Seems the obvious answer given how often it's used as a physics demonstrator.

Am I the only one who disliked the futuristic approach?

No it isn't, it's more reality than science fiction. And Arma has always been about fiction, there's never been a historically accurate BIS mission. -
Very true. What they don't do is hang 15ft above the ground suspended only by their toes at 90 degrees to their guard tower, nor do they levitate when the building around them collapses.

I'm going to guess that in the grand scheme of things: Israel's been overrun. And that there are forces that survived and reached NATO, and forces who's equipment has been acquired by the aggressors. Hence the Merkava turning up on both sides. But that's pure speculation.
-
Plausible, there's another one for you.
-
I have to say, Arma 3 has the potential for a cracking MGS mod now. Epic graphics and environments, sub launched special forces, crazy Russian helicopter things. Awesome.
-
-Paladin-, you completely missed his point.

And what do you think makes this island so important that NATO is prepared to waste an entire task force on it? For all we know it could be housing Metal Gear. :p

Yeah, you'll hear the term "realism" a lot, and everyone has their own interpretation of what it means to them. How seriously realism squads take the game differs from team to team, yet they might all claim to be realistic. I prefer the term immersive. If something breaks the immersion, like a respawn, then I stop taking it as seriously. And that can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what sort of game i'm looking for.

The screenshot of the diver shows an Astute class submarine. Probably not HMS Astute, since there's going to be seven Astute SSNs and BIS like to come up with their own vessel names.
-
Oh i'm pretty sure he's talking about one and the same.
-
Pretty much all of these things have seen noticeable improvements since OFP. I think BIS will want to continue to push these areas. But right at the top of my wishlist has to be improved netcode.
-
CQB has improved a lot with each successive title. You can probably expect some improvement given the new animation system and overall system requirements.

Well done Captain Obvious! The enemy call it the Hamoc. NATO knows it as the Super Hokus Pokus. -

Read the post directly above yours. Read it several times if necessary. -
Not yet, plenty of good screens and info though. www.arma3.com

That's the spirit. Forget knives. :p

Well, there's another way to look at it. And that is that games like GRAW, Vegas, Battlefield, CoD, why should they own the near future concept? BIS is going to show them how it's done. -
Yep, it'll be lone wolf to start with. No need to bring CoD into the equation.
-
It certainly is.
-
XP till I die Arma 3!
-
NATO code: Super Hokus Pokus.
