Carrier Command & Consoles
sesdelta38 replied to sesdelta38's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
Alright. I suggest we get back on topic here. It says on the Carrier Command website that they plan on bringing this to consoles. Hopefully that's true. According to some info I gathered, it will come out in the Spring and website list it as being on the consoles. -

@ ch 123: It's been awhile since I've posted on this forum, but I'll be posting the of gaming PC parts I gathered. Maybe you can look at the list once I post it to see if it's a good enough list? I assure you that I did research the parts to see if they were compatible. -
I've been following this game since the announcement and trailer. According to the info I found, the campaign is historical fiction set during the current War in Afghanistan. If your wondering, the guy with a beard is a Delta Force Operator and yes, special forces in Afghanistan did sport beards. This will most likely be a little more realistic than MW2. Also, why do people, even on these forums think this game is a copy of MW2? I thought people on these forums hated MW2? Besides, didn't MW2 copy off a lot of other games? Like BF2? EA is Bad Company 2 and that's a set in the Modern Era. So, why do people think this? Other than that, I'm greatly looking forward to this game.

You do have a point, but it will take a while as I am not well versed in hardcore milsims. I'll be bcack to posting on this forum when i get this game.

Ah, I see. You made me more understanding of this situation. I researched the games on Wikipedia, and I found out that health bars were introduced in the console version of Rainbow Six 3. Also, the PC version of Rainbow Six; Lockdown, didn't have a mission planning phase and was the first game in the series to get rid of the tactical elements. As I said before, I now understand why your upset about this and that's rare, for a console gamer like me. It's also probably best that this thread dies soon. Once I build a gaming PC, I will get ArmA 2 and enjoy true tactical gaming, but I will go through a lot of frustrations, since I'm just 14.

I was sort of wondering why you hated GRAW and Vegas much. I say this because I play GRAW on my xbox 360. I have OFPDR and in my opinon, it's a good game, but it doesn't have a proper multiplayer system and there a few other problems. I can understand why your upset an d why members are upset about DR ruining OFP's reputation. if you guys are wondering, I joined this forum because I want to play ArmA 2 , but I need to build a gaming PC.

Looks like I now need to look for speakers. Also, did you say that I do not need to get a sound card and that it is already apart of one of the parts That I will need to get? -

@ ch 123: Is there a Samsung moniter that has built-in speakers or do I need to get separate speakers? Also, I'm making a different list list of Gaming PC parts. I'll put up the list once I have finished it. -
I think I'm gonna go with that CHERRY keyboard you suggested. Now all I have to do is find a good Moniter and mouse and I got my rig.
-
Now that I know which operating system to get, what sound card should I get? Also, should get a new moniter, keyboard, and mouse?
-
So I can play a lot of games on a Gaming PC with only 4GB? So you say I should get a copy Windows 7 when it comes out? I now know which operating system I need to get, but I need to know which cooling system I need to get and then I will be already to go.
-
Maybe Bohemia Interactive is reconsidering releasing it on the console and would rather keep this a PC exclusive so they won't upset all of the PC gamers who there fans. Either that or Companies are ignoring to focus on more well known console games Like COD.

@ ch 123: I decided to go with the parts you posted and I wrote them down last night and then I showed them to my parents. They had their doubts and my dad became sarcastic by saying it would cost us a lot of money, but we worked it out and they said they would get the parts when they have the money. So thanks for helping me with getting parts for a gaming PC. There are two others issues though: Operating system and cooling system. Is their any operating system and cooling system you would recommend? Also, is possible to get more than 4GB? Because, there are a lot of games that I want to run on my gaming PC once I build it. Here's a list of the games I want to run: ArmA 2 Crysis Crysis: Warhead World In Conflict Company of Heroes (including the two expansions) ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead Will 4GB of RAM be enough for all of these games?
-
Is it possible that my I could get a new cooling system or should I just go with the parts you listed? He said that I didn't need that much storage. Should I just get the new case and 1TB hard drive?
-
Would the first five parts be usable with my current computer case, instead of having to be buy a new one? My current case is an grey colored case that was made by HP.

My budget is a $1,000 budget. We are planning on replacing the hard drive because David said that the hard drive is going to break down soon and my computer currently says that as well. He already wrote down a hard drive that we can get, but he said he could rebuild the computer into a gaming PC and he knows a lot about computers. He says that he used to be into Gaming PC and he said that he played Operation Flashpoint and I trust what he says. I know which hard drive to get, but I need help with getting good replacements for the first five parts you mentioned. But can my computer be rebuilt so it can run Arma 2 smoothly and run on high graphics settings?
-
So should I replace all the parts of my PC then or should I just build one from scratch with his help? I think rebuilding my current one would save me money, because my parents have bad credit so money is hard to come by.
-
@ ch 123: A guy named David came over to my apartment today and he looked at the computer and he said he could rebuild my Computer into a Gaming PC. My computer is an HP Pavillion and I told you a few months ago that it has an intel Pentium D processor and David knows that it is not good for gaming, but he wrote down a Hard Drive for us to get and he says the my Computer can be upgraded with a new graphics card. Should I take his word for it and just go with that?

Hello everyone. It's me sesdelta38. I haven't been on in awhile due to the fact that my family recently from my house in Arlington Hts. to Park Ridge. If you guys remember, you helped about building a gaming PC to play ArmA 2. I have come back for some more help. I am making a list computer components for the Gaming PC. I will post the list as soon as I can. @ch 123: If you can look at the list when I post, then maybe you can help change the list if you feel that some parts need to be added or taken off? Any help from my fellow members will be much appreciated!:)

Thanks for the help. I think my friend meant something else, but I will have to ask again. Instead of getting a quad-core CPU, my friend said I should get a duo-core CPU. He says that Intel duo-core processors are the best out there. Is there any duo-core Intel processors that are good for a gaming PC? @ Sertorius: My current computer is NOT a Gaming PC, it's busted, slow, and the volume doesn't work. That is why I want to build a gaming PC. What kind of memory sticks should I use and how do I know if parts are can work with each other?
-
Building the computer is definitely the easy part. However, I found out from my sisters friend that the hard comes after the computer is built. He says there are compatibility issues, wiring and stuff. This sort of makes building a computer a stressful task. I'm only 14 years old and I'm no expert on computer. Can anyone provide advice on the issues that come with completing a custom built PC? Can the issues be listed so I know what I'm gonna deal with?
-
Thanks for the help guys. I would some easy instructions on which order you put each part in the chassis. Does anyone know what the Hard drive for a gaming PC is? I'm hoping on Building a PC that can run ArmA 2, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and World In Conflict. I know ArmA 2 and those two Crysis games require a lot of hard drive space. Also I thinking on getting an Nvidia graphics card. Which one would be the best though? I was also hoping on getting a Quad-Core CPU. Should get an Intel or AMD processor?
-
My budget, which is actually my families budget is in the $1,000 range.

I know that in order to build a gaming PC, I will need a graphics card, sound card, hard drive, motherboard, memory, and a chasis, but what other parts are needed? Is there specific types of graphics card, hard drives, memory sticks, and motherboards etc., that would be good? Can anyone recommend a good CPU? I'm asking because I want to build a computer that can run ArmA 2, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and World In Conflict. So can anyone help me here? Help will be appreciated!

Any good guides about building a gaming PC then? EDIT: We decided that we will build a gaming PC as I was talking to my mom and she said to write down the requirements for ArmA 2. I hope it's as easy as you guys say it is. The Newegg website looks like a good place to buy parts, but can anyone recommend specific parts like graphics, processors, motherboards etc., that would be good?
