I know of the Marder 1A3 IFV that the turret is moved by gearwheels providing quite a fast movement of the turret. But I can well immagine that modern MBTs have a second battery/power source to move the turrent. For sure an emergency system when the tanks engine is damaged.

Ok sorry I need to correct that. You'll need a monster rig if you want to play the game in a good graphical quality. I have a Radon 9600Pro myself and it doesnt really work. It doesn on low of course but then again.. honestly at that stage OFp provides better graphics. So if you want to enjoy the game in the quality you have seen pics and movies from, THEN you need a monster rig. Otherwise a upper standard PC would do quite fine in medium Id guess.

If you live in the US, than its worth the money because its no more than $20 The AI of course is not that professional but there are certain "tactics" they also possess. One being for example to shoot like a sharpshooter even with a pistol If you want anything that tactical you need to be dedicated in the game!! This means that a period of 3-4 or even 6 month to completely get into the game and invest a lot of time in so you can join a professional clan that always/only plays like that. And ONLY buy the game if your rig is monster strong

Although I must confess that this is some how a neat idea, I'm not sure if I could / would want to live with that. This would complicate things a lot... and would probably after a while step on everyone's nerves and soon you have another thread pleading BIS to remove it again. But on the other hand I remember that something "funny" was announced for Game 2. If for example one of your mates tells you about his Girlfriend and how she cheated on him, the decision wether you listen to him or now will affect his feeling and thus his combat performance in battles. But again.... ArmA players play the game mostely in MP, honestely not many very or really expereinced users play ArmA in SP or campaign. Maybe every now and then again. So all this civilian protection system or whatever would have no great effect. One other point is that the community of ArmA/OFP is pretty much adult, this means that we dont run around and frag and rape enemies like in other games (namely CS, BF2) but love tactics and most professional ArmA gamers tend to save civilians. my 2 cents

If you dont want to do so ... advise your AI to "shoot!" or "attack!" or "engage!". (cant remember what it was) After your AI has targeted the BMP, hit his number e.g. 2 and then the command combination 3-3 or 3-4 which will FORCE him to fire. This brutal way, you can even designate them to target friendly (even yourself) and actually really force them to pull the trigger.

Well ... many people that play OFP/ArmA were soldiers. And some of course still are or did recently serve and some for sure are sharpshooters or snipers. And even if they are not, there are many people dedicated in this and would love to have it exactley like the real thing. I personally would spent a week to be perfect in sniping. There are in fact clans that do these things at a very unique and professional way, everyone has his profession in some way, I remember my own old Dragunov training missions I created on desert island and spent a daily 20 minutes on them. Anyway... Im in for more features and more realistic sniper optics.

Stick to OFP ... that is my advice Ive delted shitty ArmA off my harddisc. Why dont you have a look in ebay ? I could get the GOTY edition here for 15 € .... search some local stores, they might have a copy or two.
