Adding content from TKOH for Helicopter DLC
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to dezkit's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yes, those shipping containers are interchangeable pods that can be used by the "Taru" skycrane helicopter. -
AH-99 Blackfoot upgrade/second variant
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to nullrick's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
We're never going to get a "RAH-66", cancan. Never. IF we get anything out of this, which I highly highly doubt, it will be another version of the Blackfoot, same name, more ordnance. -
AH-99 Blackfoot upgrade/second variant
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to nullrick's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
In all honesty here guys, the cheapest, quickest, most realistic thing that Bohemia can do is just take the current Blackfoot and add on the stubby little wing pylons that the real bird had. Ideally she'd have 2 sidewinders on the pop-out racks along with 2 hellfires or rocket pods or something, and then 4 hellfires on each wing for the total of 8 that the real thing had. -
[WIP] "Last Stand" Pack
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to alaskafish's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
So... do you have a website, or forum, or a list of teammembers, or anything of that sort? Because I see the word "we" thrown around alot, as well as "me and my team", but you start out with "I am actively looking for coders, texture makers, model makers, anything that can help." which, 99.5% of the time means that you're probably just an idea guy, but because this is only your 4th post that kind of goes up to 99.9%... -
Of course. There will also be new ammo, repair, cargo (passenger), and medical containers for the "Taru" to use. They are interchangable pods. It's what I've always wanted. :D

AH-99 Blackfoot upgrade/second variant
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to nullrick's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Except in real life the comanche had those pylons. They were meant to be punched off if necessary, but since that's complicated in A3, two variants make sense, and should have been made from the beginning. -
You guys forget, we're also paying for more steam achievements, as they mention multiple times. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

In-game commercial advertising in the custom content
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to Rydygier's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well, one example would be Intel back during Battlefield 2. In Armored Fury I think it was, they had Intel billboards, and some Intel supply crates as map objects, etc. They made a little bit of a fuss about it at launch, but it was fairly unobtrusive. References during map loading screens, etc. That type of product placement, fine, especially because in ArmA we could just blow up the billboards. -

Supposed to be funny? SUPPOSED TO BE funny? Sir, you offend me. I hereby challenge you to a duel. As the offended party my choice of weaponry is a rubber chicken. (On topic, the current browser does have some issues, and they definitely need to make it more clear to new players what the star is supposed to be used for.) -

[whisper]I'm sorry. I am so, so sorry, but you need to run now. Once they get over their shock they will come for you, and it will be painful. I wish I could help you, I wish anybody could help you, but the only thing for you now is to run.[/whisper] -
No. As I said in your other thread, there's no reason for it. What makes MANW entries better than the rest of the community's work? Hundreds if not thousands of people over the last 13 years have been pouring their time, blood, sweat, and tears into this series, making addons and mods and scripts and missions and everything else. They do so because they choose to do so, knowing there isn't going to be a reward at the end of it. If you lose, you lose. The best out of each category will get such rewards as defined in the rules of the competition, and everybody else will get nothing more than the appreciation of the people who use their work, just like every addonmaker in the last 13 years. Now, you could add a "Donate" button to your signature or website, and some people might give you a few bucks here and there, but if you're only doing stuff to get a reward (as I feared MANW would cause) then I am afraid you have definitely picked the wrong community/game. -Edit- Perhaps you are only doing it with an expectation of some reward, Wiki? I remember you did a lot of A2, but then you "quit" last year, and said you wouldn't be making anything for A3. Did you only come back because of MANW?

Hexamine? Hell, I thought you'd use what the American military used to use. Dig a hole, (or use a little hole in your vehicle, in this case a small recess in a 113 during the 60's/70's) pinch off a tiny piece of C4, very carefully light this tiny piece, and place your pot/cup/whatever over the flame. :D
-
But then that would mean defining what is "extremely high quality" and what isn't. If it's "extremely high quality" then odds are it will be in the top 3 in it's category anyways.

The competition was announced a long time ago, the prizes and deadlines and rules were also set a long time ago. This proposal doesn't really make much sense, to be quite honest. It's akin to the policy in schools these days where everybody gets on the team, instead of those who earn a spot with skill, or passion. If you don't win a prize, you don't win a prize. You are not going to get a handout from BIS saying "Thank you for spending your free time, blah blah blah" because, guess what, you chose to spend your free time that way. Just like the hundreds of addonmakers over the years who poured their free time, blood, sweat, and tears into making something for the community, your only reward will be the appreciation of the people who use your stuff.

All politicians are evil bastards who should be exiled to a deserted island and left to their own devices, no matter what country they are from. The only difference between him and every other British politician is that an amazingly high number of people are believing his crap.

Might want to PM NZDFCrash. He lives in that area, and did some traveling of his own a while back. (Rode a crappy little motorbike up and down Vietnam, traveled SEA, did some hostel hopping in Europe/UK.) If you've got dive training he may even be able to take you out for a dive. Only thing is, he's on the tail end of some dive schooling right now, and his schedule is a bit hectic. Still, worth a shot.

Well, seeing as the political leader behind the "Yes" campaign is a frakking idiot who keeps spouting lies and pushing the most optimistic projections he can find as the facts, I can only see bad times ahead if they do vote for independence. Either way, half the country will be pissed at the other half. Though at this point the "No" people are fairly civil while the "Yes" people appear to be fucking assholes, with the majority of what I've been seeing on FB and twitter being them talking about planning to intimidate voters, etc.

would you still buy any BI product ?
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to sgtsev3n's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
I shelled out the big bucks back when the Supporters Edition of A3 was first announced, and I *think* I would do it again, but these days, I'm not really sure. -
Honestly, the A3 campaign reminded me an awful lot of Resistance, and I consider it to be the best campaign since OFP.

F/A-18X Black Wasp
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to saul's topic in Arma 3 - MAKE ARMA NOT WAR CONTEST - ADDON
I'm confused... is this based off your modification of the Franze model? (I never quite understood your non-MANW Hornet. By "new model" did you mean that you made a new one completely from scratch? or that you heavily reworked Franze's bird and made new versions?) -
The Enhanced Vehicle Features Mod
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to CommuneCode's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Guys, don't fall for this thread. It's just a 16 year old who fancies himself a modder/game designer, and knows not of what he speaks. For the record, Commune, the vehicles don't have the ability to roll the windows up, nor down, in A3. There's the ability to shoot them out, but that's either full up or full down, and that's it. There are hidden animations, but the LODs aren't set properly, so you can't shoot through open doors or something like that, which is why BI didn't enable them. Wipers/rain might be possible, but I think you'd need the sources to do that. Really not sure about fogging up windows, but for both of these, what's the point? You'd have to hook them into a weather mod for them to be useful. I propose that you let the thread die, gentlemen, because it's nothing but spam anyways. As for Commune, you say you're good at missions, so you might want to stick with that, or actually learn scripting/addonmaking before you make another thread proposing an idea for an addon. -
I've been sobbing for the last two hours. There are no words for the sorrow I feel. I just keep going back to this clip. His verse was long and beautiful and sad and happy and everything all at once. His verse inspired millions, and made so many smile, or laugh, or cry. The world is a much darker place without him, and he will be missed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq_XBP3NrBo

[WIP] Boeing F15SE Silent Eagle
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to randomslap's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
He can't enter it in MANW. It's a modification of a conversion of an FSX model. You can only enter original content that did not exist before MANW began. -
United States Navy mod
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to disco.modder's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Completely incorrect, if my memory serves. Static objects... I'd imagine they'd have to be attachTo'd the ship, but that's something I'm not sure of. Man class has no interaction at all, and can only walk on a ship if it's static or if the ship is not moving at all. It's the same with vehicles, and with fixed wing aircraft. The only class that can actually sit on a moving ship without being attachTo'd is the helicopter class. To be quite honest, this won't work. You want a US Navy mod, you've got a WIP features list that's just stuff other people have done, you can't do the work needed for such an idea, and all of this adds up to this being a slightly dressed up Addon Request.
