    Looking back on the events now i think reporting about that manifest in the press was a very bad idea. Many idiots around in the world and someone is bound to get new ideas from it.
  3. Depends what situations you want to tackle in the mod and in what scale. If its all about infantry battle and no riding is involved at all, then fiddling around with rideable horses for 1 year is just a waste of time. Maybe an animated horse-wagon would be better ? Maybe ArmA3 will be a better platform for horses so waiting a bit might be an option?

    Does this make sense at all? With a certain combination of settings you would see vehicles before you see the trees or buildings appearing that the vehicle is trying to take cover behind. Not realistic and could almost be considered cheating in a way. [note: i take it you mean drawing distance slider for vehicles?]

    Ever heard of outsourcing? Thats what your industry is doing right now in your country too. In a global market you compete with everyone on the planet anyway, not just those ppl in your country. Immigrants make it just more obvious to you and maybe thats why you feel this way. But send them home and they just take the same (outsourced) jobs anyway. If you cant find a job with the salery that you demand, another guy will take it - it doesnt matter in what country.

    So it seems. But planning something (with the ideas of others i may add) and actually doing it are 2 different things imo. Still the question is: would he have done the same if he wouldn't have had access to drugs 10 years ago? Or did the drugs take down that last psychological barrier in him to undermine his ability to tell reality from illusion and actually perform such an act?

    The killer has used many different drugs over the years and they suspect that changed his way of thinking. Apparently he thought he'd be some kind of supernatural hero fighting something evil, like living in a simulation. Drug usage over 10 years or more obviously can lead to catastrophies if not controlled. I know its hard to say this, but when you see it in a neutral way, answering the question whether this guy is fully responsible for his actions is a tough one.

The task is created for just 1 player, so i guess your script needs to run on every connected client as well, but since you added if (!isServer) exitWith {}; on top the script runs only on a local server. It also won't run on a dedicated server since there's no player on that. I'm no MP scripting expert though.
  17. If you install steam and add ArmA2 as a non-steam game you can start ArmA2 via steam and then you guys can use the steam ingame chat as well. Other friends on steam can see you're playing ArmA2 and can join your server.

    How about giving them a target and some random equipment to fulfill the mission? That would take the learning effect a bit further i guess, thinking out of the box & adapting etc.

    The first thing the player sees after installing & running ArmA should be a big fat option "MIL TRAINING" in the menu tbh. In its current form ppl seem to jump right into MP and try to join addon-ridden servers lol. ;)

    I liked the deaf effect. And even in Badcompany you can hear that shots in the distance do sound like firecrackers. Not from up close though.

    Getting a blurry screen is a sad excuse for being 'out of breath' imo. There are better ways to do this: - player movement is not going in straight line anymore, he tilts left / right to some extent (maybe also leaning a bit) - player camera starts slowly looking down until you watch the ground, forcing you to reposition your view with your mouse every 10 seconds - player weapon slowly starts pointing to the ground as well (you can't hold your arms up any longer) - player randomly drops to the ground when running (is done in Ace i think, good effect) - player is slowly loosing ear sensitivity (like slowly getting deaf), only his breathing is still loud, every other sound is kinda disappearing 'behind' the breathing But still the view should be crispy & sharp at all times, blurriness is just plain horrible

    Nice idea. In BadCompany1 you get hit by friendly artillery and by checking all your movement keys & weapons you kinda recover from the blast which was also very well done. And hilarious too. ("Oh look, the new guy is dead."- "Waht, - already?") :D

  25. I think you need another trigger firing if time > 900 and setting a global var to true or whatever, then use this var in your waypoint. Not sure.
