1. The lack of missions and campaigns is really biggest problem I have with JF. Problem really is not the right world...Content if what I mean.

    Ya serious? wow_o.gif

Maybe ya mean the lack of SP missions...? As MP there's plenty. Hey Hawkins, maybe we outha put together a new mission pack lol. biggrin_o.gif

  2. Nice one m8! Looking good. Just a question, i haven't tested yet just saw the video, that clowdy puff you have on impact. it seems that it's not building up but instantly apears as a pre made clowd instead of a progressing clowd of the explosion. (ya know the pink/red stuff that shows up for a sec or two after the initial impact) Am i wrong and it is expanding on impact or is it still a pre fab clowd and you are working on that one still smile_o.gif Both ways it still is nice work!

    Cheers,

  4. By the way Is a columnformation the best when trying to advance unseen in the junglevegetation?huh.gif?huh.gif?huh.gif???

    huh.gif

My experience is that a column formation is pretty good if you don't want your entire team exposed to enemy fire and killed quick. As if you run into a contact head on only the first guy or two will get it. This also applies to the fact if number 1 steps on a mine or triggers a tripwire wink_o.gif But as a leader your best position within a column formation is about 1/3 from the front man down the squad. I usually walk as 3rd or 4th in the squad as leader. But well if it's open ground ya gotta cross, then my experience is that a staggered column and my squad set to combat works best. But that's my own prefered formation. Every situation has it's own solution right tounge2.gif

Oh and good it all works now. Enjoy the 'Nam crazy_o.gif

  5. Hi smile_o.gif

First of all use the Jungle Fever thread for the questions about Jungle Fever otherwise moderators will start screaming at ya. See the thread currently on page 2 here:

Second of all, don't use capitals in your topic title. Again Moderators hate that to. wink_o.gif

Third of all. Here's what you do. Put the entire @JF folder into your main OFP directory. On my HD that is in the following directory:

    C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint

Now put the missions from the JF missions pack in your main OFP single player missions folder and Multi player missions folder (depending on what missions they are). So don't put them within the @JF folder!

Next create a shortcut from the icon with which you normally start up OFP. Then open up the properties of that new made icon and write the following down in that target field:

    "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE" -mod=@JF

Note: The above text is on my own icon. The important thing for you is the -mod=@JF part.

Then fire it up and try it.

That should work properly then. If not please oh please use the Jungle Fever thread for your questions biggrin_o.gif

    Cheers,

  6. Nice island m8! First enjoyable fights i had in ArmA actually.

I had 3 v 3 squads in CQB and had 19 FPS! Where with BIS plants/forests etc i get 6-8 FPS just by myself. Off course the island is made in a fashion from teh old OFP jungle ways. With little undergrowth and more high bushes and tree's, but this is still very good! No doubt it will improve in the future.

p.s. I did actually put down the viewdistance to 500, fog to 0.5 and rain to 0.5. But hell i didn't notice that when i was fighting as i couldn't see far anyway! 2-4 tree's further down is what i saw, and that's about 150-200 away. Why need 1000 + view right wink_o.gif

    Nice job m8!

  7. I solved the problem in using "setviewdistance 500". You don't need to see in a deep Jungle very far. Atleast since you can't.

Indeed. Ya can't see that far anyway. Sometimes you won't even see that frog staring at ya at 3 feet away biggrin_o.gif

Plus lowering the viewdistance only affects the flyboys. Grunts don't need a view that far anyway. Can't see that far, can't shoot that far. wink_o.gif

Waiting to see how this will turn out. smile_o.gif

  8. Looking nice. smile_o.gif

One thing on the rope bridge. I see it goes in a hanging loop, but the ropes on top of it that support the bridge are not following that loop. But i am sure you noticed that yourself.

About the base objects like barbed wire and punji stakes. Yes please biggrin_o.gif Suggestion: make a dirt wall object with stakes in it. Just a thought.

And the map editor view is promising as well. Small island with enough room for missions. I see some villages here and there i think. Will be a nice testing space for all your island making adventures hehe.

  9. *ignores all the bullshit posters about where the addon/island makers inspiration might have come from* icon_rolleyes.gif

    Nice effort there Mondkalb!

The island and the objects are coming together nicely. Some suggestions for this nice island:

    - Try to make the dirt wall objects more round a bit. They have somewhat sharp edges at the top of them. (they are pointy like mountains, instead of a bit round like mud piles.).

    - Try to use some more undergrowth in the jungles. It makes a lot of difference if you have more undergrowth to walk through in contrast to here and there some bushes. Try to work in layers as well in the jungle. More lower plants combined with higher plants will dense the area and make the jungle more real. I know it's hard now as ArmA modding is just started really. And lag is a big issue especially with jungle environment as it also was/is in OFP. But try to find that balance there m8. You are well underway. Also use if you can some of the BIS palm tree's. Don't know if you have already. Why invent the wheel if it's already invented smile_o.gif

    - Objects look to clean. But that's more of a texturing issue. Experience along the way of making them will teach you how to make them better. wink_o.gif

All in all i would say it's a nice island so far and a nice effort in creating one. Keep up the difficult and good work you are doing! thumbs-up.gif

  10. Well i quess as it's his stuff he and he alone can decide on what he wants to do with teh stuff he made. And wether all teh people in the entire OFP and ArmA wolrd would want him to release the stuff in these games, then it's still his decission if he chooses to do so or not. wink_o.gif

Simple thing really. All we can do is beg biggrin_o.gif
