Well, we do now know that the fella on the armed assault page is william!
-
I think that the waves and the flight over the city are Game2 footage, though i'd be happy to be proved wrong!
-
Theres nothing in here that cant be tweeked with a patch or two. Failing that, the community will sort the rest out.

Nice conclusion to the IGN interview. It seems this game is going to be huge in every sense of the word.

Yeah, and you can read all 9 pages on it at the link below : Linky

Do you mean the famous quotes that come up when you die? From Avons FAQ: Linky Does this help?

I hope you're making a joke, aren't you? ArmA should have a nice fat AI, obeying orders, deciding and reacting in a realistic way, covering their buddies' asses, and such. I don't want to finish a mission with 12 "lifes", as Sputnik Monroe said, it's for Super Mario stuff. Only the idea terrifies me! I don't want to sacrifice my teammates! If we have useful AI teammates, we can plan, we can accomplish, we can win with reasonable losses - but why make a decent AI if the player can "respawn" 11 times in one mission? No Sir, I as an orthodox OFP fan tell you: I've got only one life and I want only one death. Mine. Pretty emotional, heh? So there are 12 main missions with multiple side missions and I'm given the option to switch at the start from a grunt, to machinegun support to sniper etc etc. Hows that for instant replayability. Or to take the point further, I like having the tanks in-game but hated the compulsary missions where I had to control the tanks to progress the campaign. Thinking about this, I sucked at the planes too but hey. Using the switching method, I have the option (if implemented as I currently imagine) to play the entire campaign from an infantrymans point of view. And that cant be a bad thing can it?

Superb video - it all looks the business. This beats E3 2005 by a country mile. It looks like everything is moving in the right direction.
-
As long as the mission designer doesn't stop someone who has not actually died, only lost connection for whatever reason from re-joining then thats all fine.
-
FYI..... I posted a request on the PCFormat Blog to visit the Idea stand as they have a guy at E3 (the comments are at the bottom of the page) Linky the response: oh, to get my grubby hands on that preview code!
-
I vote no if its going to set the release date back at all for yeah, for sure for game 2. But why just waterfalls (which could be done easily with the right animated texture)? What would be nice would be everything from small easilly passable streams to rocky streams to larger slower moving rivers to fast flowing rivers that are unpassable or sweep you down river. Now that would be worthwhile.

Hey SunTzu, If you have GOTY edition, then you should already be at version 1.75, you need the upgrade that will take you from 1.75 -> 1.96. Good luck and welcome to the board!

About Å30 for a rampant rabbit delux according to the misses. Back on topic, I'll be curious to see about Bioshock and whether it will live up to System Shock 2.
-
I wasn't sure actually who was going to be appearing at E3 so I did a search and whilst I couldn't find out for definite if Stalker was going to be making an appearance, apparently Desperate Housewives for the PC will be! What do you recon, FPS or RTS perhaps? So, yeah, seriously ArmA an Stalker.

On the majority of digital cameras that I have seen, when in video mode are limited to 640x480 resolution max even on a 6 megapixel camers (just watch me be proved wrong now.....) Lets hope he just uses fraps eh!

Removed the pics but added one new one. At least the blog is being regularly updated.
-
wow - and I thought I had seen everything in flashpoint. I'll have to have a play tonight just to see what it may have been like to have a health-bar.
-
Great stuff - at least we know BIS are future-proofing their product for the distant future when we all have 6GHz+ monster machines
-
BF2 - Primarily multi-player with limited single player mode (essentially multiplayer with bots on smaller sized maps). Sold a bucket load of copies and is good for a quick blast or if you want instant action. OFP/ArmA - Strong multiplayer with equally strong single player single missions and campaigns.
-
FFUR using your example is OFP pushed to its absolute limit due to engine limitations. With the improved engine in AA (for example enhanced scripting capabilities) that cannot be demonstrated with screenshots alone just imagine what mod makers will be able to achieve. To clarify: OFP------------------->FFUR/AA-------------------> ? ? ? I'd make it look pretty with colours and everything! but I cant be arsed.
-
He should be congratulated - the pictures are in focus and everything! On a flashpoint aspect I notice new animations? Hope he gets some decent video footage soon

UPDATED!!!!!!!! http://www.armedassault.com/william/ Then brand new photos!!!!!

Its the first time i've noticed the gun sights fading in and out when going to gun sight view and not sure if it looks quite right (quite noticable 3m15s in). But like all things it might not be a permanant thing dropped in later builds or might be optional or possibly i'll grow to like it. I've just not hear anyone else mention it.

'H' stands for half as opposed to 'Q' which would mean quarter. But remember, its an estimated date and there will be no release until a publisher is found. E3 is probably a good enough time to look forward to for hot information. Welcome to the forums btw.
