I would love to keep the post proc on high it makes the game look really nice but then you can't see the enemy as easily so I turn it off

My squad my squad HAHAH the A.I you have in your squad suck compared to the A.I you play against, heck what's the point having them they only give away your position the only thing there good for is AA and AT, there's been plenty of times where my squad of 8 has been wiped out by 1-2 A.I players I mean wtf? Anyway I'm not too bothered about A.I, I just wish the performance was better, it's kind of like Crysis/Warhead it looks pretty but the gameplay is always clunky even on lower settings unless you have an uber rig and if its clunky it wrecks the whole immersion

That's the response I knew I would get, this is the game I'm looking for too bad its not quite there yet I'm not to worried about finding other people and the map/radar etc I will get used to that over time but I am worried about performance, I don't have to run on all the highest settings possible but if I do turn the graphics down I want it to be smooth not 60FPS but just smooth whereas this game is all clunky anyway hope for some good patches!

The disappointing thing for me is spawning traveling somewhere taking about 10-15minutes thinking nice one! I'm in the action now poke my head around the corner bam!!!! I have to respawn and do the same thing again And when your in a helicopter even when your pretty fair away from the A.I they always manage to shoot you down as if there all equiped with stingers and miniguns, there also extremely accurate even though there so far away I think its unplayable atm IMO

Agreed I did have low expectations obviously after reading through all the forums months before it was released but now I can't bare pretending that the game has amazing performance because that's BS Performance seems to degrade over time I'm not sure if this was the server or my PC but after 2 hours it was becoming unplayable and annoying, my friends were reporting the same as we were in vent For some reason I started with high settings but I find my self turning things down where ever I can to get performance My specs: Q6600 @ 2.4 4GB ram 4850 700/1000 Creative Xi-fi Music equivalent to Gamer 7,200rpm drive I started off using: 3000vis 1280x1024 everything on high Now I find myself at: 2000vis or 1500 in MP 1280x1024 everything else on normal apart from post proc disabled, shadows disabled Grass off in MP And textures left on high I have Grass, post proc and shadows off just so I can actually see people easier it so hard with them on but then the game looks like turd without Also the little arrows you get on SP are the worst color ever they need to be bright green or yellow not a murky yellow/green you can't see it amongst the grass This game needs a patching for performance and also to make it a least a little easier to find people, you also really need a radar its a pain in the arse to look at the map all the time and I know its not call of duty and needs to be realistic blah blah blah that's great really but it needs to be playable I can't spend 1 hour going round the map just to achieve one kill This game is just falling short of its potential

Well I got mine this morning I'm running Q6600 @2.4ghz 4GB ram @ 667mhz 4850 overclocked @ 700/993 Creative xi-fi Music/Gamer I ran the game at 1280x1024, everything on high but I put post proc at low and everything seems fine a steady 30+ fps I'm getting, when you go into town though It can go down a bit but its not life threatening :D Also I hate the controls I don't even know how to use the scope on a sniper, I'm gonna have to do some serious re-mapping later on

Oh dear Try to make this as simple as possible with the whole 1:1 ratio If you have a quad Q6600 CPU, the fsb runs at 1066mhz right, that's because the base clock or w/e runs at 266mhz but because there's four cores it x4 Now for the best performance out of the ram you need at least 533mhz why? Well DDR2 is dual channel right so 533mhz isn't the true speed an individual stick runs at so it's actually half making it 266mhz Now as you can see from the CPU base clock you have 266mhz and from the ram 266mhz = a 1:1 ratio Now so people get the idea faster ram clock speeds equal better which is not true, if you have a perfect 1:1 ratio your seeing the best performance, if your RAM is of a higher ratio than the CPU you will get the same performance as 1:1 the ram will just wait for the CPU to catch up HOWEVER! if the ram is slower than the CPU the CPU has to wait for the ram which will decrease performance, OK!!!! (Please don't bash me for any mistakes etc I'm not an expert on the subject but it's a better explanation than you two arguing :D but it's along those lines and I don't know if its the same as AMD series and Core i7 as they don't use FSB)

device manager will say 8 As the story goes your Core i7 has 4 physical cores that process but Intel added hyper threading again to the Core i7 series, this causes windows to detect double the amount of cores when there's really not, however there are performance advantages of having hyper threading when using multi-threaded code but having a 'true' core would net you better perfomance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper-threading

So your saying the engine is either on or off?, So if I plug my joystick in I can't reduce my throttle/speed? Or are you saying its something like H.A.W.K or ace combat where your at a set speed but you can speed up on slow down? I'm not extremely outraged if it's like H.A.W.K but if its just on/off then I would be, either way it needs a patching whats so hard with manual throttle on a joystick?

Don't worry we can change that :) Ouch I just listened to the A-10 in game sounds awful How do they store sound files by the way are they just in an MP3 format or something? I hope they are like Left 4 Dead was so easy to change the sounds :D

You did stir up some trouble Nice to see someone so interested in a military sim, I wouldn't worry about the character you are playing as, once you get sucked into the game you will completely forget about it! Hopefully I don't meet you on a server when your in a Hind :D

Considering the game is nearly out I don't see the point in wasting time for a demo, there plenty of gameplay up on youtube if you want to see the game in action Placebo going to be angry with this thread :)
