This is ArmA ... and not Ghost Recon. Don't get me wrong but this game is the most special thing you will find around. BF2 may be fun for some time, but is no solution at all for real oldschool OFP gamers. All of those people were in deep love with OFP, at a stage never reached with women. These men would rather die than having their precious OFP (now ArmA) be like any other (in my opinion) cheap game. I proudly confess that OFP has affected my life more than all the girls I had (not too much anyway lol). NOW I might go a bit too far but I still say proudly that OFP for me was more a philosophy of life but a "game". Welcome to the OFP/ArmA community

I remember having read at some place that in 1.05 you can turn off grass in a menu if you wish. I couldnt find that ... is there that option at all ? If yes, where can it be found. Thanks!

MI24 HIND : is it worth starting one ?

same here! -
LOL it would indeed, I had a good laugh. After assigning their targets, you can tell them "Fire!".. I think it was Radio 3 - 3 and "Engage!" Radio 3 - 4 (at least in OFP), then they REALLY HAVE to do it.

Hi! Talking about Andersen Gunship Deathmatch ... I loved the map, it was full of tension and fun. Great craig for some 20 or 30 minutes. Is it possible to convert it into ArmA ? Or can someone create something alike ? IMO this is a must as Andersen is one of OFP's classics.

Muchas gracias senor, I've downloaded both Rahmadi versions NOW I'm ready for ArmA. -
I would too say that they are accurate. I know that the BMP2s gun is not stabilized and still it can hit man-sized targets from 200m without problems when moving. Dont underestimate IFVs or APCs - they have a shitload of weaponary and sights with magnification.
-
I second that! And especially for those with bad graphics, it is hard to tell a bush from a man. And in the distance objects disappear unless you zoom in all the time and then again you lose the feeling for the distance and cant judge right. I think that the M203 and GP25 sights are a must in ArmA.

Pictures say more than words ... American M203 system: Russian GP-25/ GP-30 system:

Are you really complaining the drop of FPS to an average of 30+ FPS ?? Be glad that you have that much ... lol - Jokes aside, nice idea to have it tested. Well done.

Tanks: no magnification available when targeting?
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- replied to botmund's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
To get back to the very original question ... in OFP I often used NVGoogles to spot enemy armour units. They reflected a certain amount of light, I dont know if this works in ArmA aswell. But I think I get your point... it would be nice of tanks would have an InfraRed vision, so you can spot infantry and enemy tank as in real life. -
I proudly present the newst and probably the most funny ArmA bug: Shooting from your chest, without any weapon LOL watch yourself!

EDIT: sorry my doublepost, internet was lagging

What I personally pay HIGH attention to is that the DDR2 ram is 800 and not 533 or 667 Mhz and that the CAS times are low ! This is so damn important !! And so is the use of a RAID0 system (optimal with SATA2) which gives you HDD speeds of 120 MB/s in average. If you pay attention to these two points you will have ArmA run much smoother. -
I wished I never had read this thread .... come on people, GOD Mode in ArmA Is ArmA really becoming a CS clone ? Dont bother to answer, I wont come back to this again This thread should be deleted .... we're being unfaithful to OFP and ArmA !

I doubt that a chopper in a standard operation flys any higher than 500 meters. But anyway.... the chopper simply crashed over sea ? Didnt ever happen to me .... Id say you had a bad pilot.

So when do the german beta testers....
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- replied to Pulsar's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
To the moderators ... Until now, every thread Ive seen regarding patch 1.05 was closed after a few posts. I understand and respect that it has been told 1000 times that it will be released by the end of the month, and later at 02 March but can you please leave one thread open ? The idea of having one open thread is that people can then discuss the improvements and changes in that thread with the help of the improvement-list readme BIS includes. If you leave one thread open, there wont be 15 more "when is patch 1.05 coming out?" threads you need to close. Thank you
