Schmalfelden, Germany Map
-23rd-_2Lt_Griff replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Awesome map mate. Been playing co-ops on it all weekend and it has been absolutley mint! The flat open terrain makes a welcome change to the hills and mountains of ArmA. Also makes ambushes that bit more challenging. Keep up the good work! Griff -
Yeah it is correct that you cant join direct to people servers through XFire. The idea is to use it almost like social networking for ArmA, so that if you fancy a game, u can just look on XFire, see who is online and is up for a game. Makes setting up game that bit easier :-) PS - Thanks for all the XFire Usernames so far, will add you all tonight when I get back from work

Hello everyone, Long time no update. RiflesGC is still alive and kicking! We have been busy on our servers playing lots of IL2 and ArmA. We are continuing work on our new website www.riflesgc.com, and are expanding our collection of missions. We have also released a new addon pack, which has a compilation of many new weapons and features to spice up our missions. A big thanks to [CAS]Daniel for all his work on reasearching and putting this pack together. The link for the new addons is: http://www.riflesgc.com/downloads/@RiflesPlus.7z As always our teamspeak and game server is always public, so feel free to pop on if you fancy a game! Edit - To give you a rough idea of what gaming in RiflesGC is like. Here are a couple of youtube videos taken from both serious and fun missions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pPIxF6ew_c...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7qy1qbyTSs...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EcCuzSfGG4...feature=related Griff RiflesGC -
Welcome back to the field Sah. (I have had the pleasure of gaming with this gentleman back in 1.46/1.96 [23rd] GD days.) I wish you and your unit the best of luck. Questor and Smiley both extend a warm welcome also. Regards Griff RiflesGC

Your completely correct, if you own the software then and it does not say in it's terms and conditions that you are not allowed to use one, then you are fine. I have a legal direct to drive copy of SWAT4 on my PC, just because I don't use a CD doesn't mean it isn't a legitimate copy? It comes patched like that... Sorry to hear your original thread was locked, hope this gets sorted out soon!

Hello everyone, Long time no post ;-)! Well I just thought it was time for a quick update to inform you our new dedicated 1.09 server is online. The IP is 217.112.82.5 for both Teamspeak and the Game Server. It is a fully public server and only requires one addon pack from www.theriflesregiment.co.uk (Media - Downloads - Rifles Addon Pack.) The Rifles is still recruiting so if you are interest just pop over to our website and click on recruiting. Many Thanks and a late Happy New Year to you all! -
That might be a bit to ambitious. 200 v 200 no matter what the server is gonna cause some problems. But I like where this is going! How about we organise say 50 v 50 but in a closed combat environment. Say 1 position 1 defends. If we have some pre designated squad leaders and one overall commander on each side this should be quite easy to do. I think it would be important though to limit the 'heavy' weapons. By this I really mean AFV's and IFV's. As they can tip the balance to much in ArmA. The more simple it is, the easier I think it could be to do. Infantry Only Default Weapons and Kit (no addons) Simple map with decent scripts Some civi spectators filming it to review afterwards. Ooooo sexy time!

Ah excellent!

Awesome I really like it...adds that extra level of fear and caution into the game! Good job.

Signed, Smiley I would be crying if your mod is not released in Armed Assault! :-( -
I feel ArmA 2 could have a lot of potential to be a fantastic game. But I am not getting my hopes up, just because its not good for any of our blood pressure. :-) I am sure BIS will listen to all the feedback they have had on ArmA and put it into action. Just rememeber that ArmA was only ever going to be like OFP 1.5 and they where very open about that. Now that can work on an awsome new game, that hopefully includes some of the old ideas that where mentioned in that lovely PC Gamer article all that time ago ;-).

Calling Rocko a noob...wow your really doing excellent work for the UNA reputation on the BIS Forums. Sound like a realy mature bunch of guys! I hope I didn't sound too sarcastic
-
Sorry but that pic changes nothing..and did you have permission to take the addon from the mod... I am getting sick and tired of Clans that think they are above the community. Ask before borrowing it is simple! Doing it any other way is stealing!

*Stands ready foaming from the mouth*

Sooo what are these? Early stolen mock ups? I dont get it, either way someone has been stealing addons here!
-
I shall tackle this point from a different angle me thinks. I love ArmA let me put that out there first. But I don't love all of it. Instead of me writing half a page of rant which will get me nowhere I have figured out the best balance for myself. Others may agree. I play ArmA for multilayer. It is a lot better than OFP online, just because of JIP and the larger environment. However I play OFP for single player, just because it's story line and quick missions still get me every time. So ArmA for Multi awesomeness, OFP for Single Player immersion.

Very true SouthSaturnDelta. I was trying to convince a mate the other day that Arm A is awsome. He was playing it SP and was telling me about all the troubles he was having. I sorted him out in 3 stages, patched him up, gave him some good SP missions, and adresses of MP servers to go to, and even gave him my spare mic so he could use Teamspeak. Now he won't stop bugging me about how awsome the game is. I think ArmA really does follow the rule, never judge a book by its cover.

turning tracers off on a server ?????
-23rd-_2Lt_Griff replied to Rambo-16AAB's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
It may be just that your server hasn't recognized the change. I personally turned our Tracers on from off on our server. It does take some fiddling with the Server Config to get it working. When I get back from work I will post the steps I did to turn them off and then on. Its quite simple but I cant think of it of the top of my head. -
Yes cannot wait to get more US community in the field. As in OFP they made up a large amount of the tactical gaming community. Congrats US :-)

-23rd-_2Lt_Griff replied to XJ220's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Something you should maybe bring up with the place you bought it from not with the people who made the game itself. This is an issue with the publisher not BIS itself. Send a polite email to there Customer Support, and I am sure they will be able to assist you further. -
Once again I agree. The way I look at it there is no other game like Arm A. Many other games are released, using cool new features, and original styles of play. I am happy to play those, but only when I am waiting for people to get online for Arm A . Arm A is unique game, nothing else remotley like it, other than OFP. No matter what new game is release, and how cool and amazing people say it is. I will still only want to play Arm A. I think most of you guys will agree.
-
/Signed Nothing more I could have hoped for from Arm A. Over time with editing tools everyone will be able to edit and change the game any way they wish. Can't wait to see what Mod's and addons are released when the tools are out. Fantastic work BIS, I never complained promise.

I have to back you up. Processor: Intel® Core™2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM 900mhz Hard Drive: 635 GB Total Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Sound Card: SB X-Fi Audio [CF00] Operating System: Windows XP Media Edition Same error. But with JIP and only playing on multi it isnt to much of an issue for me.
