[Chopper] Turret without Gun -> View Linked to Pilot View
Gruman posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : ADDONS - Configs & Scripting
Hello, Im currently working on the RAF Chinook which was converted by TF86 Smiley Nick. It has a Co-pilot Turret, a Loadmaster turret and one turret at the ramp which doesnt have weapons and two M134 Turrets on the sides. The Turrets without a weapon, have a wierd behavior. When the pilots uses his Free Look, the View of all of those unarmed turrets do the same "Free Look Movement". Anybody has an idea, whats the reason for this and how to fix it? If needed i will provide the Turret definitions etc in the evening, just tell me what you need :) Thanks alot. Best regards -
Logitech G940 Force Feedback: Out of the Box and into ArmA2 - AAR

@node_runner Any recommended settings for the ForceFeedback and the Center spring? Do you mean 100% or 200% with all the way up... Thanks -
Logitech G940 Force Feedback: Out of the Box and into ArmA2 - AAR
Gruman replied to Thirdup's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hey Thirdup, Are you still happy with your G940? I own the same Joystick and its nice for flying Aircrafts, but when it comes to flying Helicopters its much more difficult. I believe the missing center spring is the main problem of this joystick... its so hard to hover on the spot without it... Did you find a good setting for Force Feedbacks, Sensitivity (ingame and in Logitech Profiler)? Are you using the "Center Spring Simulator" from the Profiler (what rate?)? Im thinking about lowering the Joystick of about 4 cm into my desk, just to make the whole thing a lot more relaxing. The base of the joystick and the throttle are freaking high... Thanks :) Best regards -
Well, let me warn you. If you make the step towards TIR (and give it time to get used to it), you cant and you dont want to go back. The only thing that is a contra for this product... you will turn your head in every other game to, which of course, isnt supportet in those games (exept flysim's of course) I had both, TIR4 & 5 and i would suggest you take the little extra bucks and buy the TIR5. Alone the new magnetic mount is it worth :) And dont forget your TrackClipPro, otherwise you will look like a freak with a cap in front of your screen  :D Its highly recommended to play the game on a real smooth FPS, otherwise the lagging view will do more damage than good. A triplescreen system is absolutly not required, bot highly recommended

Hey Sumrak, Great Map you created there. Realy something different. :) I did a little test yesterday about the glowing world. Everythin exept the snow looks OK on my RIG. Not sure about the snow, which appears to be warmer than trees and buildings, but you can clearly see a big difference between snow and and real heat signatures. Did you had time to take a look at it? Thanks Best regards MAG

A fix for Full Axis throttle mapping
Gruman replied to TheHarvesteR's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Otherwise, you can throw in this into your shortcuts target line: /run x:\xxx\ArmA2Joystickfix.PIE /tray And throw that one into your Autostart folder. You never have to care about it anymore :). When you start arma, its allready there. Perfect :) @=WFL= Sgt Bilko I flew some time with increase and decrease thrust, and when i swapped over to this Fix, it was so much more better. I suggest you give it a shot, if you dont like it, you just have to redefine two keyboard keys and uninstall glovepie and PPJoy :bounce3: -
A fix for Full Axis throttle mapping
Gruman replied to TheHarvesteR's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
@Trekari What do you want the DEV to fix? This isnt a bug. The game let you assign one Axis. You should blame the manufacturer of your (and mine) Joystick to divide the throttle into two seperate axes. In my opinion this should be able to change within the profiler of the certain Joystick Systems. Maybe send a message to Saitek or Logitech, cant be to hard for them. What would be nice if BIS would bring a Analog Throttle (0-50%) & Analog Throttle (51-100%). Until then, the fix works perfectly and im happy. Thanks again TheHarvesteR -
ACRE v1.0 - Advanced Combat Radio Environment - Official Thread (ArmA2 to TS3 Plugin)
Gruman replied to noubernou's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Well, the Version 1.0.11 is NOT stable. After release there were many reports of problems. So even the ACRE Dev recommended to go back to the version 1.0.10. We are using the Version 1.0.10 without any problems and its a huge improvement in communications. I would suggest to try the 1.0.10 Version or wait for the next 1.0.12, which will probably be released on friday (i hope, realy looking forward to it :) ). -
A fix for Full Axis throttle mapping
Gruman replied to TheHarvesteR's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Dont know if anybody tried it yet, but what Glovepie does, is recording the inputs from the axes, and does with that data whatever the scripts tells it. What you want to know is the name of the throttle axis and if the cougar Hotas are two seperate inputdevices. Im sure this would work with the Cougar hotas too, because there is no dependancy on any driver. As long the joystick still works, ppjoy will record the data and convert it for you. best regards -

@Goose36 (nice to see you here too ;)) Well, you mean any HOTAS joysticks? Well i use the G940, which is a Hand on throttle and stick... It works on every Analog Throttle Works like a charm. Thanks for the Auto Start of the thing. Thanks. -
ACE 1.5 (Advanced Combat Environment) for OA/CO
Gruman replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
You have to see the big picture... some months ago, when there was a new ACE Topic (due to a new stable release), it had 10 pages in an hour full of bug reports. No one, with anything other to do would go through 10 pages just to seek for some bugreports. Every big mod uses DevHeaven as a location to collect all bug reports and give feedback about those. The owner of DevHeaven supports with his system the whole community. Same as SixUpdater. Its a nice and uncomplicated tool to update all the big mods, which works extremly fine. And whoever doesnt like it, there is still Yoma or the normal Stable releases. IMHO its a little bit to complain about those who invested so many hours of their lives for no fee or a salary, just because you have a different opinion. If you want to tell your opinion, dont get offensive and try it with a good feedback. :) If the developer whishes all bugreports on a supplied site, then so be it. His work, his choices. Hope nothing of my text is somehow offensive. Wasnt ment to be. I think it would be great to let it be and concentrate on the todays release :) Nice weekend. -
ACRE v1.0 - Advanced Combat Radio Environment - Official Thread (ArmA2 to TS3 Plugin)
Gruman replied to noubernou's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hmm, no... You would have a Beta Folder, if you would use a Beta Patch ;):D The dSound.dll has to be there, where the Exe of your game is. If you are using only Patch 1.54 its in the "\...\ArmA2\dsound.dll". If you are using a beta the file should go there: "\...\ArmA2\Expansion\Beta\dsound.dll" What other mods are you running? You have CBA in the newest version too, i assume? Best regards -

@Sneaker-78- Did you try out JayArma2Lib 1.3.3? Did you put the dsound.dll file into the Arma2\expansion\beta\ ? You put the TS3 Plugin in the TS3 directory and activated it? Your problem should be somewhere in those locations ;) Hope i could help Any news about new stable version? :o -

A fix for Full Axis throttle mapping
Gruman replied to TheHarvesteR's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hey, yep, G940 has 3 different devises... Joystick, Throttle and Rudder Paddels. Now with the G940 working properly now, i can start mounting the joystick the way, i can use em right... Thanks again. Maybe add the different axis names for the different joysticks to the first post... meight help others... Ah yeah, is it realy needed to have glovepie all the time running? Isnt there a way to make this permanent? Sucks to have to start it and stop (but its nice to change things on the go :)) -
Same Problem? The guys above doesnt have any problems with the trottle, they complain about the lack of propper ForceFeedback control (which is false, because Arma 2 supports simple force feedback on mine) What exactly is your throttle problem? Dont realy get whats your problem? When you push the trottle away from you, the game records this as a movement of the Joystick or what? In this case you have to unbind every Logitech G940 commands in Arma and start reassigneing them. It works perfectly on my side. best regards

ACE 1.5 (Advanced Combat Environment) for OA/CO
Gruman replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey. You installed in the wrong direction... You need to install Arma2 first, then when you install OA you will be asked if you want a combined installation = Combined Arms. After that, the OA is in the arma2 folder under expansion. But if you want this, this way, you would have to use the ACE OA Standalone Version with the CBA OA Standalone. A question regards Fast Roping: Is this system operatable at the moment? I tried many times to use it and i never get the useraction menu for it? Could somebody explaine to me how to do it? When i add fast roping and sling loading to a 3rd party addon, can i use a mempoint insteat of the normal coordinates? Those coordinates semms not to be the same as the on ein O2... Thanks Best regards -
A fix for Full Axis throttle mapping
Gruman replied to TheHarvesteR's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
This is awesome, finaly i can use my G940 Throttle the way it needs to be I use this script to read the G940 Throttle (right one): PPJoy5.analog2 = (MapRange(-Joystick2.x, -1, 1, 0, 1)) Ingame its PPJoy Z Axis... Had a mixup with the analog2 code. Should be analog1 for us G940 users. but i was to lazy... :D Great work :) Thanks -

Gruman replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Only Stable versions will be available for download via a normal download. For Beta versions, you need to use the Six Updater or Yoma. Good job, looking forward for the next update :) -

@OM Yep, thats one of the reason everybody uses the stable version 1.0.10.xxx ;) If you want to keep this version, just take the digital 117 LR Radio. That one should work. But the newer version is a NOT Stable version, it maybe have some more bugs. Any news about a new stable version and newer Beta support? (I know JayArma2Lib is currently for a specific reason not active). Any new awesome features? Thanks for your work. -

I like it :). I enjoy missions on Aiktalik, so i will definitly look forward for this one :) As long as there are Roads and Paths, there can still be a lot of stones. Realy like the oppertunity for some cover in the open grounds. Would it be possible to get a location with enough space to build a little custom Airbase? There was an ideal spot in the South East on Aiktalik, but the Airstrip wasnt level enough and there were just to many rocks around  Either way, it will be awesome, thanks -

Well, make sure if you are running Beta that JayArma2Lib is ready for that beta. There wasnt a new version of it lately for the newer Betas. So you will get this message. And with the message, ACRE doesnt work... -> This Version will still run: ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_73251.zip If you are using an older Beta, dont forget to but the dsound.dll file into you expansion/beta folder. -
I got the ATI 5870 and running Arma2 on 3 x 24" @ 6032x1080 on allmost high settings. Got a 930 @ 3Ghz running too. Runns smooth. Even better on Takistan of course. So the 5870 is a great card, but maybe there is allready a better card available, dont know. Didnt check any new reviews the last 3 months because im Happy at the moment :) For the Overview: Arma is extremly CPU dependend, so if you can get a Quadcore with 3-4 Ghz you can gain a lot of performance. Check the forum for some setting related stuff. Some settings doesnt do the same thing like in other games. So with the right settings you can improve your gameexperience a lot. Have fun Greetings
