Couldnt have said it better myself, the time taken to support this "useful" hardware edition, they should have concentrated on elsewhere...

I Actually agree with you there, I was at an Exhibition last year where I sat in a seat with all these amBX gizmos in place, playing Call of duty, and the guy was saying stuff like "So you are more immersed yes?" "See how much better the playing experience is with all this in place?" I couldnt say no, but honestly, whats the bloody point, what percentage of the prospected user base is going to have the equipment, and tbh, who really cares (or wants) a fan blowing in their face. especially when the majority of their user base will most probably be staring at the 19 inch screen, sitting upright on a computer chair.

Fair enough, but then again, *shrugs* im kind of a fan of the grainy effect. Either way, Grain is one of this unnecessary bells and whistles like the motion blur that has made its way into mainstream FPS's, Its nice, but I would be all right without it.

Looks ingame to me, as so far for around 4 months now, all screens they have released have been the real thing, it looks better than BIS's attempt at at *cough* But I Keeping an open mind with it still

    Transformers revenge of the Fallen

i agree, entertaining, and i was just sitting back and enjoying the spectacle, as i didnt go into that cinema expecting any realism what so ever. I still say wow at the CGI effects, without a doubt.

Well if SimHQ Have given it a good review, maybe there is alot that the E3 Demo did not show.. Afterall the people who recorded the E3 Demo were not running through a features List Ticking Boxes as they went, they were playing it and giving it their opinion.

if you read the official codmasters forums, there is a hot debate on at the moment regarding the stuff seen these recent videos. What you are seeing there when sian is playing, is presumably Easy mode, however we are yet to see footage of Hard mode where the game is apparently quite unforgiving. There have also been all sorts of explanations as to why he was hit and did not die. However it is not a reason to bash the game at all. sorry.

When playing insurgency, (a half life 2 modification) Players get killed and their weapons and bodies fall to the ground, other players react to the same 'pawn' does this just indicate a general consistancy with the ragdoll physica accross clients, meaning that the ragdoll and weapons fell to the same place. with maybe a +/- 5% accuracy, however surely, if the ragdolls are restraint to their movements after a while, then consistancy can be maintained.

Hey :D your not by any chance a software engineer are you? Just finished my second year in a software engineering course ;) Anyway back on topic. I can almost see a very strong trend between the recent state of DR and the leaving of clive (if this story of him leaving is true) I saw him during the i34 Last year, and his ideas seemed in synch with the Hardcore realism that fans of the OFP series have come to love and associate. It will be interesting to see the correlation between clives 'leaving' and the change of codemasters priorities regarding DR - either way their decisions so far are proving to be the wrong path, as noticed on the DR forum with the uproar the recent media coverage at E3 has produced. Its like that i always say as a Web-designer "Build your product around the user, not the user around the product" ;)

hmm, im not liking those walk animations, the gun is constantly rested in the shoulder, has anyone ever tried doing that in real life?? I dont particularly like the reload animation either, its too heroic for when you reaload IRL, you are careful and take your time (if you are in cover) where he reloaded as if he has a thousand medals dangling around his neck. The sound of the rifle, i thought he was playing killzone or some other fictional FPS. And finally everything happened like clockwork, a little too fast paced for my liking. I'm not saying that its going to be a bad game, but my heart has sunk a little after noticing the very arcade style elements all of a sudden.

i really wish people would stop making such a fuss over the grainy effect. Personally i like it, it gives the game a more cinematic effect, that can enhance tension, look at Left 4 dead its great on that. Yes i know Left4dead isnt a simulation, but it just gives the game a unique twinge. Same goes for OFP2, i think its a nice little feature.

erm cant say im at all affected by the 'bad' choice of Trailer music, Come on.. What bimbo goes onto a battlefield listening to Moby on the MP3... anyone? So to me, Music is a tiny tiny molecular sized part of this game and has no effect whatsoever on 'how good it is'

.... Anyway.... Im quite impressed with some of the footage shown in that video, the gameplay looks much smoother since the last 'ingame' footage we saw. Its shaping up well
  17. Actually have you played Hide and Seek mod for CSS Halarious, you play as an every day object, a Coffee mug, a vending machine, a potted plant and you have 30 seconds to hide before the opposite team is released to find you, But you can move during this time, its halarious seeing a coffee mug doing a runner :D

Anyway back onto the more important stuff Heres a new screen for everyone to feast over. http://www.flickr.com/photos/codemasters/3548083073/sizes/o/
  19. If i believe this to be true, didnt RO first start off as a mod for UT? Then what did the mod team license it? and its going to be very very interesting to see how the campaign turns out without making it a COD2 clone. But for me RO is always about the Multiplayer and the sheer immersion

I highly agree with you, seriously i can think of a million things to be sarcastic about Arma2 about. But you dont see me posting in the Arma section, "hmm i forgot the Armies of the world use weapons with not moving parts whatsoever" So i suggest we get back on topic in that we a are getting some new media footage of OFP:DR , Personally im liking the shape of OFP:DR, sure its not graphically as advanced as arma (judging by the screenshots), but that's second nature to game play and immersion in my opinion. I still cant get enough of those Artillery explosions, - and Did i get a hint of the possible weapon sounds from close and afar in that video? If so they sounds very impressive. Congrats CM, keep up the competition
