Liverpool FC showed that they continue to have the edge over Chelsea FC, in cup competitions at least, by beating the English champions 2-1 to win the FA Community Shield at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Jinx persists The Anfield club had defeated the Londoners by the same scoreline in last season's FA Cup semi-finals, en route to lifting that trophy, and they picked up where they left off in May thanks to goals in each half from John Arne Riise and Peter Crouch. Andriy Shevchenko had brought parity to the contest by opening his account for Chelsea on the stroke of half-time. Wonder goal Riise, who had also scored in that semi-final, again proved Chelsea's nemesis with a wonder goal on nine minutes. The Norway full-back ran from his own penalty area before powering a shot from 25 minutes that goalkeeper Carlo Cudinici could not prevent from arrowing into the net. Shevchenko then demonstrated why Chelsea paid around €45m to bring him from AC Milan, latching on to Frank Lampard's perfect through-pass to side-foot the ball calmly past Liverpool's Pepe Reina. Decisive header The title-holders improved after the break but, against opponents who had also ousted them from the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League semi-finals, they succumbed to a sucker punch from England striker Crouch. Substitute Craig Bellamy crossed for Crouch to head in from close range with eleven minutes remaining and send the first silverware of the season to Merseyside. Eheheh..... very nice.

Ehehehe..... Match between Liverpool and Maccabi (22.08.2006) could be played here in Zagreb or at other two places as from latest information.....its Maccabi's choice to play at home (not recommended) or at some other place (i guess this is most likely)......so we could have another great game here......

Unleashed in the East: The UEFA Champions League could have a distinctly eastern European flavour this season should results go the way of some of the region's aspiring clubs when the third qualifying round gets under way. 'Fear' AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti might have been speaking for any number of coaches of western clubs when he expressed his opinion on his side's third-round opponents, FK Crvena Zvezda. "They are a tough team," the Rossoneri coach said. "They are a team to fear." Ancelotti knows that better than most. He was a member of the Milan side that only narrowly overcame the then Yugoslav champions in the second round of the European Champion Clubs' Cup in Belgrade in 1988. But he is by no means the only western coach with reason to worry. Eastern optimism NK Dinamo Zagreb are relishing their tie with an injury-hit Arsenal FC, FC Steaua Bucuresti, UEFA Cup semi-finalists last season, will fancy their chances against R. Standard de LiÄge as will PFC Levski Sofia against tournament newcomers AC Chievo Verona. Across eastern Europe there is a wave of optimism with 13 clubs from the region contesting the third qualifying round. Of those 13 three are sure to qualify, with all eastern match-ups between 2005 UEFA Cup winners PFC CSKA Moskva and Slovakian champions MFK Ružomberok, FC Spartak Moskva and FC Slovan Liberec, and FC Shakhtar Donetsk and Legia Warszawa. Rabotnicki surprise F.Y.R. Macedonia champions FK Rabotnicki are the surprise package of the third qualifying round. The Skopje side, who face LOSC Lille Métropole, are the only team capable of repeating FC Artmedia and Liverpool FC's feat last season of reaching the group stage from the first qualifying round. Rabotnicki upset Hungary's Debreceni VSC in the second qualifying round and will not be daunted by their opening trip to France. Alongside Liverpool, Steaua, Crvena Zvezda and Milan, three other former European champions enter the competition this round. Hamburger SV face a stern test against Spanish first-timers CA Osasuna, AFC Ajax play FC KÅ™benhavn and FK Austria Wien take on SL Benfica. Ehehe, this could be sweet: Eastern Europe vs West Europe

Ivan Klasnic scored twice as Werder Bremen sent out a warning to FC Bayern München with a 2-0 victory in the German League Cup final at Leizpig's Zentralstadion. Klasnic double: Klasnic put Bremen, who finished runners-up to Bayern last season, ahead on 29 minutes after being set up by Germany striker Miroslav Klose's fine pass. Klasnic doubled the score mid-way through the second half when he fired a free-kick through a hole in the Bayern wall. The result sent out a clear message to Bayern that they will not have it all their own way this season as they chase a third straight title. "We not only wanted to win more than Bayern, we were also quite clearly the better team," Bremen captain Torsten Frings said. Bremen strong: Bayern had won all five of their other appearances in the competition, comprising the top-six from the previous season, but rarely looked like adding to that sequence in Leipzig. "We didn't have much up front," Bayern coach Felix Magath said. "Bremen were strong. They're clearly a co-favourite for the Bundesliga." Klasnic is back  ,and i think Werder will be 1st this season.

VR-Zone forum member Coolaler strikes back! He has managed to crank up Intel's Core 2 Extreme X6800 to a blistering 5.2GHz-2.27GHz above the chip's stock speed. This feat was aided by modified Intel 975X motherboard, an 850W power supply, and a generous supply of liquid nitrogen. At 5.2GHz, Coolaler's system completed a SuperPi 2M run in 23.391 seconds. With a pair of overclocked GeForce 7900 GTX graphics cards running in SLI, a run of the venerable 3DMark2001 yielded 82,493 3DMarks. Impressive as that score may be, Coolaler says his little experiment ate up 17 liters of liquid nitrogen!! Pictures and results Impressive score. No comments. -

..and another great news .... Advanced Micro Devices, the world’s No.2 maker of x86 microprocessors, last week released some details concerning its high-end gaming platform previously named 4x4. The firm now wants the technology to be called Quad-Father and says that enthusiasts with not limitless budgets will also be able to obtain an appropriate system. AMD said that it will not only offer systems running two of its dual-core processors with system integrators, such as Alienware or VoodooPC, but will also offer bundles of two processors in one package, making the 4x4, or Quad-Father, technology available in the do-it-yourself (DIY) markets. The pricing on such bundles will start from approximately $1000, according to AMD’s Pat Moorhead. It is currently unclear whether typical AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors, which pricing varies from $152 to $301, AMD Athlon 64 FX chips, which are usually priced in between $800 and $1100, or a new series of desktop-oriented processors will serve the Quad-Father platforms. The company at this time reviews possibilities to enable “step by step†4x4, where end-users could get only one chip initially and then add another one some time later. During the press conference AMD demonstrated CineBench benchmark and said that the 4x4 platform provides 80% performance benefit compared to a similar one with a single dual-core microprocessor. The company did not estimate, what the performance will be like, when two quad-core processors are plugged in. Advanced Micro Devices needs to offer a platform for enthusiasts that offers higher performance compared to Intel’s Core 2 Extreme-based computers. With the Quad-Father AMD talks about “megataskingâ€, a usage environment where users play games and perform compute-demanding tasks, such as rendering or video encoding. Pricing of final systems is also unclear. -

Now that it has the resources of AMD behind, ATI Technologies is confident that it will be able to produce more compact, faster GPUs while being to reach the channel more effectively, and the graphics chip maker has indicated its rival is now standing alone in the market. However, industry sources have indicated that Nvidia will soon announce that it will allow support of its SLI technology on Intel's chipset platforms, with the two companies already having met to discuss the partnership. Intel met with Nvidia recently to seek ways to avoid any negative impact sprouting from the recent merger between AMD and ATI , the sources indicated. Nice move, its been expected though (*bastards*) -

Driven by ATi R580+, ATi Radeon X1950XTX is the next trump card from ATi. Its model code and PCB version are 215BAABKA31FG and 102-A91501-00 respectively. Same as R580, it has 16 Pixel Shader pinelines, 48 Pixel Shader processors, and 8 Vertex Shader engine. Features at GDDR4 memory, it’s equipped with 512MB 2GHz DDR. Sources indicated that ATi Radeon X1950 Crossfire is releasing on the same date with XTX version. Similar to the XTX version, the PCB version of the CrossFire version is 102-A98801-00. Both of them are available in late Aug. the final version of ATi Radeon X1950XTX is shown as below, the design of heat sink is a little bit different from those widely spread previously. Radeon X1950XTX is the replacement of the old king, Radeon X1900XTX, and targeted on nVidia Geforce 7900GTX 512MB. The price of the CrossFire version the same as XTX and is set at $399 to $499. Samsung and Hynix are producing GDDR4 for manufactures using cutting-edge technologies called DBI (Data Bus Inversion) and Multi-Preamble, enable it to 56% faster than the top model of GDDR3. It’s expected that GDDR4 is going to replace GDDR3 in performance level in the upper half of 2007. The fastest record of GDDR4 is made by Hynix -0.7ns 16M x 32 512Mb GDDR4. It’s able to work in 2.9GHz with 11.6 Gb/s. Hynix plans to release a faster version of GDDR4 with 14.4Gb/s in the end of 2006. X1950XTX picture -

I put my eyes on Plextor DVD-RW PX-760a,but as i can see it doesnt support DVD RAM and overburning:1)does someone have that burner, and does firmware 1.3 fix or enable DVD-RAM support (because older PX-750a supports DVD-RAM)? 2)Im also interest in Benq DW1650 because its the same built like Plextor PX-750a (they have the same electronics),and its twice cheaper-maybe u can tell me if u are using one, is it good burner? -
