  1. I don't think he is. I think this is the end for me - until BIS takes steps to allow addon makers to properly secure their addons I just don't think I will make any more. I don't want to waste my time like a fool, spending hours only to make someone else easy money. But as I said I won’t let a few bad apples stop me and I will still be here to give people support etc... EDIT: OR at least if I can see that this kind of situation can get sorted out even if we use the current system
  2. I doubt it, and if they did they would say what they told me: The BIS EULA says that everything created on the ArmA 2 platform is handled by the ArmA 2 EULA which doesn't prohibit servers like these.
  3. Its ok. One bad apple in the basket won't stop me :p I just hope there is something that I can do to at least stop this. I will notify admins later on when I get some free time.

First of all, thank you for your bug reports, please keep posting them - I add them to my bug list and they will be fixed in the upcoming 1.1 version which should be released sometime in the spring because I am quite busy with other things now. :( It’s a mystery ship! Damn, thank you for signing it. I will fix this in the next version. Good idea, I will see if I have time to add this.

Exchanging this addon for any sort of financial income i.e. placing this addon on a site which requires the user to pay for downloading this addon and so on... I have not been contacted by anyone from this project to obtain my permission to modify or use these add-ons on a pay server. Thing like this make me angry because I put so mmuch work in to this addon, other people where generous enough to spend their time helping me, donating their models etc.. and then someone just changes it, puts in on their pay server without asking and doesn’t even mention the authors. It’s like a wild west so there isn't much that I can do… But if you could contact YouTube in Germany on my behalf I and the others who helped me would be very great full for your help! No, if they just signed the Pbo there would be no problem. They have messed around with textures etc... Basically opened the objets pbo, replaced my textures and put their own and then make the whole thing available for everyone to download - also making people pay for their server to use this modified content on their server.     Generic African Buildings

    Very nice, excellent textures and good detail too. I would add a few more buildings if I where you just to give more variety :ok: Now all we need is a good mapper to put 'em to use.
  11. Previous experience following a HDD crash I don’t see any point in merging the games together right now because I don’t plan to use anything from OA anyway. In the time it takes me to do that I could have finished another quarter of the next city. Thanks :ok: I'm planning to release around the end of October, possibly early November.

I prefer to keep only one version of addons otherwise people will download one version and a mission for the other version and it won’t have the stuff because it’s not the correct version and this thread will be full of confused people looking for the right version :biggrin: I‘ll admit that I don’t have CO, I have standalone ArmA 2 and OA, but I never tried to merge them because I’m too scared that it will mess up my P drive and then I’ll have all those BINPBO errors and it will take me weeks to figure out how to set everything up again. :crazy: So I said I will only try once I finish Taviana.
  13. Yes I got your PM, I thought I replied to it yesterday, I'm sorry I was PMing at like 1 o'clock in the night so I might have forgotten but I got your PM. As for mine buildings, I can add them it's no problem. The problem is that I actually ran out of space on the island,I have like 1 square km available and that’s all urban area :biggrin: Have you got any mining objects that I can use, because I know I saw some in OA, but I'm aware that BIS doesn't allow using objects from newer titles in older ones and I wanna keep this map purely ArmA 2 based, no expansions required.

Finally - it’s done, and the model problems are sorted out. Now I only have about 3 quarters of the last city to go and the last mile stone will be crossed. Here are some screenshots. (I need to make the chimneys red and white tough) – Thanks to the Chernobyl MOD team from OFP for these objects! As you can see, it was tricky but I removed the sarcophagus and I made it a double reactor NPP as you guys wished. I’m off to reply to some PM’s now and then bed.

The FPS issue on the small island will definitely be fixed. I just have a little bit to go before I begin to fix bugs and try to improve FPS. I’m planning to reduce tree numbers in forests around Sabina and other areas, hopefully this will help FPS as well as a few model tweaks. Are the issues you mentioned your only concern or are there more issues you found? If so please compile a list and post it here so I can fix everything. Thank you :ok:
  17. Hello everyone, again… I’ve been really busy but I still haven’t done as much as I hoped to by now. This is mainly due to university which is taking up a lot of my time. So I’m guessing I will have to set the project back to the end of October. But meanwhile I have some screenshots of Tavianas Riviera that should warm you up now that it’s autumn! I kind of tried to give this a Balkan/Croatia look using objects that are already available in previous BIS games. I hope I got at least a bit close to achieving that look.
  18. Well, 5 days have now passed; here is the progress I’ve made since the last update! As you can see about 85% of the second island is now done, in terms of object placement. (I will need 1 or 2 days to add the new area to the satellite mask.) This city is called Mitrovice. A look at the hills near Mitrovice, and the town Štangrad, which is the Western most towns in the Republic, also has a port and barracks. Now literally bringing something new to the table - watermelons, yuuuuum! A smaller Lenin statue in Mitrovice. Nice round hill. That’s it for today I have to go to sleep. I’m going to spend the next few days making another city about the size of Lepestok.. And once that is done, and some tourist resorts and beaches the project is pretty much done :butbut:
  19. No worries I will address all the issues that I find/ have been reported. Once I release the final version it’s not the end if it, I will continue fixing new bugs and releasing further versions if needed. Another thing that I can say at this point is, if you think Taviana is cool, my next project will hopefully bring coolness to the next level :biggrin: But I’ve never done anything like it so we will see how it turns out! Thanks :cheers: Hi commanderjbug, The Antonov 225 is the biggest aircraft ever built (as far as I know), so if this fits, there is no need to worry about if a 747 or anything else will fit on to the airport

Heh I thought I removed that model months ago. :butbut: I actually downloaded the Antonov 225 addon and used it as a guide in Visitor to make sure that the two big airports will be able to handle it with room to spare 110%. These are the lengths I go to for your complete satisfaction ladies and gentlemen!

I know this is way off topic but I love the community and the people who enjoy and value my work, which wouldn’t be possible without them because they are the driving force behind it. So I take the time to answer and thank everyone as much as time allows me to. As you see I also name towns after people, add things they want and try to make everyone feel that they are part of this project and that their opinion really does matter and is worth writing. It always upsets me when I write something or see someone else suggest something and the author never replies or kind of just replies with a few words. It kind of makes me feel like I’m irrelevant and the only thing I can do is click download.. And that’s not what a community is about, there is no bond. So anyway I wish that a lot more people ask me questions, leave suggestions or just say something positive like “thanks†or “niceâ€! Just so this post isn’t totally off topic, here some progress I’ve made today: The following city is called “Bilgrad na moruâ€, which in Slavic means (Was a castle by the sea).. If you build a city around a castle and you don’t know its name, you just say “Bilgrad na†and then where ever it is. Barracks from ArmA 1, too nice not to re-use... A long time ago I always wanted to build a city protected by big castle walls. But I couldn’t find the spot for it, the spot was finally found! Catholic Church on the town square. This has always been one of my favourite building since OFP, I don’t know why lol

Since my last update (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?105530-Taviana-Island-for-ArmA-2!&p=2220546&viewfull=1#post2220546) I’m done with about 65% of the other island, which contains another big airport, nuclear power plant, a relatively large city, race track, a big port, lots of farmland, castles and forests. However the remaining 35% will have a lot of urban areas and it will take longer to complete everything. Since the second island contains a lot open flat area, my plan is to use as much of this for farmland, cities and industry. The island also features a second volcano so everything will be overlooked by a huge mountain and hills covered in forests. There will be no rail network on the second island, but a highway three times longer than the one on the main island will stretch nearly all the way around the island connecting the main cities. The island also has some nice low land around the sea so the south will have a lot of beaches, hotels, and resorts. That’s pretty much all I can tell you now because I almost never work according to a plan, everything is “freestyle “;)

Blowing it up would still defeat the whole purpose of fighting against the invader if you're the Resistance, but there is a base just up the road North of the complex, no worries You should say "terrorists®" so you don't get sued by the white house lol. I don't know what NPP security used/use because I don't know anyone that works there, but I know they definitely have AK's. I would assume they are something kind of between armed police and special forces. Feel free to correct me if anyone here knows more about this than me. :o
