    CWR2 - Operation Dragon's eye By CimaleX - v1.00 - A mission for CWR2 units addons for ArmA2 OA

    The little saga of NATO operations parallel to Operation Flashpoint (and in our case to ULOTC campaign) continue with the introduction of Royal Netherlands Marines - Korps Mariniers and the DDR' NVA (Nationale Volksarmee) in the struggle for the control of the tiny island of Drachenfels.

    The story: While Op. Flashopoint is in progress, NATO RRF (Rapid Reaction Force) launch a massive blockade to the Malden islands, in this way the renegade General and his troops cannot receive any supply or reinforcements from the mainland.

    To increase the already tense situation, DDR and soviet troops crossed days ago the West German border in Lower Saxony, raiding the town of Eilte, causing the Bundeswher to react in forces. The result of the DDR/soviet raid into West Germany has a consequence a radical change in the West German government, that wants now a massive attack againts soviet bases in the DDR, the risk of a full war between the two Germanies is strong, but this must be avoided.

    In this contest, NATO has mobilised several elite units of the RRF for the Malden island crisis, Netherlands mobilised 1 MARNSBAT and 2 MARNSBAT of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, or 'Korps Mariniers', they have been embarked onboard LSTs, destroyers and frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy, ready for deployment.

    NATO HQ has discovered that the most northern island of the archipelago, Drachenfels represent a strategical asset if occupied and properly exploited by our forces.

    The tiny island is inhabitated by a few dozens of people, mainly fishermen; the only village is called Drachenfels like the island itself.

    The presence of two main peaks and little vegetation, make the island ideal as a forward observation post, or to install a radar and ASW equipment (Anti Submarine Warfare) making the sea blockade more proficiency, and disturbing any operation of the soviet northern fleet in the Baltic sea.

    The sub-operation is called by NATO HQ Operation Dragon's eye, and is aimed to raid and then take control of the island by means of the deployment of Royal Netherlands Navy frigate 'Jan van Brakel' (F825) and half a company of 1st MARNSBAT; a secondary but important objective is to eliminate the NVA presence in an area relatively close to West German coast, whose government wants to strike back in forces the DDR after the Eilte raid.

    The mission: Player is second in command of a unit of five Mariniers, that together with their comrades will strike the island raiding Zodiac rafts.

    Known issues: a few radio comms I edited sometimes do not work despite my efforts to fix them.

    If player do not manage accurately the squad (n° of men available) there's a serious risk the mission miserably fails.

    Hi gents, after the last beautiful expansion addon for CWR2 by Wulle and Marseille77, I decided to finish and update an old CWR2 mission made ages ago for P85, and forgot in the wish list for a long time.

    After the last addons released by the CWR2 team recently, I decided to finish it and finally update without external dependancy:

    CWR2 Red Storm v1.1 a 1985 mission for CWR2 and DE West German Army Expansion: Soviet invasion of Eilte West Germany by CimaleXXI

    The plot:

    August 1985 - Eilte Lower Saxony, West Germany.

    The two formerly indipendent baltic islands of Everon and Malden have been invaded by renegade soviet general A. Guba in response of the uncertain situation in soviet union, surely some soviet generals are attempting a coup against reformist president M. Gorbachev. While the soviets are defeated in the Malden island by US and british forces, a new unexpected crisis opens along the East-West German border.

    A single Brigade of the soviet army supported by NVA (DDR' Nationale Volksarmee) crosses the border in a poorly guarded area, and try to reach the town of Eilte and its strategical highway.

    You as a Colonel of the BundesHeer are called to lead and coordinate the defense of the area.

    How Arremba, how are things?

    I'm cooperating to make a DLC for CWR2 and I'm helping Wulle & C. to make italian soldiers 1985 period for CWR2

    I'd like to make italian alpini form AMF Rgt Susa + Paras of Folgore Bde + Col Moschin.

    I'd need some help if you and the team have time, plus some unbin files and textures and Cfg file for:

    BM-59 all versions

    PM-12 Beretta Smg

    ACM-90 truck

    Textures for AB-212 and CH-47 (camo not green) + a camo textures olive green of the 80's

    FIAT AR-76?

    I have some soldiers mlods and some pattern, most part of the vehicles have been already done (M-113, Leopard, M-109 etc) so I would much appreciate your expertise and precious help for this addon.

    October 1972: A portugese heliborne unit is tasked to carry out a small scale search and destroy operation against an MPLA guerrilla group after they have

    successfully attacked a farm in Portugese Angola.

    Attacking defenceless farms in rural areas is a typical strategy adopted by MPLA guerrillas with the purpose to break down morale of portugese nationals in the colony, and forcing the portugese army to send troops and assets in their pursue, while the guerrillas are digging in and prepare sometimes deadly traps and ambushes, or more often running away, leaving the portugese frustrated in the attempt to catch them.

    Operacao chuva de fogo starts (Fire rain), player will lead a platoon of airborne portugese fuzileiros supported by Alouette III and Puma choppers.

    The task is simple but hard: secure the farm, pursue the MPLA guerrila group and neutralise them.

    CAS will be carried out by two G-91 R and an armed Alouette III chopper.

    Hi gents, here's my last: BAF - Afghan Trap - by CimaleX

    This is another version of my original CWR2 Takistani Trap, a very versatile counter insurgent mission adapted to various situation, the first time I mad this mission, was during 2005 still old Ofp times, using and Afghan map. Then the original old Ofp mission was converted and moved to A2 OA first with CWR2, and after involving other addons/situations.

    This time it's turn of BAF mod, together with blx ridgeback IFV and again JSRS Sound mod.

    Operation Panchai Palang, or Panther's Claw, was a British-led military operation of the Afghan War in Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan. It aimed to secure various canal and river crossings to establish a permanent International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) presence in the area. The Commander of the operation declared the first stage of the operation as a success on 27 July 2009.

    Soon after the Taliban insurgency took root in Afghanistan large tracts of Helmand Province came under Taliban control. Of all of Afghanistan's provinces, Helmand 'has been the most difficult' for coalition forces, and holds the largest Taliban presence.

    British forces deployed to Helmand in 2006, formally assuming responsibility for security in the province from US forces on 1 May 2006. In Helmand, described as 'the centre of the Taliban insurgency',they faced heavy combat and regular attacks by Taliban fighters.

    The 'latest figures' show that more than 10 attacks took place each day in Helmand Province as of July 2009, and most of the nearly 170 British forces fatalities in Afghanistan since 2001 prior to Panther's Claw were caused by the Taliban in Helmand.

    Panther's Claw was launched around midnight on 19th June 2009 with the stated aim of securing control of various canal and river crossings and establishing a lasting ISAF presence in an area described by Lt Col Richardson as 'one of the main Taliban strongholds' ahead of the 2009 Afghan presidential election.

    In what the Ministry of Defence described as 'one of the largest air operations in modern times', more than 350 troops from The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS),(2 Rifles) transported by twelve Chinook helicopters, deployed into Babaji Fasal, northwest of the provincial capital Lashkar Gah, in Helmand Province. The operation, which involved thirteen other aircraft—including AH-64 Apache and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, Harriers, unmanned aerial vehicles, and an AC-130H Spectre gunship—involved both British and American air power, and was supported by more than 150 ground forces from the Black Watch and Royal Engineers.

    Taliban fighters in the area launched multiple attacks against British forces, all of which were repelled, and 3 SCOTS secured three key crossings—the Lui Mandey Wadi crossing, the Nahr e-Burgha canal the Shamalan canal and the stronghold village of Zavarak by 23rd June.

    To restrict movement by Taliban forces, British troops also constructed several checkpoints to be manned by 3 SCOTS but eventually ceded to the Afghan National Police.

    March 2002 - Shahi-Kot Valley and Arma Mountains southeast of Zormat.

    Operation Anaconda took place in early March 2002 in which the United States military and CIA Paramilitary Officers, working with allied Afghan military forces,

    and other North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and non-NATO forces attempted to destroy al-Qaeda and Taliban forces.

    This was the first operation in the Afghanistan theater to involve a large number of U.S. conventional (i.e. non-Special Operations Forces) forces participating in direct combat activities.

    This is my second version of CWR2_Takistan_Entrapment, posted last week in this forum, further version will follow (BAF version, Pedagne Mod version).

    The original mission was pretty nice, rather difficult but versatile and adaptable to various real or fictional contests, using various assets.

    This time the operation will be moved to a real contest, the war on global terror in Afghanistan during 2002, critical phase of Operation Anaconda.

    Player has just finished a tactical briefing at the Shahi-Kot Valley Regional uscentcom HQ, and have been updated about the last progresses made by our forces against AL-Qaida and Taliban militia.

    In late January and February plans were drawn up to assault the Shahi-Kot Valley using Afghan military forces (AMF) advised and assisted by U.S. special operators, the operation was codenamed 'Operation Anaconda'.

    Player will be part of this operation, leading a squad of ten soldiers belonging to 187th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, your target is the mounatin village of Zavarak, in the Shahi-Kot Valley, occupied by Al Qaida and Taliban forces.

    This mission is rather difficult and endures about 1.10 hrs of intense firefightings against Taliban and AQ militiamen.

    CWR2 Takistan Entrapment - VMF counter-guerrilla operations in Takistan

    October 1985 - Takistan, western desertic region.

    During first months of 1985 the economical situation in the East block have worsen, while in the free world things were going fine, this had as a consequence social disorders in East Germany and Poland, while hundreds of refugees tried to flee the eastern countries.

    While Mikhail Gorbachev has come to power in the Soviet Union, his Glasnost and Perestroika reforms are welcomed by western governments, but there are communist hardliners in his own government that are unsympathetic to his cause, ready to do anything to stop these reforms.

    Aleksei Guba, a renegade general, was determined to bring down Gorbachev and make himself the next leader of the Soviet Union.

    Guba lead an army on the island base of Kolgujev, he invaded nearby Everon, crushing the militia force there, and planned to take the war to the Americans.

    Our forces didn't only reclaimed Everon but pushed onto Malden as well which bring the Americans on the edge of defeat.

    NATO leaders on the islands received an ultimatum from Guba but at the same time Guba was aware about a full NATO carrier group on route at flank speed to lend assistance.

    Both the U.S. and Moscow denied that hostilities broke out on the Malden islands to prevent panic but at the same time the USSR began a full-scale mobilization, allegedly as a military exercise.

    General Guba was in possession of a nuclear-tipped SCUD aimed at Malden but the American forces prevented the missile launch and by a massive counter-strike pushed out all our forces from the archipelago.

    At the end of the conflict we soldiers of the VMF have been forced to surrender, then after capture by british troops, we have been stripped of our weapons and equipment and sent back to Russia where we received a bitter and cold welcome home.

    After a trial where many of our officers have been arrested or outranked, our VMF regiment have been finally punished and sent to Takistan to fight the local uprising instead of a leave period at our base in Sevastopol.

    This is a rather difficult mission that endures about 50 min. with intense firefights against takistani insurgents, player will lead a team of VMF infantry, I have used some scripts and modules (First Aid, Artillery etc...)

    The plot:

    August 1985 - Eilte Lower Saxony, West Germany.

    During first months of 1985 the economical situation in the East block have worsen, while in the free world is rising up, this have a consequence some social disorders in East Germany and Poland, while hundreds of refugees try to flee the eastern countries.

    In spite of the economical supplies aided from the west to those countries that have more needs such as Poland, Czecko-Slovakia and Hungary, and the Perestroika politics of soviet President M.Gorbachev, plenty of workers strikes and violent disorders erupted all along those countries, and in Soviet Union too. The Kremlin responded bitterly and strongly suffocating the uprising and declaring martial law in Poland and Hungary, while western countries are accused to finance illegally the social and economical disaster in the Comecon countries.

    The Politburo have also planned as usual, the Warsaw Pact summer exercises, despite of NATO asking for a delay, due to the tense situation between the two blocks. President R.Regan asked for an immediate NATO summit in Brussels, sending to Europe the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, and alerting all U.S. units in western Europe, NATO declared the Defcom3 state of alert, and activates the Rapid Reaction Force, made mostly by Airborne units from Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.

    The situation has got even worse during last days, after several soviet aicraft violation of german and danish airspace, NATO forces have been alerted, while some soviet and East German units have crossed the borderline landing in a a couple of islands of the Baltic sea, Everon and Malden, formerly indipendent but under NATO control, and a few dozens of miles far from the Polish coastline. Skirmishes have been resulted with U.S. and british troops on those islands, but it is still not clear if the soviets have planned a full scale invasion of West NATO territory or whatever else.
