Whatever works best for you. That is what I believe. A mixture is best. I have taken so many classes that I have my own style. Army Combatives classes in the U.S. teaches a mixture. A fighter needs to know how to strike with hands an feet, how to keep his oppenent off balance, how to defeat larger and faster opponents, how to get out of compromising positions, how to grapple. I also have Law Enforcement defensive tactics training (PPCT) which is focused on subduing with minimal injury and liability. While my miltary training teaches to incapacitate motor functions then kill.

No one will ever be Bruce Lee. I consider him the father of modern "free style" martial arts. No one today has the focus and presence that he had. Anyone that has ever sit down and really watched him would agree. It's a shame he wasn't born later. The 60's-70's were really a cheesy era for movies. Imagine him in a 90's-00's movie. Jackie Chan would be second. He's the man because he does his own stunts, and often hurts himself to keep us entertained. His use of everyday objects as weapons is cool, and damn he is fast. Chow Yun Fat is definitely a better actor than either of the two. I made fun of Crouching Tiger until I finally saw it. Great flick. American/European action stars need to stick with what they are good at, blowing shit up. Bad: Seagal, Norris, Van Damme Good: Arnold, Mel, Bruce Willis, Snipes (his martial arts skills have really improved over the years he is exception to rule above) Will always like Harrison Ford, he is a legend.

I think it looks pretty good. Is your squad a reserve unit? Name is reservish, like here in Colorado. All of our Combat arms units in the NG are under 89th Troop Command. -

No!!!!! Not this argument again!!!! Yes, they do make Armor Piercing Incindiary rounds in .50 cal. No, they are not the same as HE rounds. I've seen an API round go through the rear hatch of a BMP, but an MBT? no way! -
I downloaded that imagry program. I really need to talk to someone that knows how to use it, and also knows how to turn a DEM product into an OFP compatable file. I would really like to play with this and see if we can make some more "real world" maps. If I can do this sucessfully, maybe we can impliment a program like this in my batallion.

I got sprayed with OC (Oleoresin Capsicum, rated 2,000,000 Scolville Heat Units) for a certification class last weekend. I didn't get paid anything. Couldn't see for 45 minutes.

A salesman came to my house while I was cleaning my guns (while simultaneously playing OFP), I was so pissed that I started throwing bullets at him (couldn't shoot him because guns were taken apart) and I slammed his balls in the screen door. This one's for you Wobble.

New terrain is awesome. Can see some potential for very long range sniping. I am an intel analyst in my unit. I am in the ASPS (All Source Product Section)What we do is gather intel from as many sources as possible and then build a map showing likely enemy movements, what they have as far as assets and threats, and where they are. Imagine using VBS (is that what it will be called?) to take satallite photos, or using maps that can be converted into .wrp files then building a "product" that can be used to test our scenarios in a 3d enviroment. Our Bn commander would shit if we could present our briefings in such a format. "Real time" mission planning and briefing. This would also be very good for giving our ground teams an idea of what the terrain is like, where the high speed avenues of approach are, where the good ingress and egress routes are, etc..... Also: How do you set your view distance?
-
I like it. Very east to manuever, though I had some ocillation problems (which is a no-no in real life, it can kill you) Groundspeed is a liitle too fast, you are right. 1st person view is ugly as you stated. Works good from 3rd person view. Which is which I usually use to parachute. Would be cool if you could model a ram-air chute. Overall I like it alot though. Has alot of potential

Also parachuted. Took about 45 minutes to hit the ground, 30 minutes of that was at 4x speed.

*recovers from fit of hysteria* I'm glad this thread finally got some attention. This has got to be some of the funniest shit I've ever read. Although the subject has a face that could crash a trans-continental jetliner. It is most definitely female. Purely by anatomy. No man has hips like that. Thems child bearin' hips.

OFP is by far the most supported and updated game that I have ever played. I can't believe how many freebies we get from BIS. First of all, we need to remember that BIS is a business, and thier primary objective is to make money, not to indulge the buyer's every whim as far as patches go. Despite this fact, I have never felt so taken care of when it comes to game support. Not just from BIS, but from the dedicated fanbase that provides us with new and innovative mods, addons, and missions. So hats of to BIS for producing the most dynamic PC game with the most interactive editing capabilities ever.
