How realistic do you expect ArmA to be?

a good sim would uninstall the game from your HD after you been shoot -
in the video from the press release you see the real time day/night and wheater cycles and the tree starts to move as the weather gets worste. might this be affected througt wind ? and what about bullets ?

Generaly i really liked what i see and for me it was a prove that BIS is heading in the right direction but i would also like to point out my worries or a "to do list" from my point of view. 1. The first think i really disliked, was the position of the gun, it seemed to far from the body and the left arm was too long and unnatural and i know, 75% Wip 2. somehow the lightning (HDR) is too much on the ground, it seems to shiny with the grass not having shadow 3. The Anims: there's alota work needed as those of OFP were/are really groovy and the new one's reminding me of an unfinished VBS version. 4. what happend to those ground textures ? http://armedassault.eu/images/photoalbum/97.jpg the rest is awsome -

I thought Game2 should be RPG, but after searching for NEWS on ArmA the last 3 years, i'm starting to think that ArmA is only a "RPG News Search Adventure" to prepare us for Game2 (jk) can't watch the vid at work damn it -

i think it's in everyones interest to gather more players, so there should be a demo like in ofp1

i'm still wondering why there isnt any Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering, isnt this a standard in 2006 ? As they hired Campaign making Victor, i think the engine should be allmost finished, or am i wrong ?

I would like to buy a new Gfx-Card, but i'm asking myself if i gonna need DX9c or if DX9b will do the job. As i got AGP only, i'll have to make a last desicion as the new cards are only supporting PCI-E. checking those screens i think its gonna be ready soon. A Demo would cost us some days to the release but on the other hand more players would be around.

i dont know if punkbuster is the right solution but after playing bf2 since the demo and not seeing 1 cheater since, while playing ofp the chance is allmost 50/50, i had to vote yes. For the Coop/Addon players around who fear having troubles with it, i suggest the "disable but" as mentioned x times before. you guys know the bug being shot by AI's throught bushes. just imaging it happens all the time or did you ever asked you why noone plays those nice MOD's around and ppl leaving this game not only because its old? Allmost all competitive leagues have died because of cheats, ppl have even started to cheat themself to combat those cheatos as their last solution and after seeing this vid http://univerchy.rigolage.com/kick%20the%20cheaters.wmv (20Mb) of the latest tkc-pack, i really asking myself where's the fun left. for me punkbuster is a total win/win situation for all kind of ofp players at the end even with all those unproven negative aspects of it. -
Armed Assault - development suggestions to BIS

i would like to see somethink similar to the "Mission Editing Competition" with Addons like an "Addon Making Competion" where all kind of addons like island, vehicle, units etc will be judged from ww2 to modern and even future style stuff and than released as AA-MOD's as a tribute to the highly gifted ofp addonmaker comunity. ( in other words, give placebo somethink to do ) -
after i gathered all addons from your addonlist i had still missing: ECP_Blood, Skelets, throwkok, INQ_WeaponPack ecp 'n inq was easy to find but i had to remove throwkok and skelets in the missions.sqm's res/addons because they cant be found. aswell i havent found: pcf117.pbo / poopys.pbo unfortunately, the mission doesnt run, i keep stuck in the convoi, coz the ai driver havent been paid.
