Do like this, heard it on the radio last year. Really sticks in your head.
  2. Dosenmais, skulls represent mortality. Everybody dies. What more mortal subject is there than front line conflict? If you only see Nazism, that says more about your own psyche than anything else. JdB's already put a good post in on the moderator thread, should sort this out.

Star Wars - The Old Republic

I basically missed it too, I have memories of playing it in awe at a friend's house.

Star Wars - The Old Republic

Sounds like you missed X-Wing vs TIE Fighter. Possible remake on the horizon too. DSt-jucEv0s&feature=related

SOPA - Internet as we know it about to be gone?

I read Dan Brown's Digital Fortress and decided i'd never read another of his books. That was a long time ago though. EDIT: Crap, thought I was in the book thread. Disregard. :p
  6. To quote your own link: "No member of the Bin Laden raid team was among the dead". Getting tiresome now.
  7. Dosenmais, kindly stop trolling these forums. Nazis were hardly a shining example when it comes to killing those they consider "savages" en masse. Fox is down there with the Daily Mail in terms of sources. Skulls have always been cool, live with it.

    Any interesting books to recommend?

I've read Crossfire. He's not the most elegant writer in the world (if he even writes all his own books), but Crossfire was alright. It had some interesting bits and was pretty immersive. EDIT: Mixed up fiction and non-fiction. FPDR

    Any interesting books to recommend?

Any of Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. I can recommend: Consider Phlebas Look To Windward Matter Surface Detail Sci-Fi on a grand scale with good plots, witty characters and brutal circumstances. He manages to write around a lot of the usual sci-fi cliches.

After Kim Jong-il: The Future of North Korea

China has more than enough food, seems odd that NK should have to ask the US. Still, it's a good sign that Jong-il's death might bring about some change.

Nice, ordered this. Sounds similar to 13 Things That Don't Make Sense by Michael Brooks, another good read.
  12. Nothing, we're just capable of discussing it without feeling the need to state how awful and terrible everything is every post. It's fairly apparent to most people. The subject wasn't "military" in general, it was about how to go about fulfilling an objective. In which case Beagle is completely right in saying that "killing all opponents in the AO" isn't necessarily a victory.
  13. I've just stumbled across Wargame - European Escalation, and it looks pretty awesome. In fact it looks like a real time strategy version of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Set for release in the first quarter this year. Website Screenshots Interview

Valve are making a Warcraft game? Blimey, that explains the votes. Voted Arma 3 of course. Also looking forward to Generals 2, Planetside 2 and MechWarrior Online.

    Passangers firing from vehicle.

Tanks and gunships use stabilised weapon platforms these days. But who says you need to be firing accurately to justify being able to fire from vehicles, anyway? Being able to respond to incoming fire and being able to suppress a target is just as important.

Knowing the defence industry it could be any number of reasons beyond pure performance... ;)

Realtime immersive - Militar simulator cryengine

How do you define Arma with a different engine? How do you distinguish Arma from the RV engine?

    Thoughts on using enemy uniforms

So the AI that sometimes take cover on the wrong side of an object should now be expected to tell how much blood is on a uniform? And what should their response be? If you spot a soldier dressed in your side's blood stained uniform, do you shoot him? Or do you ask him if he needs to see a medic?
