undercover spy - need syntax error spotting

Some ideas: - a guard bumping into you checks your fake ID. everytime your ID is checked theres a greater chance your cover is blown. you get a msg giving you a hint how good your cover ID still is: ("guard looks calm", "guard raises eyebrow", "guard freezes & checks another time", "guard looks suspicious") - after that last msg you known next time you'll be shot. - somewhere outside the city is an informant with a van 'selling' you a new fake ID, but it costs score-points. this forces players to leave the area and start over until they run out of score. -

I agree, use a Joystick or a Xbox 360 controller for choppers.

http://www.ea.com/battlefield3/videos/faultline-episode-2 Next trailer part is out. The squad is seeking cover on a rooftop while going into pos to engage a sniper. Heavily scripted i guess, but still nice. :) -
Danial Craig in CGI: Next Bond film. Worst idea ever?
-)rStrangelove replied to max power's topic in OFFTOPIC
Anyone bought those Bond movies on Bluray yet? Ppl on amazon say its worth buying them again. :P -
Want a good campaign? Buy AssassinsCreed:Brotherhood, its coming to PC right now. I had about 30 hours of pure fun SP and then stopped to replay it on PC. :) MP is great, too.
-
Gamers on guru3d say game starts at full fps then slowly drops down, could be a mem leak needing a patch. :( Not gonna buy.

Poker & Aston Martin DBS. 2 things why i loved the movie before seeing it. Afterwards i loved Daniel Craig too. Oh, and that blonde girl of the hotel staff Bond uses to find out who drives that classic Aston Martin. Cute. :) -
- ArmA2, Lord o.t.Rings online, AssassinsCreed MP - trying to find cool ideas for little games in Eclipse (Java, Android) - composing metal/rock instrumentals on my eguitar in Reaper (http://www.reaper.fm/) - constructing a little homerecording studio with 2 other guys - watching movies on my 42" Samsung LED - Gyms / finding a way to eat normally without gaining weight - trying to get WoW fanatics over into LotRO (and failing horribly)

True. What CasinoRoyale gained back was almost entirely destroyed by QoS again. GJ. Something like a CasinoRoyale2 is badly needed to get the drive back. I doubt it though. -

Performance: Spawn AI or DisableAI ?
-)rStrangelove replied to PeterBitt's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I'd say in general performancewise its best to spawn something. Tricky part is to get the spawning distance right so the player doesnt realize it. Once he sees something spawning in front of him the emergence is gone. So i guess you should do what you feel most comfortable with. Both ways can destroy your mission if you do it wrong. -

And you can tell by just 1 small trailer? ;) I doubt there's only 1 helmet in Skyrim so if you dont like horns dont buy. Personally i find the black cape of the DarkBrotherhood much more interesting. Arrrrr! :D -

Personally i think todays games ship with less SDKs because: 1. Game code & libraries are getting more complicated with more & more features and are heavily licenced by 3rd parties (EA's animations is just 1 example in this case). 2. Gamers are more motivated to buy DLC without any custom / free content available. [edit] BF3 SOUND DESIGN Interview - AWESOME! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YosYceCN1MA&feature=related -
Crysis 2 PC Demo [Download link]

Nuthin' wrong with pinball imo. I could live without Crysis2 though. The jungle and the sandbox approach made it somewhat special and entertaining. Somehow choosing NY as the new environment pretty much screwed all that. No point hiding behind small 'oneway' signs and garbage bags imo. :P -
Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3

Yawn. More instant spawn enemies, friendly bots who fight for you, strawberry jam in your face and RPG spitting n00bs with superfast perks running around in MP. No thx. -
I think FADE is kicking in on a game I paid for.

Would help to know what you have in your pc. As Gnome says, temps are needed too. -
Steam - opinions and experiences survey
-)rStrangelove replied to maruk's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I voted NO. I'm NOT against Steam in any way (i have a Steam account with +40 games in it) but in this case it seems most ppl having problems with CombinedOPs are ppl with Steam. 1. Managing the mod line / start parameters is more complicated on Steam. Custom launchers / updaters working alongside Steam is another story. 2. BIS biggest advantage is the constantly fast distribution of beta's and patches. On Steam this won't be possible anymore and will come down to a crawl. 3. Steam has problems with game versions of different countries. We here in Germany love to buy UK versions and lately Steam has issues when i try to activate my game on my german account. Valve announced 'they are looking into it' but thats not going to happen soon and nobody knows what they'll come up with. 4. Steam running in the background is another app which could be avoided as its not necessary. It might not be a resource hog like Microsofts GFWL, but as we all know ArmA2 needs every system resource it can get so why make this harder than it already is. 5. Steam's friend system might be interesting but when looking onto ArmA2 MP community i get the feeling its not needed at all. - public servers fill up with random ppl and missions tend to get cheated to death after 1 hour anyway. no friend list needed here since you dunno who you meet on a public server. - clan servers are passworded for obvious reasons making you register on their forums anyway. most of them have teamspeak / server monitors on their websites so a quick look reveals who's playing - again, no need for Steam friends. - Loose groups which share the same interests can schedule matches here on the BIS forums via PMs anyway. So: Steam complicates things and is not needed. Plz don't do it. -

Realistic or not, it surely looks like the best mil shooter out there atm. Personally i'm looking forward to the coop mode, i guess its me & friends against waves of AI until a countdown is up. Should be fun :) -

I LOLd when the guy was shooting AT rockets out of his backpack. Jeez. Why do they still carry mags at all? Why not just fry everyone's brains out with an energy blast only lethal to terrorists? :P -
Haha. They probably just wanted to measure the correct distance before the actual shot. Reminds me of the laser-targetting of the Abrams. ;)
-
A laser pulse? Isnt that like they wanted to shoot us?
-
Those rocks were patched mate. Or you found some new ones. :P

With a 50m object limit its hard to do skycrapers & other stuff. And hardly any building would be enterable. A small suburb of NY could be done though. Would love to see a US city/village area. :)
