ctrl+alt+del is a windows command and will always work (unless your PC locks up) dunno if arma2 has a problem with PS2 type keyboards... try borrowing a USB keyboard from somebody you know and see if that works. thats about the only thing i can think of ... but i am no windows specialist... and i havent used xp in years...

hmm.. the config is in c:/documents and settings/your profile/arma2 or (if you dont use the default profile) c:/documents and settings/your profile/arma2 other profiles does the Esc key work though ? can you open the options menu? if that doesnt work something else might be wrong...

i had a significant performance increase by adding another HD to my system. so i have a separate physical drive for the OS, the game and for fraps. aside from that i'm curious about other suggestions too...

i dont have a stick, just a steering wheel with pedals... the wheel is useless for flying of course, so i put incr. thrust on Accel pad down, decrease thrust on acc. pad up, bank left / right on mouse , nose down- mouse up, nose up - mouse down, pitch left /right on q/e. works a treat. though i really wish i had a decent stick with a manual throttle...

yes, see above :) go into the control settings and select aircraft. then find nose up and down (i think no.10 and 11 down the list) , delete the preset in it and drag mouse down and mouse up from the right of the screen into it. done. :)

setting waypoints "on the fly" works only if you are ordered to go somewhere/do something by your SL. the SL himself wouldnt see that waypoint either.

as i am playing with a 26" screen it is in valuable to me. once my third screen is fixed i will try ARMAII on soft TH. at those sizes FSAA is a must. yes- i would love the shadows enabled ... but it is the lesser of 2 evils as it were..

when i press "M" i expect to see a map... and thats exactly whats happening... job done. would be nice to have one more "zoom in " step though.

very good. now its up to players to take posts like this seriously :) it really can affect the way the session is played and it sure will affect how you (the pilot) will be received in the future. maybe a similar write up for other roles (medic, engineer etc) might be worth while and even worth a sticky. after all its role description and MP advise :)

i use the bottom button for teamspeak and the top button for ingame chat. but i am sure every player has his/her own favorite

soundblaster Xfi here .. set the card to Gaming mode and you should have zero sound isues.

processor and RAM should be "ok"... could be better though i have doubts about your graphic board though.

there is an easier workaround: next mission: however: in that mission i did come across another issue: i cannot figure out how to assign created units to other groups or how to create a new squad. thus it is nearly impossible to take the next town without me or one of my squaddies biting the bullet... any ideas there?

thats nice and a good service. but why dont you tell us how you do it or where the difference is? some people i'm sure would prefer to do it themselves rather than have their image hosted on another server...

i agree 100%. some of the arguments against here are hilarious though, ... lots of people may use it inappropriately??... well , duh... as if there arent any mission out there now that are using some features if they fit or not. Fact is: a fast roping/ rappelling option does make sense in certain scenarios and , as a dedicated in game pilot, i rather have the option and not use it than have a need for it and not have it available.

there is the 140 units or so per side limit when building a mission in ARMA. not sure if that will be increased in ARMA II...
