    Sorry for the mistake Well I can't get AI to fire Stinger on my Cobra because same side, with my basic editor knowledge. But I clearly remember (and I made dozens of tests of me trying to evade a AA Stinger/Strela - which btw is impossible so far - so I got shot down countless times, from any angle) that before patch my AH-1 was forced to land after one Strela hit, while my Ka50 hit twice by a Stinger often could fly ; while with 1.01 I never managed to keep the Ka50 in air after a single Stinger hit (and btw chopper still cannot evade AA in this ver.)

    Speaking of some undocumented changes, I noticed that the patch seems to have modded some chopper armor values. 1.00 : One strela always brings down a Cobra, while 2-3 are required vs a Kamov/Ka50 1.01 : Cobra still flys after a Strela, but now ONE Strela brings down the Ka50. aka the Ka50 is super weak now. Tests were made as AI AA and me as chopper pilot. And a chopper "can fly" when it's still able to fly for 30s or more after the hit. In 1.01 every time I tried, a single AA hit leaded to crash or emergency landing of my Ka50... Could any of you test and confirm/infirm that pls.

    Speaking of Harrier, did any of you manage to take off from flat ground or from runway? I mean, every time I tried on the Desert Island runway I couldn't take off before the edge of the island and the small depression leading to sea.

    Did I miss something or it is impossible to guide a single missile in this game?? At least I tried TOW and AT-5. I mean guide it after launch, through optics, like almost every missile in OFP. Oh, and while I m at it, sometimes I need 2 or even 3 M136 to destroy a BMP-2. It's like rockets hit the BMP but do no damage. Is it normal?

    I am sorry but I cant get used to a steering wheel and a vehicle permanently oscillating left/right every time I want to make a turn. (1) I drag mouse left, wheel goes left -> I reach the edge of my mouse pad, the truck stops steering -> by the time I place my mouse on the opposite edge of the mouse pad, the wheel goes center and truck goes straight and is about to leave the road -> goto (1) The longer the turn is, the more you have to repeat these steps. Guys, try to drive a truck mouse only, and tell me how it feels...

    Do you have a joystick plugged in? Nope, just mouse and keyboard. You want me to record it? Just stay still, move your mouse and see if wheels return to initial porition when you stop moving mouse. Btw in this topic I'm not saying that driving is unrealistic, I'm just saying it is a pain to use a mouse to drive. This also gives analog joysticks/joypads or trackballs an advantage over mouse users. And this could be SO easily fixed...

    Sorry but it's far from a minor complaint. 1st. In OFP you had a small free-look while driving, you could see left/right and up/down. So while turning left, you were actually altogether looking a bit at the left, thus a better anticipation. In Arma view is desperately fixed, you have to press Space and move mouse to see your left... but oh, while you're pressing Space you cant steer... 2nd. and more important. The mouse use of OFP as an analog device to steer vehicles was PERFECT. You have a cursor, you point the cursor ONCE and the vehicle is automaticaly and gradually (according to its characteristics) oriented towards that direction while your cursor is returning at the center of screen. That was so smouth and a damn smart idea. In Arma you must constantly move your mouse until you made your turn. Ie it requires a XXL wide mouse pad... or a trackball. And leave the keyboard where it is, you can never drive straight on a straight road with a digital device like keyboard.

    Btw did I tell you that the new patch completely wrecked armor values of AH vs Kamov? Before, one Strela killed a AH, and 2-3 a Kamov. In v1.01, one Strela gets down a Kamov but now AH survives to it...

    Come on, do you know something more maneuverable than Kamov? And whatever you try, from wherever you come, Stinger will hit you.

    Speaking of choppers, didn't you notice too that it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to evade a Strela/Stinger. One cheap Strela = one AH down. Two-three cheaps Stingers = one Kamov down.

    Bug : Satchel charges disappear when disabled if inventory is full. Normally satchels are picked up when disabled if you have enough room in your inventory. If inventory is full, satchels should remain disabled on the ground, and not vanish.

    Not very important one, and easy to solve, but still a bug : When you have 1 bullet left in your M16 and use Burst fire, you hear 3x firing sound (as if you had 3 bullets in your magasine), and weapon's recoil is incorrect too.

    Nice trick thx blackdog But that works only in player view, so what is the command to return to camera view once the trigger activated? And could you tell me how do I get the blurred effect? My camera view is as clear as my player view.

    You mean placing a trigger and as soons as a unit enters within its radius, slowmo begins? Ok, but can I accelerate/decelerate time on demand ? Maybe mapping the setAcctime to keys? Edit: Oh, and while I'm at it, how do i get the blurred effect ? My camera view is as clear as my player view.

    Thx to all. But now new question Can I pause the game and drive my camera around the scene? And can I move the camera quicker (so far cam moves at walk speed, so it's long to bring it at interesting spots) ? Maybe there are keyboard commands I dont know.

    Set up the scenario in mission editor and use this exec camera.sqs in init line of a unit to get the floating cam. Some pics here were made using scripted cameras but that´s to much to explain in short. Check mission editing thread and search for camera scripting. Here is what I do in the editor : I only place one AH with me inside and a AA soldier. If I type "this exec camera.sqs" in the init of the soldier I get error "missing ;" If I type "this exec camera", and hit "preview", nothing happens, camera is at my position in the chopper.

    Could any of you tell me how the heck to move the V80/Ka50 gunner camera, on its Z axis (vertical). In OFP you could aim and fire at the ground while hovering in your Ka50, so far in Arma I don't know how to aim anything but the horizont while I hover.

    So true. BP was great. I remember I finished OFP campaign with OFP v1.0 and didn't encounter a single issue that I could have called bug and not gameplay. Only later I discovered ppl speaking about mission X or Y not finishing because of bugs.

    I have an issue with the ending of the 1985 campaign, after mission RED DAWN (retrieve Guba and destroy last SCUD). Ending starts with ppl exiting Blackhawk and then camera focuses on a unmoving East soldier, and stays on him till the end of the credits. In the real ending this soldier is supposed to be killed, so the camera can switch to something else, but with FFUR he stays alive.
  23. Hi all, is there any addon that allow user to draw some simple objects on the island map ? Basically circles, lines, or arrows. This could be a very useful thing in multiplayer games (cti), to circle some area or to draw some vectors of attack. The markers are a bit limited for these tasks. And of course only your team should be able to see the drawn things.
