Unfortunately, I won't be able to buy it now due to the steam requirement. I use sprint mobile wifi for my internet connection. It's my best option for where I am at. Using steam for DRM is ok even with sprint connection. Install, hop on, verify the game, then play offline. But there is another problem. Even though BI will sell ArmA III on disk, I know from experience, after install the game will immediately log on to steam and force an upgrade of the game. It will try and download an update, most likely several gb's in size. I won't be able to cancel the update, and it will render the game useless until I do update via steam. I bought Wargames:EE on disk, not knowing it required steam. I couldn't install it without steam running, and as soon as it installed, it tried to update. I couldn't play the game without the update applied, even though I wanted to play offine. Well that costs me several gb's of cap that I don't want to use for game updates. The same thing will happen with A3. I am very sorry to hear they went this route with Steam. So long and thanks for all the fish, BI! I guess I am stuck with A2:CO. If the poll numbers are correct, does BI really want to lose 20% sales due to the steam requirement? Just saying...... They are still a great developer. Hope to buy their product again in the near future....

Asymmetric Warfare Group will be conducting an "Open House" recruiting session, on Friday, June 10th, 2011 at 1800HRS(ROMEO), until ~2400HRS(ROMEO). This is not "Try outs". Campaign plays great now. There's no lag in the cities after 1.05. The urban area are completely drawn. With 1.05 patch, I've been able to increase view distance, and video settings. THANKS BI DEVS and COMMUNITY for all your work on this game! Can't wait for OA to come out!

I too had this issue. 1. Closed out system tray items like ATI CAT, and Marvel Tray 2. Uninstalled ArmA 2 from C:\Program files directory 3. Reinstalled ArmA to C:\Program files (x86) directory 4. Ran same patch file without error.

I THANK GOD for BI's willingness to be open and allow such mods to be built at no charge. They are clearly the king of hill in military simulations now, and can control the free market as they like. The support of the mod community(Which I am not) is very impressive from my point of view. Thank you for a great product! I look forward to buying Arrowhead.

I run it on a D.S. It works. But like stated above, sometimes theres action, sometimes not. Completely random, which can be double edge sword.

Do you know someone with a good internet? D/L the demo game from them and put it on a flashdrive, to move it to your computer

Anyone check gamestop and ebgames latetly? They pulled ArmA II from the websites. The only ArmA game they list is ArmA I now.

IGN does nothing but shotgun blast info to all the systems. Take anything you see on IGN with a grain of salt. ArmA 2 is not coming to the PS3. I'm a PS3 owner as well.

Regardless of the state of the game, in my short time being on these forums, I am very impressed with the response from ALL the BI folks. I saw posts from the CEO trying to help individuals when A2 was released. I have never seen that from ANY company, large or small. They get a Stephen T. Colbert "TIP OF MY HAT"!

The Avenger Air Defense Weapons System consists of 8 Stinger Missiles mounted in the 2 pods (4 each). On the Right side under the pod is a .50 caliber electronic controlled machine gun. On the left is the FLIR and the Laser Range Finder. The gunner station is the same as in the Bradley. It also has a manual HUD in case the FLIR fails. The box is made of honeycomb composite, and is the last place you want to be if the bullets start flying. This is what I worked on in the Army. 27T20
