  1. Surfer, I'd like to help test your mission if you still need testers. I really enjoyed the Stalker series and I have just begun to delve into Lost Alpha. In ArmA I have played a few other postapocalyptic missions and campaigns which tried to re-create the Stalker feel. My squad is quite active but I am not sure how many of us are interested in your project. Two of us will definetely test your mission, we hope to fill the remaining slots later.

    Killoch's MultiNational Pack

    Wiggum, I also think that it is a bit darker than normal but Killoch's variant has a very good camouflage effect in the game. It just works very well and I'd be happy if Killoch kept his flecktarn as it is. Actually I am trying to convince my group to adopt Killoch's pack as our new standard uniforms. Killoch, you didn't put the little flags on the shoulders of the German uniforms. Technically, this is not realistic but as a player I like it this way. It makes it easier for international people to use flecktarn in their missions. If I may make a request I'd ask you to consider to offer the other uniforms in a version without any flags, too, and let people add their flags as insignia or wear vests with a flag. Wiggum, ARC made a very nice pack of Nato uniforms. The German uniforms in the ARC pack look brighter than Killoch's and you may like them better.

I'd also like to use the stamina bar and a few other addons with the same issue in SP games but Dsl has commented that the addon has been designed for MP use and he won't take the extra effort and make his addon compatible with SP. But if someone else solved the problem he would consider to include the fix in an upcoming version of the addon.

    Looking for voice actor

    There is a very lively voice actor's group in the A2OA forums. I guess the voice acting part of mission making works similar in Arma3. There are many voice actors actively offering their services in various parts of the forum. A few days ago a voice actor with his own professional recording equipment posted here on the forum. You could try and approach them instead of waiting for someone to find your thread. In any case, wellmade campaigns with good voice acting are rare and I wish you the best of luck finding the right person for your project.

    alky_lee, thanks for putting this document together. I just wanted to quickly browse through the text and then I found myself actually studying it like a textbook. It is well-written without any unnecessary fluff and it makes me want to start a new game just to concentrate on features I have missed or ignored until now. Rydygier, perhaps the guide could be published inside the mission similar to the field manual in addition to the pdf-format? This might help scoring a few extra points in the competition.
  8. Franky speaking, I don't remember precisely how TrackIr handles the zoom. But recently I noticed that zooming with the keys has the effect you're describing. This might have been introduced with a recent game update, but I'm not sure. There are two zoom levels at your disposal when you use the keys. But if you use TrackIR zooming should be completely fluent, without stopping at any level until you reach the end of the way. Have you somehow set the TrackIR to emulate the numpad + and - keys? If this is not the case, you'd better wait for an active TrackIR user to chime in. I've had great difficulties to get used to TrackIR when playing as a foot soldier which is what I do most of the time. No problems whatsoever, though, when driving. So I reverted to using the Alt-key to look around. I use voice control, so I just say "free look" when I want to enable the feature and this works extremely well for me. Obviously pausing and activating TrackIR would achieve a similar result and it could also be done with voice control if I wanted. So why don't I do it this way? Simply because I hate how my character looks at his feet when I check the keyboard.
  9. I have a TrackIR, but I don't use it a lot. My first idea for your problem is to set "pause TrackIR" to B. In an ideal world this should disable TrackIR when you use binoculars and enable it again when you put the binocs away.

    chik, it doesn't help in your current situation but you can deactivate automatic updates in Steam for the future. This way you can at least ensure that this was the last savegame you lost due to an unwanted update.

    Pepe Hal, have you considered to make a version with server keys? I'd love to suggest this addon to my group but no chance without server keys. Sorry to bother you with this request.

    I have said before that AGM has become the most important addon for my group. I experiment with voice recognition software and I have included AGM and a few other mods in a profile for Voice Activated Commands (VAC). For those who prefer to make their own profile there is a spreadsheet which lists the keystrokes of ArmA3 and these mods. Here's a link if you want to know more: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?154256-ArmA-3-Key-assignment-for-programmable-controllers-voice-recognition-software-etc&highlight=key+assignment AGM is ideally suited for programmable controllers and voice control of any kind because it adds many new features and it allows the user to reconfigure the keystrokes ingame, without having to edit a config file. This is a big help, so thanks to the AGM team for that. The more hot keys AGM offers the better. Tapping someone on the shoulder is a perfect example: instead of opening the user interface and searching the right spot with the mouse you can simply press a key (or say "tap-tap" if you use voice control software") as you pass behind your team mate in a house-to-house combat situation. It would be ideal to have key strokes for the other gestures as well. And I recently noticed that divers cannot perform any gestures at all. I don't know if this is a bug or a design decision.

    Maybe the server admin can adjust the value, but I played a game where you could give a patient as much morphine as you wanted (the option to administer morphine never greyed out) but the sixth dose was lethal.
  19. Icarus BIS has made some changes to the configs causing modded weapons to lose their sounds. This is currently in dev branch only but most probably it will hit stable branch with the boot camp update. The community made weapons will have to be altered to work with this update. In some threads modders have already commented that they are just waiting for the update so that they can publish hotfixes for their weapons.

    The limited communication in the water makes gesturing an interesting feature for divers but it seems that the diver cannot perform any gestures. As a diver, you can open the AGM menu and chose a gesture but the diver does not do anything.

    AGM has quickly become the standard addon in our group. It is nice to say to see how it evolves from version to version. Today I want to say a big thank you for a little detail and that is the small dot as standard map marker. This helps to keep the map tidy in a long mission.

    NIN3 Is your character wearing glasses? In AGM sunglasses have the effect you describe, even the clear tactical glasses make your game a little darker.

    I wonder if there is a way to optionally use key strokes to issue the commands which are accessed through AGM's on-screen menu. For example "gesture: Move!" could be [Alt] [1]. Why? I have a several currently unused programmable keys at my disposal. Such key strokes can also be handy for voice control software such as VAC.
