In Finnish Defence Forces there is a word called gona, which refers to a conscript who has served over 180 days and has less than 100 days before being transferred to reserve. Often misused by those who serve only 180 days, who are basically not allowed to use the term because of their short service A legend tells that the word gona was used in ancient Rome to describe a fighter who had lost his marbles in combat

It's been a while since I read it, but I remember that he is maybe trying a bit too much with the book, being only an average writer. Decent fiction anyway, if you ask me.

Bush said today. But it is also a fact that almost every army on this planet has these kind of suits, so I wouldn't be too worried about this.

How about some poetry? From the WWI era I would suggest checking out Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen. As you will find out, this anti-war sentiment isn't a completely new thing The Wilfred Owen Association

People who speak Finnish should check out www.mil.fi/irak for in-depth analysis of the military operations by staff of the National Defence College. edit: changed the word "crisis" for a more appropriate phrase, "military operations"

As far as I remember, it is currently not possible to include an "optical" sight into a wheeled vehicle in OFP. What kind of sight does the BTR-70 have?

I found my Gerber multitool/knife very useful in the army. Edit: Found the website. Here's the one I own. I can sincerely recommend this one, except it really isn't fit for making tiny tiny bits of wood for the stove if you are camping in the forest.

Then, with the lobby in pleasurable commotion, the bullets begin to fly like hail in Raznatovic's direction. One in the eye, they say, a slug to the brain; a second in the chest. Enough lead, at point-blank range, for any man to bite the dust. In minutes Arkan, the podgy, baby-faced psychopathic mobster is dead. Killed, perhaps, by some of the very paramilitaries he had reared in a rogue state that he had come to personify.<span id='postcolor'> Do you remember this? I admit that one cannot compare a person like Arkan to Djindjic, but I just wanted to point out that there have been this kind of events before in Serbia.

From The Guardian: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Only last month, Mr Djindjic survived an alleged assassination attempt when a lorry cut across his motorcade. I guess this is a prime example how there is a lot of work to do and things to solve in the Balkans before a complete peace can be reached.

Wasn't there a Blackhawk crash in Kuwait (or maybe it was Saudi Arabia) a while ago, and now this? Somehow I've been getting the picture lately that Blackhawk isn't that reliable.

Are there any anti-personnel mines as addons?

Wow, that was a rather nasty explosion in the video. Somehow I've been having this image that most of the FAE weapons are dropped with parachute? If this is true, does anybody know why?

There is a helicopter called MH-90 but it doesn't look a bit like Ofpman's chopper. I think SolidSnake is right, we are talking about NH-90 here
