I think that the recoil from OA is the best addition. Without the annoying camera shake it now feels very nice. I am not a graphics lover kind of person, but I like when a game looks nice. (Like Ofp xD) Arma2 without AA and PPE looks awful during the ingame day, even on High details. AA causes amazing framerate drop even on Low, while PPE introduce a painful blur. For example, Arma1 looks amazing, I can play it on VeryHigh, but prefer High, as it's more gentle-looking and not as detailed. AA and PPE are really nice and overall I like it. Framerate: 60. Arma2, playing on high, without AA and PPE still works slower... about 30-50fps. Arma2, even though looking awful, has a nice feature. Soldier lying in a grass is very hard to spot. However, the grass draw distance is rather low, making it harder to spot a ghillie sniper lying next to you, than one being half a mile away... I think that next patch should include some optimisations. And if not patch... The Next Game, perhaps? :D [edit] Ah... and yes... the grass... In real life, we can adjust prone position to see over the tall grass. In Arma2 we cant, so why do we have it? Not only it's annoying, but also the AI can see through it. Please BIS, think of GAMEPLAY first. :)

The worst AI I've ever seen? Probably that piece-of-crap Real Life. Bots in the game simply don't know what they do, they are unaware of they surroundings. Etc. Etc. The best AI... Oh well, I was surprised with what 1.00Skill AI in Arma2 v1.07 can do. Also, OFP with SLXmod.

Damn it! Once before I had problem. Patching from 1.05 to 1.07 resulted in many errors during patching process. As a result, I couldnt join ANY arma2 server. The problem was fixed (Reinstall, 1.00 to 1.07 patch) Now it's just the same after 1.07 to 1.08. I had no errors during patching, but I cant join game again. BIS, do I really have to reinstall the game every bloody time? Please, have mercy. [edit] Really?

Funny, never seen most of these bugs before. And those I've seen are really minor ones. By the way, Patch 1.08 is released. Closing time ;)

It may sound funny but I've just experienced the impossible. Few hours of pure gameplay on [HGs] ChernLife. No hackers. No Cheats. No lagg. Nothing. Just when I was about to leave my Arma2 crashed... :P Well then. I guess you're right, it depends on the server rather than arma2 itself. [EDIT] 3 Hours of TDM multiplayer and no problems at all. What's more, it made me think that Arma2 is actually awesome, especially when 30 players are on the server. You feel like in a good movie but everything is dynamic. Awesome. (I was Top1) :P

I want to add something. (Arma2) 1. Arma2 dedicated server is unstable. Losing connection JUST once a day is a big succees. 2. BattlEye does not work, but kicks often for no reason. 3. The Game is just a swarm of hackers, not a single day on HGs server without some serious hacks. Today third time already, I got impatient. 4... And yes... the game seems to be dead... looks like almost everyone moved to OA. Is it just my gut feeling or Bis' products are getting worse and worse? Now I am afraid to buy OA, dont want to waste money... ;s

Ok, I've looked everywhere, seen people having the same problem, but noone has a clue nor a solution. Everytime I try to join any Arma2 Server, I get a message saying either: Session Lost. or You have been kicked out. Game's new, never player before, installed, patched to 1.05, then 1.07. Patches DLed from Armaholic.com No addons installed. DVD version. Arma1 has worked since the first day and never disappointed me. Happens only to Arma2 (Havent checked OA, because I dont have it) Note: I had some Errors during patching. I pressed "ignore" several times and patch "Has been applied succesfully"

Finally, time to end this thread, as it turned out to be... ...succesfull :) Yes, that's right, the BI community once again proved to be quick, helpfull and mature. Here are the steps that led to victory: 1. Reinstall 2. Patch 1.00 to 1.07 (No errors at all) 3. Install of BattleEye (Above mentioned patch does not include it) 4. Done. Suprisingly, not only the game allows me to join any server, but also the performance has improved significantly. Used to play on high (aa off, ppe off), now it's on very high (aa off, ppe off). I've read all the above mentioned threads before creating my own. As you can see only ONE of them is ended with a working solution. In case of the person, BattlEye was an issue. However, this solution didn't work in my case. I've reinstalled BattlEye. Every server has a green dot next to it. Nothing Has Changed. This week I will try a 5133p39's solution.

I am having a strange problem with Post Effects in both games. After a while of using them my eyes hurt and head aches. I am getting annoyed. That is why I must keep these effects off. Anyone knows reason for that? Anyone else having the problem? Thanks.

Guys guys guys, what are you talking about? Real Virtuality vs Unreal Engine RV - 30$. Open World Military Simulation. Modding fully available. Just needs more care for details and multiplayer. Just look at ACEmod to see what this baby can do. I love ACE :P UE - Another 50$ commercial game. Limited maps. Multiplayer? SC Conviction's doesnt work. And CryEngine3? It's platform crap. CE2 is better. I do still think that Care is all that RV needs. Other than that we have a nice original game on a unique engine. PC only ;) Ah, forgot to mention. Show me ANY game with map size of that in Arma2.

Perhaps you're right. However, never happened to me before, just Arma2 and OA. Gothic3, Oblivion Mods, and some new games - they have DoF and other effects and everything is ok.

Ok I need more information about the game's reqs. Are OA reqs Higher than those of Splinter Cell Conviction? Or Gta4? Because I know people running both of aforementioned on 'highest' with great fps. If you say OA is going to run on Low/Medium, while Conviction runs on very high, then maybe it's the game, that is unoptimised and not worthy of my cash? (no offense) I remember running Arma1 on 'full' on 'GF 9600GT', how come OA has such reqs without a "big change in graphics, to be honest"?

Well what can I say? While Operation Flashpoint is my favourite game of all time that crushes any other... and that I am still addicted to it after all these years... and that it began my military interest... and that I wouldn't be the same... and those memories connected with ofp and arma... Sounds childlish? So what! I am very sentimental with this series. Thank you BIS, I say again, Thank you BIS.
