“liberation 1941-1945
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to zenger's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Nephris, I believe we need to appoint you the official forum historian. Is your area of expertise just WWII? If not I could use some help tracking down some pictures for PRACS. PM me if your interested. -
Ross kemp afghanistan. $ Ofp Resistance 2
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to jur-yes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I do believe he thinks they are going to make something like this. I guess he was asleep or drunk during the Codemasters... "ordeal". I really really hope he's just drunk and posting what's on his mind. Because if he isn't, I'm gonna go Chuck Norris on his arse for bringing WoW into this forum. -
Jungle Wars: Island of Lingor
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to icebreakr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
It looks great. Exactly what animal is that on the side of the yellow house? Also, will the antennas on the rooftops be given a more metallic or even black texture? The only reason I ask is in the current state they kind of look like wood. :p *Edit* Is the animal a hedgehog? -
Most military personnel carry a Leatherman or a similar tool when deployed, the ones I've known over the years always have 1-3 backups, and plenty of them carried small knives/switchblades. My personal favorite would be the Iraqi dagger/short scimitar that was in a flashy sheath with a tassle. :D Unfortunately that was stolen sometime last year.

ARMA3 - Brand new engine or backward compatibility?
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to maddogx's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
You really should have added a 4th option to the poll. "Just Keep Updating the current engine" I don't really care about backwards compatibility, but I think they should keep the RV engine, and get the right people to, as MTV says, "Pimp My Ride". :P Now, for some dreaming. a complete editor overhaul (unit height/stance/etc., weapons loadout) - If a mod can do it, BIS can too. - They have started this, with the OA features and with the Beta recoil, although the recoil is... difficult to learn. - It would cost BIS, but if they get the right people they could make it look awesome. - We oh so desperately need this. We could have PROPER "Blufor trackers" inside of vehicles, proper mfds, proper radar, fully working rear view mirrors, hell we could even have working TVs! -Again, something that we really really need that is very easy to do. We do not need ArmA turned into a gore game. We do not need to see limbs blown off, or your head shot halfway off. A proper wounding system would be nice, limping as you said, having to switch arms if your shot, or having to drop your main weapon all together (Pistol could be used in other hand) would be acceptable, the gore you want, no.The biggest dream of all. That Bohemia would send the AI to driving school. Or, even better, Defensive driving school. -

Admins: PLEASE ALLOW @ACEX_SM!!!!
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to l mandrake's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
You seem to not get the idea of public servers. Try this. Just because a server is public, does not mean in any way shape or form that they public has ANY say in how the server is run, what mods are allowed, or even what mission is played. Now, plenty of servers are open to suggestions, listen to their community, and take requests from their regulars. I highly doubt that any server mods are going to take suggestions/requests/demands from people who have never played on their server. My group wouldn't anyways. -
People Hacking the Server? How can we Tell?
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to xPaveway's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Nah Jack, it's a hacker. I've seen the results of one hacker on an Australian server. A mosque (the main building in the center, not the walls) was dropped on top of somebody. The next day he was spawning ammo crates, tanks, and SCUDs, which don't fit a "rp" mission like the one that was playing. -
Mapfact' South Sahrani in Arma 2.
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to seba1976's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Either way, your asking for help converting an island from ArmA 1 to ArmA 2, which means you must use the sticky. -
No no no, you've got it all wrong. That would have been true 10-15 years ago. Now, it's Hell March 3. For comparison... Tb-gI_pFog0 9WqwFhX6Cqg 6nFKPVfDrgU And remember brothers, "Kane Lives!".

What about some Battlefield-MP-Style mod?
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to Sled88's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Ignore Mac, don't let all your hard work go to waste. Release it as is, hell maybe somebody will even offer to continue your work. -
No my extremely new Tovarisch, they are not using the "shitty addon-auto-updater". You could say that if they were using the Six-Updater, because it's so complicated it makes Yoma look like a maze with a "secret passage", that's highlighted of course, from beginning to end.

RH M14 pack 1.0 for OA / CO
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to roberthammer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I wouldn't think that they would/should work for ArmA 2. He is using the M14 model from Operation Arrowhead, and seeing as it's illegal to backwards port.... -
Yep, only military personnel can download it. Made my dad a bit pissed off, considering he was U.S. Army for 26 years, but seeing as he is retired it wouldn't let him download it, or even get to the page/any page with real info about it.

Amazing film. I have to admit, about halfway through i started thinking about potential endings, and guessed correctly, but it's still a damn good film. Did you guys notice the music? Once you got into it you could listen to the music and know a good scene was coming up. :D I still can't quite *oops, spoiler* Warning - Spoiler to End All Spoilers

Are you denying the presence of the life threatening information? Such as names of informants, names of their villages, what intelligence they gave us, and in some cases even the names of their relatives? Again, are you saying an American prison is worse than say... Carandiru? Or La Sabeneta, Diyarbakir, Tadmor, Drapchi, or Gitarama? Or my personal favorite, Kwan-li-so No.22 Haengyong. (Camp 22, North Korean) Yes, your locked up. So freakin what? It's prison, that's what your in there for. In American prisons/jails you get 3 meals a day, you usually have access to a library or even a television, and you atleast get SOME exercise. Not to mention your clothed, sheltered, and taken care of for the duration of your sentence. I can't think of any other country where inmates would jump on one of their own to protect a prison guard, get on the intercom and call for help, and keep the guy pinned until more guards arrive. All because the guard was a nice guy to them. (Actually happened, though I can't find a clip)

Personally, I love them the in their current state, I don't believe that changing the helmet would make it better.

#1 - What reporter are you talking about?? #2 - I'm talking about the military person(s) or the political person(s) who actually sent the files to wikileaks, not anybody from wikileaks. #3 - Yes, stuff has leaked in the past. Small stuff here and there, bits and pieces of information, occasionally something good, mostly something useless, and sometimes both (I believe there was a leak saying that we used 12 AC-130s on an assault on an Afghan airfield during the beginning of the invasion. We actually had 3-4 in the entire theater at the time.) but never something like this. I mean, 90,000 documents ffs? #4 - Are you an American? If so then you must be one of the idiots who rank an American prison worse than prison in a 3rd world country where you don't even get food, and your likely to be raped/shot.
-
Oh shit not that fucking video again. They were helping the damn insurgents, and if they weren't then they were just a couple of idiots. Seriously, if you see an Apache Gunship firing at a house, would you run towards the house to mingle with the occupants? Stop idolizing the leaker for gods sake! He IS NOT fighting for the greater good of humanity or whatever bullshit you guys are saying. Jesus Christ! If this were WWII, the Korean War, Hell probably even Vietnam, or the Cold War (If it was the cold war he would already be dead by now) they would execute the sonofabitch for treason! Don't idolize a goddamned idiot who decided to put peoples lives at risk because he didn't like his boss or didn't get the fucking promotion he wanted! Snap out of it people!

CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to Undeceived's topic in OFFTOPIC
... FPDR :j: -
FPDR Are you completely ignorant? Other than detailed information on previous engagements (which, if analyzed, can show any patterns we use, our tactics, the time it takes support to arrive, etc. etc.) it gives out detailed information on the Afghan civilians who are cooperating with us. I'm pretty sure the Taliban or one of their supporters are poring over this "war diary", looking for names/addresses etc. Wikileaks has put the lives of INNOCENT people, who are simply trying to further peace, and stop Taliban attacks on them/their villages/coalition forces, at risk. If you fail to see how giving out their names, the name of their village, and in some cases their fathers name, harms or multiplies the potential for harm to come to them, you are a complete idiot. Do you get it now, you ignorant hippie?

[R3F] Artillery and Logistic: Manual artillery and advanced logistic (mission script)
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to madbull's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I think it's meant to be a simple infantry support weapon. Rather than call in artillery on a sniper, the MGS can deal with it, or if a light vehicle comes up on you, the MGS can swivel and fire. It's basically meant to be a heavy fire support unit inside of a Stryker Brigade, so that they can have a punch that can keep up with them, and is a part of their unit, instead of having to detail some M2A2s or M1A2s.
