Getting ai squad mates to fire mortars

I'm going to have to admit defeat on this one, there's no way I can make a mortar reload after firing its 8 shots despite placing ammo crates and trucks near it, there don't seem to be any extra rounds in any of them. PS Coulum asked- "why is it that I can shoot more than eight shots of when I'm firing the mortar myself?" Firstly, why would you want to fire it yourself, it can't be aimed because all you see are crosshairs pointing at the sky? I tried it just for the record and I still only got 8 shots.

Getting ai squad mates to fire mortars

US Mortars come with 8 shots, then when they've fired them they say "out of ammo". Check this- http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/showthread.php?7818-Simple-Mortar-Tutorial

  5. I can confirm that, I just looked and mine says "English" and there's no way I can see to change it, no arrows or nothing. PS- perhaps when we first install the game, that's when we set what language we want, I can't remember?

    arma 2 manual

The last I heard there was NO AA2 manual because the OA manual also applies to AA2. I never got a manual with my AA2 and simply used the OA keys.

Arma 2 - Help to understand the map

Incidentally there are some terrain screenshots and maps here which help us visualise how contours and stuff tie into the 3D view- http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/showthread.php?6759-3D-RECCES
  9. I'm fed up with Steam and so are a lot of other people because if you buy a steam game on disk and decide you don't like it, you can't give it away or sell it because it's registered to your Steam account only, and it won't play on anybody elses computer. For example I almost bought Shogun 2 in Game Store recently but when I saw the words "requires Steam account to play" on the box, I thought 'no way hozay' and put it back on the shelf.

    Help on installing Combined Ops

Open your AA2/OA directory to see if the CO exe icon is tucked away in there somewhere and click it to see if it works. Incidentally my own first attempts at combining AA2/OA were a time-consuming disaster, I remember now that I was using downloads and nothing I did seemed to work, so I gave up and bought disk versions instead which for some reason were easier to work with, and I combined at only the second attempt. That means I bought AA2/OA twice, once as downloads and again on disk! I love solid atoms-and-molecules disks..:)

    How old are Arma2 Players?

Yes I like rubbing it in that I can whup you kids anytime, in fact I topped my first ladder aged 55 in 2003 and went on to top 4 more at different clubs each time. (Incidentally I've had two alien abduction experiences while camping alone in the dead of night, my guess is they extracted my DNA to create an army of Super-Soldier POS clones to conquer the universe for them)

I saw this flame dood running up the beach in the 'I44 Landing' mission, but when I went into the editor to run Flamethrower tests, I couldn't find one. Where did he get his from?

When will Reinforcements be in the states!

Best bet is to join a small friendly wargames club with a multinational membership, then if you can't find a game on sale in your own country you can ask your clubmates to send you one from their country, we do that at Few Good Men all the time, as well as giving unwanted games away free, boy are we crazy..;) FGM game giveaways- http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/showthread.php?7873-Free-Games-Give-Away

Arma 2 - Help to understand the map

The numbers are called 'spot heights'. The 106 on your GPS is your height where you're standing. If you move to a spot height on the map (for example 336), the number 336 will be on your GPS..:)

Arma 2 - Help to understand the map

What's the name of the mission? Is it AA2 or AO? Tell me and I'll look at it myself. I think the mission creator put the red circles to tell you something. The numbers are the height of the land in metres. Is it the Chernarus map?

    Help on installing Combined Ops

Yep it confused me too and I was on the verge of telling them "hey you've sent me two separate download links for AA2 and OA, but I only bought Comb Ops as advertised!", then I realised we're supposed to combine them ourselves! After a couple of tries I succeeded, sorry I can't remember exactly how I did it, (probably as Tonci says) and it went smooth as silk, I'm the most computer-illiterate person around, so if I can do it anybody can, I seem to remember I just followed the prompts and they combined automatically and put a brand new 'Combined Ops' icon on my desktop for me..:)

    Invasion 1944 v2.5 (CO)

I made a small 'St. Mere Eglise' scenario (below) to test out chutes, they work fine but sometimes a chute will develop a severe pendulum swing with the guy swinging higher than the chute, perhaps his chute malfunctioned like in real life? Also sometimes a guy will be injured on landing, again that happens in real life too. More pics:- http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/showthread.php?8016-Invasion-44-v-2.5

    High Command mission creating

Thanks, the dk blue line is the key, it seems some units have a mind of their own and want to shoot out synch links to certain HQs, so I have to keep deleting them and trying again so that I can drag the synch line myself
