Well i have done everything that the wiki says im running vista 64, 4 gig of ram and a 8800 video card and the only way i can play the game is if i gimp my 4 gig of ram down to 3096 in boot manager ? And i know 4 other people that have exactly the same problem if i start with 4 gig all i get is that shitty black screen. So please tell me how i can get arma to work without gimping my my 4 gig to 3 ?

It doesn't work on nvidia cards i have to gimp my system to 3076. And in turn if i don't put it back to 4 gig when i play OTHER games when i exit those OTHER games that work with 4 gig of ram i get a black screen and have to reboot but its all fine when my system has 4 gig of ram working.

So what's going on with this 4 gig issue ? How about a bit of feedback from the devs as to what's going on ?

Well looks like the patch has done SFA for the 4 gig of ram problem

It wouldn't want to be FINAL, we paid to beta test this fucking piece of shit game I swear to god if this is the final patch im going to fly to where ever the hell these arse clowns live and jam my copy up their arse and im not joking.

because they basically made us pay to be beta testers - edited out some swear words

i cant believe how BIS have fucked this whole game up, distribution wise/game wise. they don't seem to give a damn either

Do you want to rephrase that? You've been around long enough to know the rules and I'm sure you could come up with some other way of expressing yourself. no I don't. But i will put some little *** in the way BIS have gone about this whole fiasco is pathetic to say the least.

is it a iso or a installer ?

if you browse the CD you will see a thing called AL openAl installer just run that and it should fix it.

If you had the german SE you wouldn't be happy at all. Most of the people get CTD's and get dropped from the servers with the message "original games don't fade...". Morphicon is aware of it and they will try to include a fix in the "hotfix" they are working on that causes major performance issues in the german version compared to the czech version. So you can be happy you don't have it yet. (Placebo as well btw, cause people would rampage this fourm atm) this looks like a nightmare... every body complaining and not happy about German version.. Original DVD is a fade one.. Hot fix is needed every time we install game.. Im sure all people will buy the game 2 times when its fully fixed and 100% operational. I'm going to be sending my German version back to BIS for a refund with a nasty letter

I find if I haven't had much to eat it can make it worse as well

in halflife 2 i spewed my guts up in that water craft :P
