    TOH dont Start

    Paull.dll is probably part of SecuROM activation and if it is broken you probably can't activate game, but I don't know what is exactly your problem. Maybe try download some other paull.dll file, search it in google. How big is your downloaded files? 7,8GB is right size. from windows 7,43 GB (7986033889 bytes) And installed game have about 9,3GB. from windows 8,90 GB (9564149125 bytes) Added: Try install game as administrator.   2. I don't know either. So I suggest to place some burning car there, at least you get some light :D. Or you can fly during full moon, hopefully you will get enough light, I use this settings. You are right that night lighting is not strong part of Virtual Reality Engine, but impression when you fly above street is quite good.

  4. yceE17SRJPY Make sure you watch it in HD. This is just incredible BIS' work. Beautiful clouds. I first only want to look through clouds on the ground, but it end up that I was so impressed by clouds, that I start shoot them :). I will have to make full time movie, watching these clouds are really relaxing. I'm really curious how BIS make them, who create them made fantastic work. Clouds are not small, they are huge, several kilometres thick and have right scale (I guess :p). Also I have to apologize that few months ago, I said that TKOH clouds probably can't reach FSX REX quality, now I can say that in some aspects they are even better.

    Terrain Detail

    Thanks PvPscene, definitely better place to discuss about terrain ;). I thought that term "lite terrain" mean we got about 1/3 of final terrain, but I will be happy if I'm wrong and we get better land texture.
  6. That's why I made this test video. I want to figure out why somebody have so blurry textures. Maybe this is not good test, because it's static, altitude is not change rapidly. But I get "ugly" texture only when I set texture detail to very low.

    I can confirm it too. Very random. I've captured it, at time about 1:32 you can see cockpit disappear.

    Terrain Detail

    Just my thought about terrain details. First I set up object detail, shadows, texture to Normal and was very conservative with view distance. And I wasn't quite satisfied with ground texture. But later I encouraged and set up object detail and shadows to very high, texture to High and now these object nicely cover far texture and looks quite fantastic. I recommend to anyone with strong processor to set up object details to very high, it looks better when far object are not slowly vanishing. TKOH is beast for processor, but I'm satisfied with I5 2500K (recommend this CPU) and its very easy overclockable (my @4,5GHz). I wonder if setting postprocess effect to High or Very High do this normal mapping, but this setting quite kill my frame rate so I don't test it yet. Maybe my graphic card is weak for this setting I have Nvidia 560TI. Anyone is able to use postprocess set to High/Very High? To problem with blurry texture. Quote from Betseda about present Rage's problem with texture. They also use huge textures. Probably it can be problem with "weak" CPU, just my 2 cents.

    Flight dynamics

    It will sound rude from me, but what you Almdudler want to say us, shortly, you are saying that FSX RULES! and ARMA/TKOH SUX. And one months before game launch and only from one video, you are saying what's wrong with game, even if you didn't try it. Sound you want the game fail and then you can say I told you so. I know, It is a little bit of an exaggeration. Even I don't know If i will like game. Maybe will fail, but from community preview I know that flight model is enjoyable and for me(noob) is quite challenging. What I had problem with MS FS2004/ FSX10 that vanilla game is "boring like hell". I'm not saying that FSX is not grate simulator and superior with many areas, but is suit for enthusiast. This is what TKOH want to change that you will have reason for flying. Sorry but now you are late with changing anything, game is almost done. Judge game after is released.

  16. Thanks for your answer. Anyway these details are interesting. From Geobusinesses article it was not clear what exactly was problem with BISim and I missed that you were joking ;). Next time when you are making interview, you have to better clear up these details, because arma fan can make up crazy theories :). p.s. Suggestion! I think, that also non czech/slovak community are interested how you are making maps, it could be nice devblog article about how Seattle map was made :).

    Congratulation . So, now you are something like this? I didn't know that companies require a minimum of 1000 flight hours for pilot. So are you going to be pro pilot, or do you want only teach others? I just hope TKOH don't require these hours in tutorial :).

  19. That was only speculation with "terrorist reason", I know nothing, maybe they like american terrain, it has more variety, I don't know. It was not confirmed that map is based on US data. Story take place in "Armaversum", so its not real world, BI can bent world how they want. Probably south Asia terrain will be call Takistan, so its fictional state. Of course somebody will not be satisfied with this explanation, because BI also call game as simulator, but for me its just game. Next time I will not speculate :).

  21. That's terrorist ;), we all read EULA and know that we can't use Arma for training. So we better use COD :p. LandInfo feared that their data will be use in game, that can be later use by terrorists. Army is probably their best costumer, so it's understandable.
  22. Wow, thats interesting find. Here on TKOH facebook page , down the page, user Michael M. found real counterpart of south asia terrain. Here is his comparison. So that's probably mean that south Asia terrain is from California, Nevada Arizona :). Picture from south Asia terrain shows lake Havasu and Parker dam. Here is link to google map http://g.co/maps/dd96q, north is swap with south. That a little bit corresponding with article from czech magazine Geobusiness, which was posted on Armabulvar.cz. Geobusiness have interview with Miroslav Horváth about how BI makes map. And Miroslav said that they ordered satellite data for Takistan from Landinfo company and they warrant them that they will cover detail of the map. Soon Landinfo realize and connect BI with BiSim and they don't like it much and they have fears that data can help terrorists with training. So BI have to clear up it. So that's interesting question, if someone from BI can answered it, if they choose map data from USA because of problem with permission with real for e.g. Afghanistan data? (of course if at all US data are model for south asia terrain :))

    BIS at the GC: Very kind!

    So I tried to translate some parts of interview with Martin Vaňo. I don't think that is necessary to translate whole interview, some parts are now covered by PurePassion's GC visit and some other news or older articles. Martin Vaňo introduced himself as senior designer, which is responsible for story, campaign, authenticity of environment and partly about visual aspects. Arma3 will take place during WWW3, 30-40 years in the future. The war is too long for both side. It is a little bit conflict of civilization, West against East and West is apparently losing the war. You end up lonely without guns and wearing an enemy uniform. Now you have to find a ally. The beginning is a little bit like survival game, but you don't need hunt animals for food. For example you have to ask civilian to find ally, unless you want search whole island, what you can also do. Some civilians can denounce you to occupants, some can help you. Story will have more ends, most of them will have bad end. These ends will have other variation. There will be key points in the story, where story will be told and player will have to make really tough decision. They want enrich story with pseudo adventure and RPG elements. Regarding background of the story, because the story take place in post apocalyptic world, there will be sects with their own mythology. Every character will have their own history. They roughly speaking know what happened during now to moment of action 30-40 years in the future and they are planning use this plot for marketing, web and so on. Then Martin talks about guns, customization etc.

    Games.cz publish first part interview with Martin Vaňo. http://games.tiscali.cz/rozhovor/arma-3-rozhovor-s-martinem-vanem-1-cast-56723 Really interesting interview, he talk about story, so on... e.g. story will take place 30-40 years in future, so no 2025 year, it looks like 2040-50 year. Some civilians can report against you to enemys. No new video from the game, but you can see Martin Vaňo personally. I have to go now, have some duty.
