Without further investigation, my rough guess is that the important factor is how high the roadway is apart (read: above) from Geo LOD components. I think that when they're too close, random blow ups will occur. That's my theory, but I wouldn't say I'm 100% sure about it.

I remember Hyakushi said here on this forum, that his units are open for anybody to modify as long as you give him the credit. So you should go ahead with hyk textures, guys.

No, please don't do that. Give the pistol only to player, but not to AI. They're too stupid to use them. Very often when they're next to some buildings, they (AI) switch to pistols and then they become slaughtered in CQB by enemy wielding AK47 or other rifles.

No, no, no... I'm not saying that you should make single res LOD. I'm only saying: don't cut it into 50/64-meter pieces... this will solve the problem of little tiny gaps (or overlaping - resulting in flickering textures) still visible after setposing the whole thing together. That's all. Of course, you definitely must make further resolution lods with polycount cut down. Edit: FW200, your info seems not to be really acurate when it comes to gear reatracting. The planes with gearRetracting=true can land on the Nimitz safely without any problems, including blowing up. This means there's a problem with your carrier, that makes certain planes blow up when landing. There's also another downside of having planes set to gearRetracting=false. OFP won't simulate air drag when the gear is down...

Hmmmm.... I miss the whole point of remaking all these addons cause if you ask me, addons like CBT, HYK, MAP, etc. are already made to fit the current Iraqi conflict very well. ... and BAS De/Ra are outdated, why not use Laser ones instead? A good advice, use these addons as provided, otherwise players will be quite pissed of when they download huge mod file only to find out that all you guys changed are some pockets moved around, etc... You should better concentrate on a campaign... and a map. No decent Iraqi maps have been released so far. -
One technical suggestion: do not split the resolution LODs into pieces. Split only the Geo and Roadway LODs and keep them like 50m long/wide. 64m limit theory is not exact science and sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't.

Keep in mind that your OFP gamma setting is usually cranked up a bit, so all textures are 20-60% brighter in game, than they appear to be.

I'm sorry to fail your hopes, Ace, but the updated version that will be released very soon, is all that I can do for this project. In a few weeks I'll be going abroad for almost half a year, so I can't work on it (or any other addon) any longer. If remo or another experienced addonmaker aproaches me about continuing to improve this addon, this idea might come to life. Otherwise,... On the bright side... the final version is ready. All that remains to be done, is to make the readme. After that, I'll upload the files to a temporary host, but I'll need somebody to mirror the file for further distribution. If you can provide the mirror, please PM me. If you're interested, .pbo filesizes are: 40.7 MB - for regular version 67.6 MB - for SE version (CATShitOne's textures)

Nice. You guys work damn fast! In fact, I even begin to worry that you show much new stuff all the time, that at the end you'll be overwhelmed with fine tuning everything. First hand experience on that... the final tweaking takes most of the time spent on making the addon... Well, I hope everything is gonna be alright. One of my favorite mods, definitely!

I just check that forum with PM archive download function and unfortunately it's not Ikonboard, but Invision Powerboard. Well, nothing biggie, I'll have to stick to my present Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V method. Re the image link problem, it's just like hardrock showed. There's also an another problem, giving you the error message, but I can't recreate it at the moment.

Is it possible that you repack the island and release a zip only with these files: and only provide the links for the rest of the addons (most ppl probably already have them so no need to download 50-something-MBs again and again. I've been wondering about this one many times. It has been probably already asked in this thread, so I can only say I'm sorry I haven't read through all the 126 pages. To get to the point: Often, when I try to create clickable link in form of image, the board either reports an error, something about restricted image formats - or the effect is a text link with visible IMG code. Basically, I use this tags: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> and sometimes (rarely) it works, but most of the time, it doesn't. Can anything be done about it? Another question... some forums system have a neat feature of exporting the whole PM inbox/outbox in form of CSV (or any other format..) file. I had to archive some of my PMs recently and it's been a lot of work to copy-paste them all manually. It'd be very nice if you consider upgrading the board functionality with this feature sometime in the future. Thanks for your time.

Looking at the pics, it looks very nice. Good work, Remo, I hope you release it soon. One thing that makes it look Northern Africa rather than Afganistan are these palm trees, methinks. I know the Mazari Palm can be found in the region, but if you look at the pictures on the net, you can hardly ever find any palm trees on them.
