Not really, Hunter and I were the only ones from the community that were there. We visited the VBS2 stand, had a game against the major Roos and a few other military personell.. a fight that we won.. Then we were allowed to have a look around in the VBS2 editor and all its vehicles, islands that were available. Too bad that there were no others from the community but we had a nice day anyway. Lol Cpt. Roos i have met cpt.roos at the TNO research. and we beat him too i hate myself for the fact that i am too late for this event. well, maybe next time. Â ( be sure to PM me when some other event takes place ) do you think you will be able to do a small writeup on the event? ( like : Â http://www.armedassault.eu/Articles/Misc.-Articles/field-report-gamers-fight-real-soldiers-in-vbs2.html ) Or - maybe a short audio interview? Â I'll be able to write something about the event, no problem cpt. Roos is no longer a cpt. Shortly before the Army days he became maj.

VXR replied to [frl]myke's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Is there more plans beside the cargo script? Will the textures be weathered or released as they are shown now? -
Nice one! Got me creative and did a little screenie of them disembarking from a helo.

Reading the 1st and 2nd page would give you the answer. Â

Arma is like a normal car with a normal price.. VBS2 is like a rally car.. simply explained
-
do tweak the wheel textures :P The car looks like it has been in some dirty terrain and got new wheels after the offroad drive
-
The Bofors would be a very good choice! The Dutch sold those a while ago so it can be a realistic thing they sold it to RACS Too bad I do not have the photos of it anymore.. Â Youtube

The most usefull and practical one in the list would be the NH90. Jets and bombers can often take off from 2 to 3 runways of the island.. the helicopter can land and take-off anywhere you like.

Thank you. And the tuts topic would be great! I will soon need to learn to create textures myself and something like that would be heaven. Maybe we (or you, since Im not very experienced in modeling and a total newb in texturing) could put them on biki and make a new topic here that would include links to all tuts available. Making textures can be a long learning process, you got to know your way around in photoshop by doing simple tutorials in the first place. You'll understand the tools and filters then you can try to remake a texture that someone else made just to practise. I'm busy now with it for the last 4 years and I'm still discovering new ways to make things look better and more realistic. There are a few nice tutorials for planes here This is also a nice webpage with a few DVDs full of tutorials that are easy to understand and very fun to do.

Sorry about replying this old thread but it points out a very common misunderstanding about simulated movement. Noone ever runs with sitting on a chair either. When you run in real life, your brain corrects the movement. So shaking your screen while the character there is running is not realistic comparing to what you would be seeing when you run in real life. Head bobbing in a game on a screen that is stationary and sitting on a chair that is stationary feels more like running without any muscles in your neck and head bouncing uncontrolled from side to side so it is realistic only for a brainless zombie running. Head bobbing has nothing to do with the realism. Unfortunately the majority of game programmers seem to think it is. That is why some people with sensitive balance (like my self) will get simulation sickness / motion sickness while trying to play the poor simulation on those games. Another thing regarding the misunderstanding of the eyesight while designing the game simulation is when inside a vehicle and not driving your self your view point will turn along with the vehicle as your forehead was nailed to the window and you cannot move your eyes at all. That is not what you would do in real life while sitting in a car. You would choose a view point instead and keep your eyes on that as long as you pick up another object to look at. In game this could be done ie. with moving a mouse to look at a direction and if you didn't move your mouse the game would keep focus on some object in convenient distance until you moved your mouse again to pick up another thing to look at (driving in urban areas, the objects would obviously be closer than when driving through open areas or flying). I really wish the screen rocking movements could be configurable to meet individual needs / likings. -GB- when driving.. use your keyboard to control the vehicle, press * on your numpad ones and mouse around your mouse..

Nice one! Will you also make a Dutch one?

The "real world" coordinates of Sahrani are: 39° 57' 0" N / 40° 1' 12" W, placing it in the North Atlantic Ocean. From the BIS wiki. Link

Tilburg - The Netherlands After 15 minutes the clouds were gone without any rain.. -
good game indeed, it got bored after playing a total of 45 hours in 2 weeks with the addiction level on "serious habit" according to GTA4 status. After the main story is done there isnt much to keep playing. I am gone stick to Arma

Have a search on the forums for RVMAT, that is used to make models shine in combination with textures.

heavily edited? those are actual ingame shots as far as I can see with a few color overlays.

Don't worry, it's not TV bollocks! I used to live near RAF Leconfield and visited No. 202 SAR. When they showed us around the helicopter, there is a stick in the winch door way so that the winch operator can make minor adjustments to the hover...... Hope that clears it up for you. Ok that makes a bit more sense. I hadn't planned for that to be honest but I'm not really too keen on adding it in for just one version right now. Â We have other more pressing priorities I'm afraid. It was on Discovery where they showed how steady a seaking is able to hover by letting the winchman fill a glass with champagne that is held on the ground. Can't find the fragment but I will look for it.

Not all of the British Seakings have the radar on top as far as I know, but im sure rockape will be around to clear that up

He already has someone doing textures for him, just that person is busy with other addons, and this was kind of a side project for him. (From what I understood.) That is true and I can't do anything about it at this time. It is very busy for me at the moment. I hope to have more time after this month to work on the textures for the HMMWV. All I can say is do not worry about how the textures look at this moment its gone be fine

Maybe you could have a try? It aint that hard that there would be need for a talented texture artist. Just follow the instructions on this page. (Read my post there and the posts below.)
