AH64 Apache and other helicopters - some suggestions
Daniel replied to Ollie1983's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
It's worth checking out the Apache aspects of these two mods: Advanced Combat Environment (ACE2) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=115808 Mando Missiles ArmA (MMA) http://www.ofpec.com/ed_depot/index....details&id=653 They change and add systems to make it a bit more realistic. -
Is there cope for more support uints/vehicles or just more toys?
Daniel replied to Ollie1983's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Wrong thread. :P -
I think we should buy Harriers. They've got a pretty good track record.

Brother in the Land is a good/depressing book for young adults. That gave me the shivers for a while.

Are you certain MMA doesn't disable "guided" Mk82s? I thought it overrode the default locking method? -
Apache 30 mm gun Vs Tunguska

If you can get away with avoiding it, do so. There's a lot more to the mission. ;) -
I really don't have a problem with Apple. I just don't buy their products, simple. lol http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1867515&postcount=20 :D

It still depends which warhead he means. This. -
What is the premise of Carrier Command?
Daniel replied to TacKLed's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
I always thought it was "guy-a". -
It was meant in reference to this: Let's be honest, he did pretty well for a guy using a half-broke 60s AA gun.

So much for Zu-23s being unfit for taking down jet fighters. Just goes to show real life doesn't play by the rules.

This is an interesting exception.

Haha, that freaked me out! Disgusting. :p All fixed.

Right click zooming, an alternative
Daniel replied to Michael Withstand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Exactly, you still need to be able to view distance objects at 1:1 even when not using a weapon. There's no point only including it for firearms. Render to Texture would be nice for scopes, but the RMB zoom will still be necessary until there's a revolution in visual displays. -
Good men. Doesn't seem like the same can be said for some of their comrades. What a mess.
-
@Pulverizer Do you play Arma for a simulated combat experience or for running up and down hills? If it was a long distance running simulator, that would be something for BIS to focus on. Since it isn't, and since it's a combat simulator, it's right that it can be left out, along with jumping. It's not a major aspect of modern combat, and would arguably do more harm than good. More dynamic mantling would be a better focus.
-
I'd assume we can still place it in the editor, or at least through a mission template. Just means it can't move in game.
-
tired of simplistic soldier status, this is supposed to be a simulation!
Daniel replied to tacticalnuggets's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I made it seven meters then my brain broke. -
Issues with Gun Laser and Tac light
Daniel replied to SAS Capt Sniper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What do you consider a decent FPS? 10 certainly isn't. You should really be aiming for a steady 30 to avoid any slow-down related glitches. -
I think the key is consistancy. If there's any slow down, it's suddenly very noticeable, but as long as it stays the same your brain accepts it as smooth. Some interesting reading here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate
