Guys you should really try playing with Xbox 360 controller on PC
Daniel replied to dr_zakharotta's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Sorry but it looks really slow and clumsy. I'd really recommend spending a bit more time in first person view with a mouse. Eventually you get a really good sense of space and aiming gets faster. I'd like to see a vid of some street or house to house combat with a console controller. -

Yep, be sure you can determine "petty complaints" from friendly advice. -
Introducing Take On Helicopters by Bohemia Interactive

Certainly backs up what RiE was alluding to. :D -

Having dead units able to fall down stairs would be a big plus in Arma, as would a tighter driving experience. I just can't hack the console style movement. -
Form submitted, along with a little constructive criticism. Some interesting questions. I don't see the issue.

Because if the media can spin a story out of something, they will. Also if you're not a seasoned gamer, it's very easy to view such a concept as bad taste. Especially if your fellow countrymen and women, neighbours or family are out there risking their lives. -
It shouldn't be like that though. You should pay full price for a game that works properly from the start. If we accept releases of this state they might as well charge us to beta test too. Although, if you're willing to pay regardless, be my guest. I'm happy to wait for a fully working version. In the meantime, i'll wait for more positive reviews.

More to the point, CWC didn't depict an enemy that the US was fighting at that time. Having the player fight against the US as an insurgent would be doing just that. That would cause a stir. -
Are you being sarcastic there? Reviews by general members of the public ought to be as unbiased as possible. They aren't out to make a profit, and they're not being paid to give a good review, they're telling you how it is. If this game was working as expected, it wouldn't be getting this level of bad press. At least that's what my intuition and my wallet are telling me.

What's the overall best rifle for the AI in Arma II?
Daniel replied to David Schofield's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Aye, DaveP, Jeza: In full agreement on the M16 + irons, it somehow makes a great weapon. But this thread is about how AI handle weapons. void_false, It shouldn't break gameplay unless you go crazy with the numbers. I haven't played the campaign so I don't know how the enemy are set up to be begin with, but I think it's fair to say your friendly troops should be better fighters than your enemy (although I am a biased Brit :p), and if you feel you're being shot in the head a little too often, consider turning enemy AI accuracy down a notch. -

void_false, Tweak enemy accuracy down and turn up your team mate's skill and accuracy. It sounds like cheating but it's for your own enjoyment at the end of the day. Your professional troops should in theory be more competent than your untrained/conscripted adversaries. -
Realism VS. Arcade style fun
Daniel replied to nightsta1ker's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
I'm glad they're pushing the co-op aspect. Spending five minutes setting up helicopters is much more fun when there's a bit of banter involved. -
I bet with a bit of luck, a Navalised Tranche 3 Typhoon could even take down a Harrier.
-
No, Harrier will win every time, hands down.

rolling wheels on helicopters so you can taxi
Daniel replied to Baz's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Yep, i can definitely confirm that. Very odd. -
The Zombie DLC is a joke, the game itself seems real. :)
-
Dammit JonPL, was wondering why mine didn't make the list. :p

Haha, nah I was thinking more in terms of: You take on a crop spraying job in Chernarus. Insurgency breaks out and you have to fly relief missions across the region while maintaining a low profile... I can see a lot of cameo appearances cropping up. Or: Flying oil prospectors around Takistan. Ferrying plain-clothes CIA/SpecOps across the region. Utes annual helicopter race...

To Paint!! Tell me your OS has Paint...

I was counting down to this release, shame I've been persuaded to pass for now. :(

It takes place in the armaverse and there'll be conflict. This is going to be awesome.
