  3. Q6600@3ghz, 4GB ,vista64 SP2 ,game run @high priority (a bit less stuttering) drivers 9.8 . this screenshot was from new polo island . there are many tree on this island, but problem still here on worst area of chernarus .

    lolwhut ? ATI always made paper launch ! :o no one will be able to graba card, but tech site tester ! no way man, to get a such card before october end or november ! let alone GT300. its building seem slow, and test arent finish . chips will probably need bug fix too . i heard Q1 2010 for GT300 availability .

  7. 20 fps is not playable. IMO . ati tray tool does nothing other than display sys info. so, i will not disable it. i simply don't see the point . considering shadow, i dislike high & very high settings. too ugly , at my opinion.old tech are sometime the best ;) . and i already tested it => not faster ... something is different than arma1 here tree and bush are the cause of slow framerate , usually ... it happens sometimes outside forest, but i can manage that and more important, it's CPU related. in my thread (post scriptum) we can clearly see display resolution make all the difference. i don't have rendering time detail , but i'm sure it's ALL about tree, mainly because i tested a lot of thing in the game. ps: please, go in my suggestion thread and give them your opinion

    to sum up that, we all understood the bad choice of bohemia interactive made about vegetation . in a nutshell , all player without crossfire / sli can sit their ass on playable framerate. my game run fin in town , and city , but as soon i enter in a large forest, framerate badly drop . object detail need to be VERY HIGH , regardless config. we need that because we can't play with 1998 era low poly vehicle , and soldier. but this vegetation (full of useless leaf , but to smoke them ) make it impossible for middly geared player. sadly, vegetation is procedural and i think modders can hardly change that.

  13. you are wrong . you can use forced anisotropic in arma2 . in other hand, you can't force antialiasing. but i don't recommended to use 16x aniso . wast of gpu ressource ---------- Post added at 10:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:07 PM ---------- it seems that last patch make game AF better. not much quality difference between CC and ingame "very high". i think it wasn't case with 1.02 stock 16X CCC stock2 16X CCC²
  14. it's common sens , since i usully see my cpu load peaks reaching 65% on my quadcore quad . this few % could make a huge difference in gameplay smoothness
  15. CCC anisotropic filtering slider , force driver to filter ALL texture. i means ALL. it's , well... perfect. a CCC 4x , will be far better than very high in arma config . but a sad FPS hit. i wonder how GT200 handle anisotropic filtering. anyone could compare ?
  16. last 9.8 drivers has a profile for arma2. no need to rename exe, and you don't need to add -winxp flag, either ... stop FUD please
  17. BUG: if you add a barret (glasses class) on your player profile , and play sniper , the barret is over your default helmet.
  18. that make GPU fan noise leveling up too :) i prefer recommend to force tripple buffer and enable vsync. we are still not sure if BI devs have enabled tripple buffering ...

    timelife of cpu is about 40 50 years. degrade this to 10 , i still don't see the problem ...

    hey man, the cpu temp. doesn't matter as far as it doesn't reach throttle trigger. my old atlhon64 ran at 80° 3 years non stop 24/24 7/7 . it still works .
  23. - fraps - atitraytool from ray adams. rhe best if you have an ATI card. you can change jpeg quality too .
  24. yup amd phenom are an epic failure. even phenom2 isn't exactly as powerfull as intel core2 quad.
