    Pla 1979 released

After browsing their forums found this: http://www.chinavme.com/viewthr....&page=1 http://www.chinavme.com/attachment.php?aid=1555&noupdate=yes http://www.chinavme.com/attachment.php?aid=1556&noupdate=yes http://www.chinavme.com/attachment.php?aid=1557&noupdate=yes ftp://niaoer:dainiao@211.138.9.37/Operati....979.rar As always a slow download (getting 5kbs here) and make sure to scan for viruses people. Also would be great to have mirrors Password would be:PLA Patch can be found here: http://www.chinavme.com/viewthread.php?tid=461&extra=page%3D1
  2. I searched for it on google ,ofp.gamepark.cz and other websites and no luck can anyone direct me to it ?
  3. Found Two important bugs. In badlands mission if you tell your men to move into the Bunker on Novoy Sobor they won't get out of there no matter what you tell them to do or how to move. They just stay there even though they try to get out they stay there as if some kind of invisible force shield is holding them back. The mission after Badlands (Dogs of War) as soon as you start and the dialogue goes on your team mistakes friendly NAPA fighters as enemies and open fire. This leads to you getting killed quickly.

It's a great deal considering the bundle/package included in the ROG motherboard.

    ArmA 2 Demo feedback

Your knowledge on computer hardware astounds me simply because you do not know what you are talking about especially with the CrossfireX , DX11 etc... As for my personal opinion of Arma II it's by far the buggiest game to come out this year along with Empire Total War. It's highly unoptimized and it doesn't take advantage of high end hardware. Go ahead and waste your money and see the bad fps and scaling in this game. Also if you are referring to the Core i7 its NOT an 8 CORE processor its a HyperThreaded Quad Core which gives the impression of 8 Logical Cores but it's not an 8 core processor.

    Who got crossfire to work?

You don't add the amount of memory when you are running in CrossfireX or Quad-Fire. Therefore you only have 2GB but applications can only acess 1GB in reality. RivaTuner/GPU-Z.

It was scheduled for this week now it's the 7th of July.

Maybe you don't understand but you don't add 2GB + 2GB when you have videocards in Quad-Fire. It still remains as 2GB even in a Quad-Fire configuration and since applications cannot take advantage of 2GB on a single 4870 X2 they use 1GB. Regarding Quad-Crossfire I'll see whether or not it is enabled and taking advantage of the profile with my Phenom II X4 955 BE secondary system.

    i7 + GTX295, what's the deal?

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i7-975-950_7.html#sect0 Don't lecture those who have i7 systems on the benefits of HT in gaming because there arent any. The majority of games aren't optimized for HT that is why you see performance taking a hit. Generally turning off HT will yield noticeable improvements.

Thanks for correcting me. Good link by the way.

    i7 + GTX295, what's the deal?

Don't like my criticism too bad. You could have bought a i7 920 D0 and overclocked it to a 975 and used the money you saved on better components but according to you "I spend the money I earn as I see fit and you don't HAVE to overclock to make good use of an "extreme" processor" which really if you said that in an 'actual' computer forum community you would be laughed out of there. Oh and if you think im angry that you have a 975 you make me laugh. I've used every single i7 processor released to date and I've stuck with the 920 D0 because unless you are doing extreme overclocking with extreme cooling you really don't need an extreme cpu. How many world records have you broken with that cpu ? I'm betting none. Maybe if you also had more wits than money you would realize that extreme edition and non-extreme edition processors overclock roughly the same it is when you use liquid nitrogen for extreme overclocks its where the extreme edition cpu's shine really. "Keep your opinions to yourself in future, I really dont care what you think about my implementation of hardware or my spending." That's too bad because I couldn't care either. Some additional points: 1. You are using a 975 and a stock cooler which is quite emberassing. 2. NF200 in x16/x16/x16 tri-sli takes a performance hit compared to x16/x8/x8. 3. My 920 D0 at 4.0ghz outperforms your 975 which is running at stock clock speeds. 4. You bought 12GB and probably had no reason to buy other than bragging rights. Heck you can't even utilize it fully I bet.

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2009/06/05/confirmed-core-i7-920-940-950-to-go-soon/1. Just so that you know Lynnfield will use the i7 name not the i5 as Intel confirmed. Westmere will not use i5 name as no one knows what name it will use and neither do you. Next time before you attack someone you should reconsider ;).

    i7 + GTX295, what's the deal?

You bought an 'extreme' chip and aren't even overclocking it. I say thats a real waste of money.

It might but you still won't have playable fps (30+) if you want to max out everything. Stick to a 4890.
  16. You absolutely do not need those components. Ch_123 suggested a 4890 and I would listen to that suggestion. Grab a Core i7 920 or a Phenom II X4 955 BE and also a non-EXTREME motherboard (because seriously I don't see you as the Liquid Nitrogen type to use a motherboard like that) such as the Asus P6T or the Gigabyte UD-3R Sli or 4 series. Better yet go for a Phenom II X4 955 BE such as the 790FX GA-MA790FXT-UD5P with the same memory you have listed above but in 4GB kit and also a Phenom II X4 955 BE. That sound card is also awful it's pure marketing hype using the 'fatality' name. ---------- Post added at 12:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 AM ---------- Dual GPU video cards aren't utilized properly with ARMA 2. Grab a HD 4890.

No. Stay away from pre-built computers. Building and assembling a computer is not as hard as you think.

Alienware LMAO. You gotta be serious. Don't waste your time or money with that overpriced POS. Build a computer yourself.

    1. Nothing is futureproof or will last a long time. Technology comes and goes and state of the art hardware today are obsolete tomorrow or soon enough. 2. Bad choice on the case. Listen to ch_123's suggestion on cases and also consider a Cooler Master case. 3. ARMA II cannot be maxed out with anything on the market currently and deliver fps in the playable region (30+). That's right I am speaking from personal experience. 4. Corsair 620W is all you need. You dont need a 1000W unless you are going for a Quad/TRI-GPU configuration and will be doing heavy overclocking. 5. What do you possibly need 12GB for ? Unless you are running multiple VMWARE workstations you don't need it as simple as that. 6. Can't complain on motherboard choice. 7. Buy a I7 920 D0 stepping and overclock it as high as you need. I have tested the 965/975/950/940 and also the 920(C0) and 920(D0) and unless you will be using liquid nitrogen or liquid helium to overclock you don't need an extreme edition CPU period as they overclock the same when using air cooling and watercooling. 8. Socket 1366 is already obsolete and the only possible upgrade choices for it will be the 6 core Extreme Edition Gulf Town die shrink of Bloomfield. Not to mention LGA 1366 will be replaced by LGA 1156 in Q3/Q4. It's only slower if comparing stock speeds and even then the difference is miniscule or hardly noticeable. Good call on the air coolers though.

    ArmA2 8GB RAM Problem

Tested with 12GB G-Skill DDR3-1333 kit on my Core i7 system and all is fine as well.
  21. I can't explain it. I had none of the problems using the G-Skill DDR3-1333 12GB kit. Although I did encounter a out of usable memory crash. Suma explains: No you won't be able to 'max' it out. You can try but I am sure you will FPS that is not even close to playable. It will play like a slideshow if at all.

Glad to help with the leak :D.
  23. I'm sorry but you are wrong. It does not cause problems with Arma 2. I have tried with this kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231260 and Arma 2 runs just fine with it. This is a 12GB kit.
  24. Option 3 is the best price/performance but instead of the 4870 X2 I would advise going with the Radeon HD 4890.
  25. No such thing as future proof let alone asking it to last 2/3 years. You really shouldn't ask your friend to give you overpriced lists with bad component choices. Consider the Phenom II X4 955 excellent price/performance ratio and overclocks just as good as the i7 920 if not better.
