I took an oath in the army like every Finnish soldier does, vowing to defend my country's sovereignty. I am not that patriotic but if I had to put myself in danger defending my family etc. I am most willing to do that. If I got killed, then so be it. I'd still prefer staying alive, I didn't spend nine months learning to get killed I got many good friends in the army - I think we got a great wartime squad and platoon. It would be out of question to desert.

That LCAC picture is very nice looking. The Finnish Defence Forces received recently their first hovercraft which is inteded for combat use. It is not yet fielded operationally, but it will be used in several ways: It can lay mines, or launch anti-ship missiles. It will also have AA missiles, probably the french-made Mistral. According to mil.fi its the first hovercraft ever meant solely for combat, so it has no real transportational ability. I think this would make a great addon If someone is interested and doesn't speak finnish, I can dig up pictures and information from mil.fi Here is a picture of it:

Nice! It's a good thing that east gets something like LSD. Will you make a moving version and a static object? It looks pretty massive when compared to the boat next to it

Here is a good link for information about FDF artillery. 105 H 61-37 would be pretty good

I was playing a little cat-and-mouse game with this T-80 in a city (don't remember which one) on Malden. Basically, I was running between the buildings and the tank tried its best to get me nailed. I was ducking the machinegun fire and ended up crawling into a building. I was standing right next to a door, not having any visibility outside. I was just about to keep going when the barrel of the main gun of the tank comes through the door. It waits for a few seconds and fires its main gun. Boom, and I'm dead, but the stupid (or clever? he caught me in a very original way) tank got some damage on himself too

I've been waiting for this pack more than any total modification there is. Hope it is out in a few weeks

Combat Mission 2 has great Finnish voice acting, the same should be for this addon It would be nice for foreigners to have the radio chatter in text in English (of course), but it would create a really realistic feeling if the soldiers would speak Finnish. Imagine that when a soldier is injured, he would yell "LÄÄKINTÄMIEEES!" instead of just "Injured"

What does the collector's edition include? I assume Red Hammer at least?

Is it possible to make the shell make a wailing sound when it approaches? That would be very impressive - I once saw an artillery barrage during my service in the army, the sound the shell makes before it impacts is really nasty.

Can we get a closer screenshot?

My leopard 2 a4... need sum help!

Looks very nice! Keep up the good work and maybe post some new screenshots? A view from the tank's front would be very nice. -

It would look very pretty in Finnish camouflage How about our other new and very expensive western toy, the CV90, any plans for that? Leos and CV90s would be very nice if one wants to simulate rapid deployment brigades.

I happen to have a photocopied manual of M85 at home which I took from the army (I was a sniper) with a lot of detailed information about the sights too, so drop me a line if you need anything.

One more thing came into my mind, looks like the Desert OFP team are creating a really great looking TOW, so how about making the PstOhjus 82 (AT-4 or was it AT-5) instead? Also, it would be nice to have some objects like a pj or sissi tent

Fantastic! DKM Pasi sucked anyway. Is the model which will be released the one made by Kegetys? I saw a screenshot of it a looong time ago. How about making a TAK-85 sniper rifle? As far as I know no units have TRG-42 (the so called KIV-2000) as their sniper rifle. I happen to have a crude drawing of the Norwegian sight used in Finnish NSVs, would you like me to post it here? Edited: A horrible typo occurred ...

Has anyone tried those IL2 campaigns available in stores? I remember the other one was called Operation Barbarossa, that was a campaign for the Germans, of course. There's also one for the Russians, but I don't remember what's it called. IL2 was very nice, I was thinking of getting the OB addon. Also, about CFS3, is it possible to import earlier version aircrafts into the game? I'd like to fly with 50s and 60s jet aircraft. They are so crude but really cool to fly instead of high-tech F-18s

Is there an addon to get rid of this pesky radar?
cam0flage replied to eXor's topic in OFP : CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
I think the radar range can be limited in config.cpp, maybe it can be set to zero or something? -

Wow! A Leopard 2A4 ... didn't know that one of these was in the works. Too bad I am not an addon maker so I cannot help you, but please try to finish this model It would be nice to have a Leo in Finnish Defence Forces camo also, because we just bought 124 of these from Germany. Keep up the good work! -
Can everyone else destroy houses in WN? I cannot do it even with T-80, but Avon can do it with XM

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">When someone i know got his training to become a para they had to do exercises like jumping under a tank when it drives at full speed towards you...<span id='postcolor'> I think exercise involving jumping under a tank when it comes straight for you would be too dangerous to be implemented in any western army. The ground clearance of a tank varies a lot when it drives forward at a decent speed, might get you easily crushed between ground and the tank's bottom. I was a basic MP in the Finnish Defence Forces and we had exercises with T-72 doing a forwards-backwards motion which made the tank "jump" while we crawled under it. I got my head beaten by the tank in a pretty nasty way for few times Another nice experience was to go prone and form a column on a road. When we were ready a T-72 started moving from the beginning of the column. You had to stay still and aim with assault rifle until the tank's track was about 30 cm from your gun's muzzle, and then quickly make a roll left to avoid the track and stay still. This was trained because russian armour usually has its objectives about 300 meters behind the frontline, and it's usually employed in masses, which makes it possible that some tanks are missed by AT soldiers and manage therefore to penetrate the frontline. The best option to survive if a tank drives towards you is to lay low and still because the visibility from a tank is pretty bad actually, and it is the movement which gives up targets to the gunners. That's why you had to be able to roll aside at the very last moment. It was pretty fun to train with armour actually

It looks like a ... monster! No, not really, but looks very interesting, though I'm not that fond of establishing a lamb farm to my ofp island Maybe some New Zealanders might find it interesting but I don't.

Downloading version 1.1 right now How were the northern lights made? They look really nice. Reminds me of Lapland. Kegetys, what we need now is a finnish Nasu to cope with these extreme arctic circumstances.
