Hey, if i can help out the community i am always ready. Besides if it promotes a really good mission i am more than ready to help out.

Looking at the pics that Bals posted got me thinking about what everyones logo is on the side of their boats. I am using "Der Schwein" - Beware of the mighty ziggy piggy!! How about the rest of you?

I absolutely love that saying, it's so adorably pacifistic (naive). Well, then tell me who wins in a war? People win some sadness, people win fear, people win death... I don't see any real advantages The only winners in a war are the companies that manufacture the weapons used. I still say it was more of a stalemate (although slightly tilted to the US/UN winning) than anything else, as neither side accomplished the goals they were trying to achieve. N. Korea wanted to destroy the south which they failed at. The US/UN wanted to save the south which they acheived but then tried to unify the entire country which they failed at.
-
Since the N. Koreans attacked first with the goal of wiping out the south and they failed to do that i would say the US/UN "won" but its more of a won/stalemate that was acheived. Since the N. Koreans failed 100% to meet thier goals and the US was unable to free the north.

If you have crewmen maning the deck gun it allows you to fire it. If you want them to fire at will you must put an officer in the officers bridge slot. Also, make sure you have the right setting for the range to target, if its set to close range and your target is far away they wont shoot until you close. You can also assign a target (Below water line, deck guns or bridge) for them to shoot at as well. Good Hunting.

Ok, i will post them tonight and PM you the links for them.

Skiptime is disabled, when you set-up the session your given the option of starting close, medium or long range from the convoy, the proximity is the same as when you spot a ship and the report says if they are close, medium or long range away. To communicate to the other ships you hit "NUM Lock" then type in your chat and hit enter to send the message. On another note: has anyone tried using voice comms yet? i read on the SH3 forum that you can do this using a program called shoot and there are even templates to help you set it up to work. I have yet to try this as my mic is now dead but i will be getting a headset w/mic tonight after work.

But each player is a sub captain so that makes for a decent sized online Wolfpack.
-
Honcho. If your having bandwidth problems i could always host some of the files for you. The Pub has a boatload of bandwidth available.

I got the chance to play online this weekend and all i can say is i like the game even more now. You can either play a custom scenario that you make yourself in the mission editor or you can specify the parameters you want for the mission which include: Realism level Date Type of mission: Convoy or Capital ship hunt Size of convoy Size of escort Escort Experience level Your crew experience level Types of sub available Any Air cover Distance from convoy Or you can set all these levels to random and then let the players choose which sub they can have. It works the same way as OFP does online, you can play either a LAN game or you can play over UBI.com and host a room for up to 8 players. You could even password the room for the times you want to have a forum night.

You can have your weapons officer plot the firing solution for you. Lock on your target in your periscope than ask the weapons officer to identify the target (unless you already have it identified) plot a firing a solution and finally to fire the torpedo. Ideally, you want to have a gyroscope reading of 340-20 but i find you can still have a good deal of success with it between 320-40. One last thing, try to avoid firing from directly in front of or behind a target as this tends to either make you miss or cause a glancing blow off the side of the hull. Hope this helps. EDIT: you prolly already know this but since you said "all" of the ships i wanted to point out that you only need to sink 4 of them.

I grabbed it last night the first thing i noticed was more traffic at my home port of Wilhelmshaven, i havent made it into an enemy port yet as my current mission takes me through the channel and there is a bit more traffic now. I even noticed several additional Destroyer types that i had not seen previously. I definetly recomend getting it, just make sure your most recent save is in a port as the readme says you wont be able to continue your career from a save point that has you on station. Could you possibly email me the mod? the link on the site aint working no more Or, i can just host it at the Pub SH3 World Expansion

OMG i did that at Bergen and it wasnt easy navigating all those little waterways, i pulled up in the middle of the night all excited to show them a fireworks display Kriegsmarine style only to find it desolate  EDIT: LOL. Hellfish we were thinking exactly the same thing at the same time.

the Star Wars franchise jumped the shark with Return of the Jedi.
-
You missed Dark Forces and TIE Fighter then :P and Knights of the old republic as well.
-
You have the choice of playing over ubi.com or to set up a LAN game. LAN would be the best to get us together in a game.
-
Has anyone tried it online yet? i couldnt get my login to work last night so i havent been able to. I also took a look at the mission editor as well and i think i may dabble with it a bit and see what happens.
-
I know its quite realistic but i still hate it when my torp bounces off the hull.
-
I only found this out after I'd steered the boat into the sub pen and into the end wall - the crew were a bit slow in responding to my order to reverse the engines  If your in career mode all you need to do is complete your objectives and you can then hit the "esc" key and you see the option for "Exit Patrol" @Gedis: you never have to actually plot a course all the way back to your home port to complete the mission. @Albert: Yes it is 100% worth the money.

I recently had a mission that required me to do the channel run. It was early 1940 and i stayed as close to the french coatline as i could. They only managed to send a few Armed Trawlers after me which were no match for me. I only ran into 2 British Detroyers that i managed to stay away from easily enough. I also spent most of my time on the surface during the run.

Wow, thats quick and nice. You want to make me a Bond Car complete with MG headlights and a rocket launcher on the roof?

"Vodka is history"? Nice... Now where did I heard the background music (the actual music)... And nice work on the chopper. It's I think but dunno sure Snap just search for everybody dance now and you find it I will make more when I have more time and this one is not so good because I am sleepy(for 20 hours now) and made only in 10 minutes  "Everybody Dance Now" is a common error made with that song. It's actually called "Gonna Make You Sweat"
