Well, feel free to code a better one. I bet everyone here would appreciate it.

1. It's not the Czechoslovak Republic, but the Czech Republic. 2. Flooding occurred in east CZ. 3. BIS HQ is in Prague. 4. Prague is in north-west CZ. Conclusion: No :D

I have to admit myself that OFP/ArmA/ArmA2 were never very beginner-friendly. But instead of starting the big ranting, you should just play around a bit, discover the things either by yourself or let them be explained to you by someone on VON or TS or whatever. This is no arcade game. Once you realized what the game is really about (took me also a year or two on OFP :D), you gonna love it and laugh about the comments you wrote in this forum. :D But only if you like Military Simulations of course. ;)

Says the OFP2 heretic :j: :D

It has been stated by a developer that there is a engine limitation on rate of fire (here about Shilka): http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1307149&postcount=15

Maybe you shouldn't just skip the briefing and read through your objectives, so you'll know what to do. :p

The King is dead. Long live the King.

Yeah, same for Gothic3, but that didn't have FADE :D
-
Search function use you must. Troubleshooting section find you will. Bugs report you can. :D
-
It might trigger FADE because you modify the EXE  But I might be completely wrong :D

Yes, leaning IRL is not used as extremely as depicted in the game (http://meltingpot.fortunecity.com/nevada/726/fibua.gif http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0fgZgVY8je0i8/610x.jpg), but this is just the only possible solution as once again engine limitations prevent you from moving your arms freely (and collision detection between weapon and building). Normally your weapon's butt stock isn't fixed to your shoulder which means you could move your arms in that way that you can aim around a corner without exposing half your body. In all tactical shooters you have the possibility to lean, as Rainbow Six, SWAT3, and even the arcade ones as CoD etc. (hell even SystemShock, released in 1994 had leaning). My guess is OFP1 had just too little CQC significance to get a leaning feature (or engine limitations, whatever). ArmA now has and I am happy with that. No leaning in OFP2 is just a step backwards imo.

Latest ArmA2 & ArmA2:OA Press Coverage | NO discussion here!
Andi replied to EricM's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Sure, like he's got nothing better to do  -
Well, yes, you can compare an 8 year old game (which probably had engine limitations and the like) with a brand-new game in an era where leaning is state-of-the-art  But leaning is part of realism. This is hardly discussable :j:

Yeah, you really got to be a masochist. I wonder why there is no compass. That's not an invention of game designers. Every soldier should have his own compass on which he can look when he wants too. Or maybe I just don't get the idea of this mode. Maybe hardcore really means something like: No HUD, no indicators, no compass, no clothes... Well, since there isnt even leaning... Also note, the guy quoted by REXinator wrote "Operation Flashpoint" (yeah right, without the 2). HERETIC! :D
-
Yeah, even the guys at BIS are just normal people. :) No, wait. Scratch that. They are mortal demi-gods :D
-
Are you serious?
-
Well, looking at his aim, I think this is more of a handicap than an advantage :D

Interesting idea, but (if I understand you correctly) this would mean the whole game has to be recorded and then the sat pics would show the relevant area in a state several minutes before "requesting time". It might be better to take a screenshot of the relevant area when requested and shown several minutes later due to delay, delivery etc. Since the game wouldn't have to be recorded, this would be a better solution imho. But anyways, in Benny's Warfare (ArmA1) there was the SatCam where you could spectate the whole island, zoomable and in realtime. :D
-
I loled on this one. :D But there they state that the it is now impossible to purchase the game due to the facts given in "controversy" section. Maybe this game? Other than that I don't really need this kind of stuff in a military simulator, but.. ah what the hell, I'll have a look if there should ever be something like that :D
-
Yeah right, "just" 589$. :icon_wink:

I wonder if the Flashgame competition is still running? Or are further winners not announced anymore? :(

The US always will take the opportunity to seed a US-friendly democracy in unstable states. That's why I think USMC gets deployed to Chernarus. The option to help insurgents is in player's hands, but would never been considered by USMC (That's the part of CIA). :D

Well, I was talking about myself, so for me it is a sure hit :D
