Montasanto GM Maize and roundup causes massive tumours and early death.
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to walker's topic in OFFTOPIC
If the committee is comprised of experts in the field, then yes, you're damn right I will. Because it is ONE study. If they do several studies, followed proper procedures when doing so, etc. and they all come up with the same general conclusion, then yeah, you've got something solid. One study does not trump one committee of people who know what they are talking about. -

Too tired/not enough time for me to look for other sources, but I just noticed this. http://spreadlibertynews.com/the-organic-review-eu-says-french-gmorat-study-is-a-flunk/ -

"...You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot..." So would that make the BI forums = network of spies? ;) -
Why do you feel the need to use the word redneck as an insult? We have feelings to ya know, and it's those goshdarn yankees who are the brainless ones, everybody knows that. :j:

Just would like to point out that if cluster munitions on a block of houses makes sense to me, somebody who doesn't know very much about their specifications or launch platforms/delivery systems, then it would sure as hell make sense to a military commander. Your goal isn't to blow up the buildings. Your goal is to kill anybody that's in those alleyways, to damage or disable any vehicles they might have, blow up any fuel caches, etc. (like you said) BUT the biggest and most important reason? Fear. Imagine dozens or hundreds of grenade sized explosions around the building you've secured. Once it stops, is your ass actually going to venture outside now? Are you going to move from your cover? REALLY think about this. If you answer yes, then you're either lying, have been under fire before & it wouldn't phase you, or you've got guts. But if you're like the majority of the population, the answer is not only no, but "Hell no, you walk your fucking ass out there and bring in the groceries.". A large portion of the rebels are normal people. Shopkeepers, etc. They are learning soldiering, but they are not soldiers. If it comes to it, the cluster munitions would keep the enemy pinned until artillery, armor, or air could be brought to bear in numbers great enough to ensure destruction of the target, or to cordon off the area and wipe it off the map.

Montasanto GM Maize and roundup causes massive tumours and early death.
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to walker's topic in OFFTOPIC
Exactly. Roundup isn't helping matters, but it's not the source of all evil, or all cancer. Ya know, I'm starting to finally realize that it is impossible for Walker to have a logic based conversation without him completely disregarding the other sides, or even the neutral sides, point of view. Every time these threads get started that seem designed to attempt to induce panic, I or somebody else attempts to show the other side of the issue, or the neutral side of the issue, and he simply falls back on completely disregarding the points made against his side. Basically, my argument is wrong because he says it's wrong, and he says it's wrong because it's wrong. Tis an endless loop you see. So instead of instead of losing my patience trying to debate the issue with an obvious fearmonger/troll, I'm going to leave the thread, chuckling over the fact that my mind, while half asleep, saw the following sentence he had highlighted in bold and thought that he had randomly gone far off-topic. -
Of course, if you have a dog (or other pet) that likes to chew on stuff then you'll end up sobbing when you have to give your $100 headset a proper burial, and you'll end up getting a $20 Logitech set out of resignation.

Computer Code Discovered In Superstring Equations
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to walker's topic in OFFTOPIC
To sum up Walker's post, we're all characters in an alien version of The Sims. So would that mean Hitler was controlled by a rampaging 12 year old who liked to blow stuff up? Everything makes sense now! -Edit- We're all concerned about machines rising up against us and wiping us out, when in reality WE are the machines. ;) -

Don't believe the fear mongers, but don't believe the media or the government either. I believe the results of this study are legitimate about as much as I believe we went into Iraq to get rid of WMDs. Do I believe Montasanto are good guys? Nope. Bad guys? Nope. Good and bad cannot be defined because both sides have their own views. In the end, the winners/survivors are the ones who write the history books, so whoever they decided was evil becomes evil. More on-topic though, I'll just leave this here... -

Darkhorse 1-6 replied to walker's topic in OFFTOPIC
The opinion of the people who know more of the subject than you or me is that the study is, essentially, shit. Many, it seems, are surprised it was even accepted for publication. It was not done to the standards that are normally applied to such things, and it's being applied to all genes in an attempt to to cause panic or damage. -

Postcards From A Furious China, or A new Star of David found in China
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to Iroquois Pliskin's topic in OFFTOPIC
If Iran or Israel makes a move before SEA goes up, we'll fight, but we won't have the resources. If they don't, you'll most likely see the US engaging China on a fairly large scale, while possibly getting help from Vietnam and a few others in the region. North Korea will probably side with China and hit SK, but hell, maybe instead they'd opt for Re-unification on peaceful terms and sit out the war as a neutral party. -
EA Makes Command & Conquer: Generals 2 Free
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to vuckotadic's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
EA can take Generals 2 and shove it up their arse. They murdered C&C as soon as they killed off Westwood. The only good game they made within the series was Generals/Zero Hour, but that shouldn't have even been a C&C game. -

I was watching it live on my android while at work. Went 10 minutes over my allotted break time and nearly got caught when I let out a cheer. Anybody else hear somebody say "Oh shit!"? Or see those two that got their lanyards tangled up during the cheering/hugging/happytime? :D -
How close is ArmA 3 to real military action?
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to soldierkid's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Your choice of caps lock in your thread title won't help you much. Plus this question has been asked before. It's basically the civilian version of what the U.S. Army/USMC (and many others) use to train their soldiers. Google VBS2 for more info on that. That pretty much says it all. -
you can't do "copy picture location" from that site. You have to look at the page info or page source, find the image link, and grab it from there.

It's not just in Colorado. A friend of mine in Utah has a fire 2 towns up from her, and there's fires all across the west. It's this damn heatwave.

Unsung Vietnam War Mod Version 2.5 Discussion
Darkhorse 1-6 replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Carlos Hathcock had several run-ins with a group of women that were pretty damn good at using the BAR. They were smart, ambushed a lot of convoys & caused a lot of damage. Hathcock ended up taking 2 or 3 of them out (after running into them a bit by accident several months/year or so after first encountering them) before the others got his range and made him take cover. Then of course there was The Apache, a woman who liked to torture the people she/her unit captured. She had two ARVN soldiers, skinned one alive while the other watched, then skinned the other and left them just inside the treeline, tied up and booby trapped. Then there are VC/NVA nurses, regular soldiers, etc. -
Maddii would be the one who did up that whole page. Even added his own fictional factions to what was supposed to be the official faction list. :j:
