Well, after a bunch of work, here it is. M14 EBR addon for ArmA. Can't thank RobertHammer for his great work enough. (exclusive sniper version of the EBR will be in his upcoming mod). AWESOME concept. Great work so far, the characters are sweet. Some suggestions: - frost on the windows for all vehicles (would really add to atmosphere) - Cars take longer than normal to start? - A research station or two (like everybody's been saying) - Russian base, downed satellites/aircraft - fishing ship stuck in the ice? Odly enough, the arctic has been the source of some international conflict recently. Canada, US, Russia, and others have been racing to secure as much territory there as they can. The thinking is that with all this global warming, a northwest passage might become a practical reality. I know Canada has just committed to greatly extending its military presence in the far north.

The best way I can explain this problem, is that I want to have two different models for a weapon: one for normal view, one for "scoped" view. I thought I'd use the "optika" files because that would be a way to get a separate model for scoped view. So far I've got this trainwreck, but at least it's getting somewhere: and this is what it is in O2: any ideas on how to make an "optika" model into a full 3d view? did anybody understand that garbled mess?

Thanks! I don't want any of the old 2d optic visible, it's completely set up for 3d sights, so that's perfect. I'll look at other BIS models to get the eye point right. Hopefully you guys will see this released as an updated version of my m14ebr mod. Thanks again!

Excellent! thank you. I knew someone around here could help. I probably never would have figured that out. I've been using a custom 2d texture for the scope but I don't like the results. I've got to make a seperate model for the optics because of the way the scope works -- it's wide at the eye end, but much narrower at the far end -- So in game, it looks you're trying to aim through a the hole of a button The seperate optics is working, just the way you said. Once I fix the "eye" point I should be able to clean up the rest. In my model, there is only an "zasleh" point, no "eye" point or "memory LOD". Is it just a single vertex point? RobertHammer got the gun from .3ds into O2 for me, so I'm pretty new at O2. -One last thing: how do I get rid of the black edges on the screen in "optika" view?

Yup, that's exactly what I did. I lined my model up with the "optika_aimpoint" model released by BIS. It'd be really useful for lot of modders to have a seperate model for the optics view. . . . I just can't figure out how to make it work. anybody else ever tried to do this? any other ideas?

video isn't working here either... But this sounds like a great idea. A CAS addon would add so much to ArmA! and now that we've got f16s and f/a18s... well, it'd be rude not to use 'em to their full potential. how are you planning to approach controlling CAS in ArmA? from the map? -

it's been a while since I've done anything for ArmA, but here's something: It's a texture edit of johnny's excellent Marine mod. I alpha'd out the groin guard thing, and tried to change the helmet texture. Next is maybe a fleece jacket, better helmet etc... it's just for personal use right now, because I haven't talked to johnny about anything. Cheers. -
just Afghanistan mate, I wish this mod the best of luck. Skins shouldn't be too hard. The stock ArmA models are pretty close to what our guys use isn't it? Isn't there already a C7/8 in ArmA? Didn't Earl do some Canadian stuff for OFP? I remeber a really nice render of a McMillan (sp?) .50 cal rifle...

First, great campaign. great addons, great music. Thanks, I'd play ArmA a lot more if there were more campaigns like this one. But like somebody already said, it's a real pain searching S.Sahrani for a lone SLA troop. Is there any way to add a condition so the mission ends when there's only 1 or 2 SLA left? If not, How do I "cheat" a mission into being completed, so I can get on with the campaign rather than go hunting for rogue SLA? again though, great campaign. and thanks Armaholic for hosting everything.

Operational Detachment Alpha - 529 v1.0 12 man US army special forces ODA. There are around 8 new skins, all standalone with unique weapon loadouts. Read the README. MIRRORS Updated! Ebud gets most of the credit. He gave me permission to use his textures. My work is mostly just copy/paste stuff with some minor edits. eSwaadfrom the gr.net forums also get some credit. I used velcro from some of his textures. the addon isn't meant to be milspec, I know some things aren't accurate. v2 will fix most of those things. I just don't have time to update it now, so I'm releasing it as is. Also, thanks to Bugkill for suggestions and feedback that will go into v2. ArmedAssault.info mirror!!! After I'm done all the stuff I'm working on now, I'd like to try a jet (if the mh-53m goes well). I like the idea of an F15 Strike Eagle or for older stuff an F104 and MiG 21, also a U-2 just for fun.

ArmA has its own set of tools which were released by the Bohemia Interactive. The tools were released to the community. Find it by searching these forums or at a fan site like armaholic or armedassault.info You can use any 3d program to do the modeling, as long as it can export to .3ds format. Export your file from .max or maya or whatever in .3ds and then import into O2 (BI's 3d program). good luck -
