Ok. Hope its gone in W7 OEM. No problems with the game in Vista, but it runs smoother on W7. :D

Hi , bought Arma 2 off steam. Starts and runs well, exept the normal graphic loading when u return to base or something after u die. But when i play campaign or multiplayer, i get small freezes each half a minute. Not bad really, a freeze that lasts a second tho. But flying a chopper with my mates inside, close to ground, its not fun to get 'unfrozen' inside a tree ;) Anyone else experience this and/or have a solution?

Gnarble!! Â Ran Arma 1.09 Beta smooth for some days, until today. Flew around wasting and reaking havoc on the enemy. But when i went for 3 mins break to feed my dog, i came back to a locked game. Couldnt ctrl-alt-del, nothing. Then after a while i got control back to windows, with 640x420 resolution and 8 bits colours, Â i got a horrible error that i thought was gone. Error : The display driver nv4_disp has stopped responding.. Â Any solution to that?

Ok.. Been playing the multiplayer game, Evolution. All versions thats out there. Enjoyed it actually for a while, climbing in ranks n such. But after a while, some smart asses or admins or whatever spawned zombies, trucks and tanks and cars and.. yes, in the house we spawn after death, friendly units that kills you and if u kill them u loose points, flying planes without proper score or rank, running fast as a lighting.. You name it, seen alot of cheats and hacks or whatsitcalled... Im wondering, are these hacksorcracksorwhatsitsname only limited to Evolution or can people do this on every multiplayer map thats created?? My future of playing Armed Assault is at stake here.... Â

Omg Sickboy.. You should be called smartboy.. It works!!!! OMG it works!!!! Â Why cant BIS make a fix for it then??? WHY?? 4 gig doesnt work but 3gig. Like , hello Praise Sickboy!!!! Â Â But, errr... Could u fix the 'nvlddmkm has stopped responding' Â error too?? Its plaguing my system in every game. Also could play 30mins now until the error came.. Thanks again Sickboy, youre the man. PS, how do i remove that entry if i want all memory back?

Omg Victor, you hit the nial right on the head there. I was very exited, mark was, when this game was on its way. Even bought meself a new rig to play it with full graphix and really enjoy it. 4000 euro !!! down the drain.. Now we have a black loading screen that noone bothers to fix. Neither BIS or Nvidia. Tho i reported it several times since the preceeding driver from nvidia (154.xx)... Now we have release upon release that changes nothing. No patches upcoming for the game. Just that arma 2 is coming soon, like wth??? Spew out new game even before the first has settled. Seems like money is more important than reputation. But.. Back to why i came here.. again.. Nvidia has new beta 169.71.. Do i even need to bother try DL it and try if the blackscreen is gone??? Anyone?? Â Â
-
No luck ages ago.. Hmm, i guess this post died. Nvidia 158.45 didnt have this problem, but why coldnt the following drivers keep it away?? Also BI doesnt care, because the game doesnt support Vista.. Sigh...
-
Hmmmz. Ok so its mixed emotions and targeting with these spoilers.. I agree that Evolution is a good idea, and surely needs overhaul. Seen servers that have anti cheat/hack on but them too is attacked somewhat. So its not only Evolution then that can be mocked, but all multiplayer maps can become targets. Sigh, the future looks grim of play MP...  I gotta tell ya all, i miss OFP. No gamespy lobby and more closed games. Like Zeus, realism on and with TS. It was like i was back in the army. lol  And why cheat and hack on Coop??... erhmm..  Â

Sigh, ok.. So nvidia released yet another driver, beta i might add.. Anyone tested it? Still black ugly crappy game destroying non playable loading screen?? Â DL'ing it now..
-
So Nvidia released a new driver yesterday. Hopes where high yet another time. But no!! Â Still blackassed loading screen with Vista. And yes, still the crapped ass old error 'NVLDDMKM has stopped responding' Â haunting my system. Guess we need a patch to even get it started now on vista. Or is it the ordinary message from BIS (505) "Dont use Vista" Â Well, whatever.. Cant we get it fixed soon? More and more users will probably use Vista soon, so why not fix it? Like, pls? Want me to beg? Â
-
Personally i dont think it'll be patched soon. Using 158.xx nvidia driver makes the loading screen problem go away. But i like the latest driver, finally i can see the whole desktop on my LCD. But i cant play the friggin game. Â I think they r to buzzy working on their next release.
-
Do u use 162.22 beta or WHQL? If so, use 158.24. No black loading screen then.. Â
-
and before that?? arma was ok with another driver?? Â If yes, which driver was you can play with arma?? I used 162.22 beta. Prior to that, i used the 158.xx drivers.. Stable and good. But now i dont dare to install the newest WHQL. Im afraid of more bugs. Using 158.24 now, and can play well. Any1 tried the 162.22 WHQL? Â
-
Ok, so now nvidia has released another WHQL. Version 162.22. Any black loading screen with this 1? And do any1 think that nvlddmkm display error has gone with it? Â

Joining in on this problem too. Updated my Nvidia Drivers to 163.11 and, whoppeeee, game over.... Â

The maxmem command line fixed it for me too. Â But when i put all settings on max, i get a new problem. The game freezes and i get a yellow triangle icon at bottom right on windows bar. Its not ArmA related tho, cause i get it in most games. Error: The display driver NVLDDMKM has stopped responding and has been restarted. Anyone else gotten this error? Any tip on what to not turn up to max?
-
I just got this error today, after a long play with no issues. Thought after 1.07hotfix patch everything was fine. Actually cheered for a while. Then when i looked at a APC the game froze and CTD. Then error appeared almost 2 minutes after CTD. Running Vista X64 4 gig ram Corsair SLI Arma 1.07 with hotfix XFX 8800 GTX Â G.Card P5N32-SLI Premium MB Pentium E6600 CPU Samsung 500gig Sata 2 HD No cmnd lines added, no addons Also, the game runs good with settings on normal (default settings). If i tried putting it up to max, as i could expect with a 8800 GTX, the game CTD at loading in multiplayer. Â But its getting better, keep up the good work.. Â

Ok, so after 112 replies we have learned: 1. Dont buy Vista? 2. A maxmemwhatyoucallit command line workaround?  3. Us version bugged aswell?? Hmm, that doesnt quite cut it.. Well, Nvidia released a new driver yesterday, 158.18. Any problems with that driver? Havent tried it yet myself yet. But is there a working solution to Vista users, or do we just have to admit defeat against a company that keeps telling us to look at OS requirement on the gamecover? Well, i was quite happy with OFP, but waited with great!! anticipation of the new release. Then they brought in Gamespy  . Now connection to servers became a problem too. A problem that where in OFP nonexistant. Ok, gonna blow of the dust from the Armed Assault and try with newest drivers. Wish me luck, if it goes bad, itll end up in the basement again  Here we go..   Lol   CTD Maximus!!  Tried with adminrights, different graphic settings, maxmem cmd line, xp compatibility you name it.. Moving on to CTD posts........ Â
-
I agree, but since it just got patched i think we have to wait a long time. (Praying im wrong on that) Â Adding that command line did help, i actually got to play some hours last night. Â But in the end, the game froze totaly when a game server changed map. Â
-
Joinin in in the error message aswell.. Have too a 8800 gtx, tried playing on both Vista and XP.. Same error. Can play a little longer in XP tho, but result is the same. Â Is this problem beeing looked at, or do we have to wait for Nvidia or the game producer to look into it. Im afraid a loong wait, since the 1.05 patch just came out, and the Nvidia beta driver isnt either working.. Fearing the worst.. Some info would be appriciated, Â Asus P5B Wifi XFX 570 8800 GTX (64bits 100.65 driver in Vista) (32bits 97.92 driver when using XP) Onboard Soundmax 5.10 Vista Ultimate and XP Home SP2(same problem on both) 4 gig Corsair DDR2 XMS2 ram installed Sata 2 500gig Hardisk

Hi there! Im running Arma 1.05 on Vista x64 now, and having some real issues here  .. Before i bought this gfx card, i was told i could put all games on max graphics. heh I have a nvidia 570 8800 gtx card with x64 drivers installed. When i put graphic on max i get graphics that would ashame a Commodore 64..  Whats wrong, is it Vista, or 64 bits. or simply lousy config of the 3d settings?? Been waiting looong time for this game, and even upgraded my PC for it. Now i sit here and look at this ridicilous graphic and dont know what to do... Cant even turn it back on default settings anymore. still 'Commodore64' graphics showing... Like omg, pls help!! Ill be in ever debt if someone can explain whats wrong Â
