I personally like to have a hard copy of games i like. makes me feel more secure in my purchase

In my own baseless prediction the next few patches will be devoted entirely to bug fixs, but as time progresses BI will start to add new content/addons. for example adding in the 3D editor, getting the aircraft to have flares, and stuff like that (maybe adding the UAV FLIR to tanks)

ArmaII Object class library

Glad to see such a library put out. it is very informative and helpful, especially with objects and faces. Thank you for the effort! :) -

I would like to add an option to turn off a tanks (and other turreted vehicles for that matter) autotrack when moving, especially when "safe". its very annoying when traveling and the turrets is just waving around every whee knocking down trees, signs and crashing into houses. have an option in the action menu or something "autotrack on\off" (better yet key board command). could be a way to simulate some sort of fire control system on vehicles. only the vehicles with targeting systems would get this option so the MBTs and maybe some of the IFV/APC, but all other vehicles have to manually track for example, currently in Arma 1 if a vehicle is moving north with its turret at its 12, and makes a turn to say the west, the turret sticks to the north, and has to manually be shifted to remain with the vehicles facing So i dont have my ArmA 2 yet, but from the vids i have seen it seems like this is still a problem And of course some one should add tank interiors:D

Plus tan is a very nice neutral color that blends in quite well just about anywhere

Red dot sights - how they should look like
That guy replied to DiFool's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
the devs explained in an earlier thread about reflex optics that they are possible in game, and they were planned, but they kept encountering errors and problems (the "alpha bug" or something), and im guessing removed them because the amount of work needed to get them working error free did not offset the small aesthetic upgrade -
Bullets have drop from gravity, have some deviation, and do less damage the farther away the target is :)

Red dot sights - how they should look like
That guy replied to DiFool's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
one cannot properly implement parallax sights into a game. in reality you just place the dot on target and fire with out having to line up the front and rear sights, but since you dont do that in game, its advantage is lost They have better fov and can be seen at night. that's about their usefulness in game -

I was poking around metacritic and it seems ArmA2 already has a page up with a score of 75%. pretty good for being the German release All the blurbs mention how much potential the game has http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/arma2 -
that sound "bug" is actually a realistic feature of the new and improved sound engine. so no, it will not be "corrected"

Actually I have had a knife "kill" IRL. We were doing some platoon level raid training missions and we were moving to our ORP, and not expecting contact yet. I was lugging a 240b. my squad was moving through some dense foliage and tall grass, when i stumble right on top of some OPFOR guy hiding in a bush. Anyway since we were not expecting contact i did not have a belt loaded into the 240. I dropped the 240 and tackled the opfor, got him too the ground, grabbed my knife and shouted "SAFETY KILL!" I dont really remember clearly if he fired or not but my DICE gear did not go off. Also, he didnt fight back much, probably because of the surprise that i did that. the OCs were not too pleased, and said he was wearing a suicide belt that went off when I attacked him. it was hilarious though :D realistically I probably would have been shot and killed, and if not, the fight would have lasted a lot longer

The mission editor ...?

I would like to see some hand to hand ability, but lets face it, real virtuality is just not suited for the task of making a good hand to hand combat system. It would be very very very hard to have a decent HtH system beyond the knife spawning little bullets at an impact point. Also a major part of HtH combat is all about grappling and disarming. Most people are used to the idea of a knife being a one hit kill in FPS. thats just not realistic. if fighting an aware opponent you can stab and slash all day with out getting a "kill shot" (not taking into account the cumulative affect of the individual wounds). To get such a one hit kill would require amazing luck, or grappling, pinning, disabling and then a well placed and powerful, prolonged stab. and thats just not feasible in RV

ArmA2 Demo Release Today - 2PM GMT - 3PM CET - 6:00 AM PST
That guy replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well, over here in the US the day is still young :D -
BF2 ballistics more realistic than ArmA? I wonder if you played either game I personally would like to see WW2Online type vehicle handling and damage modeling in ArmA II, but of course in WW2O you dont have to worry about AIs ...and proper interiors for armored vehicles with working parascopes and that kind of stuff. but BIS are not making an armor sim, they are making a combat sim. Roll on the armored vehicles improvement/realism mod! :D

the game-logic system is a new and nifty feature of ArmA2 I am looking forward to playing with them, and seeing what awesome things the community will be able to do with them

did some one seriously make an ArmA1 mod? :D -
If it makes you feel better, it is almost impossible to distinguish males and females when in full battle rattle Choose a female voice, or put the pitch high, and bam, away you go

That guy replied to mr burns's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
so, they now have the ability to switch between iron sites and the scope? awesome! hopefully they get that ammo bug worked out. im guessing its where you get a "new" mag from switching from one optic to another?
