You can't patch the Steam version using the standalone patches, duh.. You must be new to Steam. Games on steam get patched automatically - you don't need to apply any patch manually at all. The game you buy from STEAM is registered to your steam account name. There are no such thing as 'limited activations'. You can re-download the game as many times as you wish for the registered steam account. You just need to remember your steam account name & password, email address. Yes, you can. Did you know you can create a backup to DVD disc, if you bought it from STEAM ? Voila ! DVD hardcopy you can hold in your hands. Also useful in case you get insomnia. :D :D
