Nice new site, works on my crappy mobile too. I can't believe how good the detail is on the Astute class model. Looking forward to more video.

Illegal rebels. lol. That's what rebellions are for, dragging down the system and starting again. Internal laws don't apply when you're baying for your leader's blood. If only the poor souls on Syria were having as much luck.

Powerful interview. It's unbelievable how many civilians are being killed over there every day.

I'd like to see a very discreet trajectory system.

This is it for me. My Dad bought me and my brother a tub of Army Men when we were old enough to know not to eat them. It kind of took flight from there. I also love the application of tactics in games like Arma, seeing stuff work, and the odd adrenaline rush when things go really good or really bad. Same goes for airsoft I suppose, running around with sticks and toy guns in fields as a kid.

World's first manned electric helicopter

That should definitely be in TakOH. I'd love to do that for real. -
[offtopic] It's about running around in the fresh air with your mates, shooting at other people without killing them, getting shot without getting massive bruises and generally having a good time. It's also a lot more sociable (albeit arguably more expensive) than playing PC games. ;) I'd recommend it to anyone that likes their wargames and adrenaline (anyone that's ever lit a grenade during a game knows what it does to your heart rate (and what it does to your thumb if you don't light it properly :D)). If you joined the millitary what branch would you be(army, navy, airforce etc.)
Daniel replied to navy996's topic in OFFTOPIC
Especially if you start telling people you're SAS. Quickest way to make people think you're a fruitcake. I remember reading one of the recent Apache books, one of the blokes was quoted as saying how none of the girls he speaks to ever believe he actually is a military pilot. Think it was Apache Dawn. -

You also don't have country or international laws to back you up. -

Excellent video. As already said, cool soundtrack. -
Not a very high priority perhaps, but it is one of the primary reasons and advantages for using that type of sight. It would be nice to see.

Wind Lens 3 times more efficient than conventional turbines
Daniel replied to walker's topic in OFFTOPIC
Thanks for the correction Mr PELHAM. So in that case, does fitting tidal generators between wind farm towers become viable again as a reliable addition? I understand you can't put tidal generators just anywhere for environmental reasons, I assume wind farm locations would already be picked to have minimal impact. Two birds with one stone perhaps. -

"wat" as in "some of us have no idea what STGN just said". But I guess it was aimed at Walker anyway. Cheers Walker, I appreciate the reply. I wasn't aware offshore-type windfarms weren't actually on the seabed. -
Is this possible? - FPS-russia blowing stuff up with sniperrifle
Daniel replied to johanna's topic in OFFTOPIC
Honestly cannot believe there's a thread here bashing FPS Russia. Does elitism here know no bounds? The guy makes YouTube videos of himself shooting and blowing shit up, that's a hell of a lot more awesome than the majority of crap on the internet. -

Offshore wind farms should have tidal generators built into their foundations = reliable energy in the absence of wind. Does that sound plausible? -
But would you concede it is the suspected reason why much of his forces deserted for the rebels? Then surely the benefit of the doubt is that he gave these orders and can therefore be judged unfit to run his own country. That should go for any nation without exception. On the topic of "why now?". I guess NATO can claim to help a population change their regime if they the people are willing to initiate the rebellion and make sacrifices. The Arab world set the precedence for regime change earlier this year without heavy handed Western involvement.

His point stands though. If you allow key-less addons, you allow hackers by default. You have to either stick to keys or trust who you play with. Personally I choose the latter.
-
Yeah... Apparently the rebels have now taken to bombing Gadaffi's compound with their own jets. That's since been revised as NATO jets, thought that was a bit odd.

More on the Scud launches:

Reports on the BBC website that a Scud's been launched, no hard evidence yet, could be rumour / miss information.

I recently bought a D7000 body after I wrecked my D40, which was my first proper camera and served me well. Can't say a bad word about it, it's really easy to get the most out of it and all the settings are at your finger tips. Only thing now is that it's making my old lenses looks a bit crap...

For landing bigger vehicles than the C-130. Although a C-17 performance take off should be enough merit to include them. ;) * * * Thought of something else. Falling Over And Getting Back Up. It sounds simple, and it's probably been mentioned. I reckon it'd help in a few situations though. Nearby explosions could knock you off your feet with or without causing injury. Collisions, with cars for example. If melee did see some implementation, a good whack could knock you off balance. Running off ledges, or off rocks, buildings, etc. Any fall from height that's not immediately life threatening.
