Mate, u have my support. There should be so much more SAS and SBS addons out there in the Arma2 world. Are u going to also reskin the other Force Recon units? or just the ones with the beanie and the bandana? -

I absolutely agree with you on this mate. If it is ever possible to impliment, id love to one day have a team of 5 or so soldiers run next to me, then when i stop instead of them just idling thier gun on their front and looking at me for the next command, actually have some "personality" and maybe use their hands to act like they are readjusting the strap on their vest or rubbing their back or even acting like they are surveying the area. Even when simply on "safe" and patrolling, instead of all generically walking with the gun strapped infront of their chest, have one resting the gun on one hand instead, or craddling it, etc. I have no experience in modding so i wouldnt know if this is hard or easy, but nevertheless, it should be taken into consideration -

Mate, at this rate u might aswell deforest most of Chenarus, replace some of the buildings currently with those buildings used in Avgani and Afghan Village, and retexture the ground to be desert and presto u have a replacement island :D Ive been planning to do that for awhile after I save the money for a decent comp and get Arma2 becoz i missed the Operation Flashpoint Desert Replacement pack that replaced everyting from Everon as a desert, to the soldiers and vehicles that became desert camo. Im sure it shouldnt be too hard to create a deforested Chenarus but retexturing it to be a desert will be more eye candy, and after more "Arab Insurgent" or "Arab Civilian" unit addons are released (like Lobos Afghanistan units) it would be awesome to see a full converted replacement pack for Desert theatre campaign lovers :D Just a suggestion

Heya, the NZDF is looking amazing, Im a kiwi myself. one question, will the soldiers i.e. NZ Soldiers and 1NZSAS both be modelled units? or reskins of default BI models? and will there be a desert DPM and woodland standard DPM option? -
Hi, Im aiming to make a real simple snatch and grab special op where a patrol goes in, locates the target and obviously captures him and extracts him with the helicopter. QUESTION: how can i add an action to which when i walk up and chase after him (as he would naturaly have no weapons a flee) and get close enough a drop action will appear which says "Arrest", and after activating it he will initiate a 'arrest animation action' then join my team so that i can control him? SIDE QUESTION: In this mission, i also wanted it to be that there are 3 likely places that he might be. The point in the operation is to go in and investigate all 3 suspected locations and identify if he is there or not. I played with the probability likeliness concept but that leads to either having him in 2/3 places, or sometimes not at all (which sadly can be too realisitic when its a 2 hour long sneak mission =.=). Is there a way of programming it so that he will spawn in only one of the 3 given locales garanteed? and is it possible to add an "informant" that u can go to instead that will immediately tell u which of the 3 he will be in which would shortcut the op so that u dont have to go bush bashing thru to all 3 locales? Heya, I know of the command: {_x setunitpos "UP"} foreach thislist which would force any AI to stand up and remain standing. But due to my laziness I wanted to know if it was possible to make it so that instead of having to go to all the units and add that into the activation trigger, if it was simply possible to just add that command into the trigger, but also just add another command which would be set for all opfors to remain standing. Hope its easy to understand, but simply, Id like to make all Opfors remain standing in a mission, but i wanted to know if there was a faster way to make all of them stand with this command, without having to place the command into each of their init fields. Heya, Ive been a real fan, and have been keeping up to date with, all addons relating to British special forces, SAS, and SBS. But there was always one thing missing from them which was the iconic 30-60kg bergens they always carry about during most of their recon and 'behind enemy lines' missions. Ive noticed that mods such as ACEmod and SLX have given the ability to wear rucksacks and bags on the units backs, but they are only exclusively for those mods. Also well, they arent bergens. I was wondering if it wasnt too hard to simply recycle one of the models for rucksacks yet just increase the size. Then compile it was a seperate addon, so when u activate it in missions, u can access it from an ammo box on the ground. I know many will start requesting things like weight bearing affecting units, and customisable features like adding more ammo in the bag so later in the mission u can drop the bag and get it. But personally to me I cant give a rats ass about it. All i want is a bergen pack that units can simply be assigned to throw on thier backs like rocket launchers do, and when assigned to, can drop them on the ground like that. If anyone can make this addon, it would be a major credit to all the SAS fans and would also help in all other british/australian/new zealand SAS special forces addons, not to mention a couple of American special forces that also use this equipment. All it is basically is the bags there are now, with a couple of extra pockets and elongated, and retextured to DPM camo, and presto. Cheers Wire/Dorian

Hi, Ive just updated myself on this thread and its quite intreging. Im gonna throw this out, and may i ask if u please leave insulting me to a minimum, but has anyone considered maybe that NAPA can be a branch of a PMC (private military company) force? personally I wouldnt wanna see a PMC force in Arma2 but due to rising current events over their existence in modern warfare it cant be ruled out entirely. again it also reaffirms the fact that it is a force inbetween that can switch side to side, but seems atad farfetched (interms of realism towards games). becoz in the war in Iraq atm it isnt just America vs Iraqi Insurgent, there are numerous gangs, republican army, NATO and UN forces, Euro Alliance forces, British, ANZAC, Blackwater etc. so a PMC force isnt that important to include as a faction in this game. but again, u can never rule it out. again, its a thought, but I personally wouldnt wanna see a PMC. So if u object to this aswell please dont throw me to the dogs mercilessly lol On a side note though, I personally would love to see some SAS. Maybe even a joint special forces task force for the Marine Force Recon and SAS. Some lads in bergens, beanies, camo etc doing what specials forces do best, reconisance. Or even what they did in Northern Ireland in the 70s when they wore casuals and blended into the civilians. But im day dreaming haha

Hi there, im really loving the new models, ive always wanted to see the soldiers/marines with more volume in the equipment they lumber around, so u can actually feel the weight of urself in the game. SUGGESTION: A minor thing but ive always hated how the arm sleeves wrap around their arms tightly which is very unrealistic to the fatigues they wear in combat (i would know, ive worn it before). They tend to be more weighty and drabs on you. Is it ok if u give the arm sleeves more volume rather than unrealistically tighten around their arms? just adds to the overall package of them, its real minor but would be much appreciated and much more effective if done. cheers man, thanks alot

Hi, If i were to get an addon which already has a modelled Facetex2 face on it, and i was looking to reformat that back so i can use my own customised BIS face on it while retaining the body. Firstly is that possible? and if so how can i do this? keep inmind im a noob at editing >< so try and be alil more detailed that usual please. cheers thanks alot

Hi ummm sorry havent had the time to look at the 48 pages to see if this has already been suggested......but i love the job u did on the stamina of the troops very realistic. My suggestion is how about u include the option of picking up ur cantine or hydro pack and having a sip after action, and it will help u recover ur stamina faster. U can recycle the animation of grabbing the binoculars out tho u have to reposition it lower to his mouth instead of his eyes >< but yeah.....just a suggestion. Kinda cool to see a group of soldiers after a firefight to grab their bottles out and take a breather for awhile aye.... hope u like

Hi Sorry im a noob and havnt got a clue hw to get this working. Ok I have the LSR SEALs addon and i noticed that that addon doesnt have the SLX format of wounds, GL3, etc. How do u get those guys to use the same format and play is wat im asking. Like how do u get other addons to follow that same script and operate like the default BIS when i play in SLX 1.09

I am a huge Metal Gear Solid fan and I would love to see the Private Military Company used as an addon in Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. Hi, Ive got alil problem on my OPF. For some odd reason one day the game suddenly became wierd and the sound started to go all funny. Firstly when I was playing FFUR 2006 the music on the front page would start to play normally till I start to move my mouse, then it starts to studdle and jump like 30secs forward in the song. Later when I started playing the game I noticed that the sound was delayed (not slower) in both shooting and ordering commands. The guns fired first, then the sound arrived about a second later. And the ordering was delayed in being; original: "5, move to, delta foxtrot 52" my one: "5.......move...to........delta.........foxtrot........5.....2" not slower just delayed. It isnt too bad but when you are in the middle of combat and bullets are wizzing over you, u tend to want to make quick, decisive orders as soon as possible lol. If anyone else has this problem and has a solution please tell me, thanks alot. Cheers. btw, my soundcard is Realtek AC97 Audio. Its coming from a Sony Vaio Laptop. And trust me before u ask, the sound worked perfectly for almost a whole year till like a week ago, so it is compatible.
