Well, I sure wouldn't want to live within the NNP's complex as a soldier, because I might start glowing in the dark after a while :D It is a Communist island but sometimes people over do it by thinking that there where army bases and watch towers on everything. I don’t think it will be necessary to have watch towers or a large base beside the plant because, who would attack a nuclear power plant? The goal of any invader is to capture the land and use it, not damage a NPP and contaminate everything, and even kill himself. Plant security will deal with any trespasser or incident and the army can be called in from bases nearby if needed.
  2. There is a water source right beside the plant. The plant layout is based on that of NPP Temelín in Southern Czech Republic, which is also a 2 reactor plant because it is based on the Soviet VVER 1000/320 design. I don't know I will see if I can fit a second reactor in to the plant somehow, I’ll just squeeze an extra chimney on the building.

  4. Hmm, well the space that I have available for the NPP is very small, so at the moment I can only fit one reactor in to that space. I am aware of the plant in Lithuania and that it should be either a 2 or 4 reactor plant. I'm not sure what I will do yet, but there is always a possibility: The soviets built an experimental 1 reactor plant on Taviana :p
  5. No, every part of Taviana is habitable and there is no restriction zone. I haven’t decided if I will remove the sarcophagus yet or not but I probably will because it’s never been my intention to re-create anything similar to Chernobyl , the Stalker game etc… on Taviana. The goal of Taviana is to create an island as similar to a real country as possible but on a smaller scale, so I added the NPP to make that available on the island and I used the Chernobyl one to save time since it’s already been made. If people want a restriction zone I’m sure it won’t be too hard to make that themselves. (Just thought I'd say that before someone says that I’m copying the Stalker idea or whatever :D)
  6. Hello everyone, So it's the end of the week and here are the promised screenshots of how the project is moving along. Although this whole area is done, I still need to name the towns, add some road signs, tweaks etc… So I’m going to spend the weekend doing that before I start on the last part of the island. I thought I’d never get to say this but this is probably the last, or pre-last update before I release the full version of the island! Offshore wind farm - support clean energy!   7. Thanks Jakerod, I followed instructions given to me by a friend to make the airport but he also gave me a link to Markman's tutorial and I used it to make the top airport which is at an angle. I'll use your advice and try to change the glide slope and hopefully this will sort it out.

I’ve have left the design in his hands and I trust that he will do an awesome job given his previous addons are all excellent. Me or Vilas will release some screenshots of them once he is ready. Wink_o: 2) Making the metro station is a bit of a pain in the ass in the current version of the engine because I have to cover everything with fake land and streets etc… AI doesn’t like that and it’s unnecessary in the smaller cities anyway. I just wanted to show the community that this kind of thing can be pulled off in a usable way, It makes the island unique from anything else that has ever been done, which is what we all want and to BIS that adding underground support to the engine would really be cool (Because BIS does keep a very close eye on community mods). As for making the metro tunnels sub terrain, that just wouldn’t work well in this version of the engine, it would get really difficult when making bends and the fake land on top would just cause a lot of trouble with the AI, the hassle involved in making that outweighs the benefits this would bring. I have experienced that when landing planes in autopilot mode on the airport beside the capital, I haven’t figured out what causes it yet but the altitude may have an effect. What “script†are you referring to, is there something I’m not aware of? I thought that airports are only set up in the island config.
  9. Hey everyone, sorry for being away for a bit... I’ve been having problems with my internet past these 3 weeks, but now it's all running good! I hope everyone here is doing well! :) I’ve been working full steam ahead and overtime past these few weeks to get as much done as possible before university starts on the 17th, and I’ve made some remarkable progress… 50% of the second island is now DONE! I have so much to show, but I’ll do that in the next few days once I add everything to the satellite and layer mask. I’m hoping to wrap this whole project up by the end of September because I just have so much more that I still want to do for ArmA whilst I still have time. Now question time… I have no idea, I hope that they will make it available on the Six Updater. Is there any way to contact them when I release the full version? Thank you :bounce3:not long to go now, I can literally see the finish line and that’s the worst feeling in a big project like this because you know you’re there but you aren’t yet… The tomb is located in the rocks right in the middle of 4 grid positions, one of them is (177,148), here is a screenshot. To get in you have to find your way in to the tomb trough a crack in the rocks, it’s a bit tricky but you can do it. Since this is your first post on the forums, I’ll give you a little welcome gift. Tell me your name and I’ll name a town on this island after you. (You can PM me if you want) ;)

Me too, but when I released BETA 1, I got so many people telling me "I can't see the custom objects on your island, I can't see this, I can't see that" so I had to tell them to extract all the .pbos and so on... So now that I got even more .pbos for oil rigs and stuff I figured there would be even more confusion Maybe it would be better if I release two download links, .zip file and .exe installer?

Yes the FPS drops A LOT on the jail island As a result I’m thinking of making only one wing enterable with interiors and the rest un-enterable with no interior to ease the number of models in the area and remove the lag.. The jail isn’t done yet so I will definitely make it enterable all the way from the outside in the next release

    GSEP Miroslavl' Beta

    I like the city layout, nice size, with some forests around this map will have lots of good potential. Will you add traffic lights, post boxes, street names and all that kind of stuff? Because right now it’s lacking a city feel, it feels like the outskirts of a 1950’s city in Ukraine to me or a village somewhere far far East. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the process you make with this :)

  16. Seriously? :eek: Like 1000000000, that's where I find most of my applications. I only got the ones that I use the most pined to the task bar or on the desktop. What if I need something that I don’t use every day? Just click the start button, type in the name and done! That’s one of the main features that made windows Vista/7 more productive than any Windows version before.

  18. This all has to do with the AI, I'm glad that it improved in 1.62 and can now use the highway exits. I hope that in future versions or ArmA 3 the AI will be able to stick to the same road instead of choosing to cross over to another one meters beside it. Let’s keep our fingers crossed (*BIS*)
  19. Thank you everyone! :) We've passted 100 000 views of this thread! I can't believe that this day came, but I've basically finished the main island on Taviana - only some forests left to do now! After this I'll finish the smaller island on the other side of the huge bridge and it’s all done. This means that I'm going to release BETA 3 with the completed main island shortly, followed by the final full version of Taviana Island in a few months. The Northern part of the main island.. A look at the largest port - Ekaterinburg. In the port I got complaint's that there are not enough forests and places to make campsites on Taviana. So 70% of the Northern part of the island are bare, uninhabited forests , rocks and fields. One more airport (Jaroslavski Airport) has been added! Bringing the total to 3. 2 on the main island, on the smaller island. Jaroslav town (Jaro-slav is an old Slavic name meaning “Glory of the spring/sunâ€).. This town is named after a real person who has given me lots of help! Jaroslav.. More farmland added! The Northern tip of the island.. Please comment, leave your thoughts..   25. I don't have SSD and I don't have any lag at all. Buy a good video card, quality CPU and install some RAM (RAM is filthy cheap these days) and you're set.
