Iron Front - Liberation 1944, new WW2 game on A2:OA engine
Daniel replied to Choki's topic in IRON FRONT: LIBERATION 1944 - GENERAL
They secured a licence from BIS. -
A pull handle, a barrel... Anyone else thinking beer? I also think this Scott Miller being born in 2000 sounds way too far in the future. Hopefully whatever BIS have planned doesn't happen to far after Arrowhead. I'd go along with the "late twenties or older" line of thought for an SBS Captain. 1989 or very shortly afterwards sounds more plausible.

Introducing Take On Helicopters by Bohemia Interactive
Daniel replied to Placebo's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
That looks wicked. Moody sky and great lighting, nice one BIS, and BoboCZ! -
Just a thought, seeing as Take On's being developed at the same time as whatever these hacks refer to.
-
You found IPs for the "hackers"? And are you aware Persia and Iran are the same place?
-
From here. It's a bit of a stretch, but this links in with the discovery of penicillin, in that penicillin is used to treat Anthrax, which was first used as a weapon during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

I've updated the Iran and China pages with the clues so far. http://armaenigma.com/index.php?title=Iran http://armaenigma.com/index.php?title=China

It's a natural disease but has a history of biological warfare and bioterrorism. According to the Wikipedia, it was first used in a weaponised form by the Japanese in the 1930s, who tested it to deadly effect upon prisoners during the Second Sino-Japanese War. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthrax#Biological_warfare http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731

I get the feeling BIS are going to use it as a plot device. They seem to be setting the stage with all these references. For example, imagine there's a new virus breakout in a country that's under heavy sanctions, and they require vast medical assistance. That could spark conflict.
-
That's a possibility. The armaverse is BIS's alternate reality after all. I'm expecting a reference at 1985 anyway.
-
So yeah, can whoever deleted penicillin from the wiki kindly add it back in? I like the new Persia link, it proves that we're not simply getting a history lesson. Is it just me or has the forum layout died?
-
Agreed. If this is the price we pay for a developer that takes an interest in its community, its a fair price. Plus I want to know what year World War Three breaks out.
-
Yep it was spotted. I'll add Greece to the speculation cat. I for one blame MadDogX's screen counter program thingy. Means we don't have to sit here staring at the Seeker.exe.
-
Damn, my clock's 4 minutes slower, I was waiting on that.
-
Actually no I was still thinking 19xx, but yeah, that is a good point! :p
-
Hopefully it'll ping at some other historic dates that feed the plot. Maybe some important Persian/Iranian or Greek dates.
-
Epic. You folks better take beer! Or else!
-
Heh, yeah i'm just kidding. I hope whatever pops up next gets listed rather than replaces the current note.
-
Obviously nothing interesting happened in 1908.
-
Haha, my thoughts exactly!
-
Whoa, going much faster now.
-
Oh God. BIS, this better not be a TARDIS DLC.
-
The indication is that the previous clues all date from late April. So if it's an annual thing, it's very coincidental.
-
That's about where we're at speculation wise, yeah. Hopefully tomorrow's hack will shed some more light on it.

If there was no purpose to tactical nuclear weapons they would not exist. At the point where US and Russian troops are slogging it out, tactical nuclear weapons become viable.
