    This is the new-post that i'm intending to post in a new thread. I'm afraid that I had to compile the stuff quickly(hence the crap grammar and spelling), but anythings better than what we have now. WW1 Mini-mod The WW1 mini-mod is a modification of Operation flashpoint to bring the Great War to the operation flashpoint world. The mod has been made by ProffT, with the help of Spad and other mod-makers, to make a simple, easy to use, WW1 modification which includes: Infantry, Armor, Artillery, Aircraft, Trucks, Gas and a ‘WW1 Island’. The mod has no campaigns or extensive missions in the Beta stage, but campaigns should be witnessed in the WW1 mini-mod.     Erm, should I re-post this thread with the 18 pages and 268 replies compressed onto one page? Just that this mini-mod seems to be the largest thing that is happening on flashpoint at the moment, with all the developments sprawling across the forum.

    I'm glad to see bayonets being added. The way that I would force the AI to use bayonets would be to add a trigger just before there position to remove there ammo. I know it is quite a simple solution, but it allows the user to enable charges, where the AI switch to bayonets once they reach the enemy's position.

    Thank you     Those images are perfect. I looked on Google for  (cough) hours and found nothing. The best that I could come up with was a few pictures from different guns, all different marks . Thank you again, Jackle N.B, the Vickers in the last link (the P.S) is a 1950 addition, which has features not commonly found on WW1 MG's( the belt system, muzzle flaring, sites) ; But thanks anyway. P.S The thing that I want to do with the Vickers in flashpoint is to make a few missions. There are several stories from the great war of RFC pilots crashing in no-mans land, or behind enemy lines, to then use there Aircraft's MG to fire upon the foe. In most cases, these pilots where quickly killed. However, during the first day of the 1916 Somme offensive, a Sopwith Camel crashed behind the German lines-near the German front. The Pilot used his Vickers MG, which he literally ripped from his aircraft, to fire upon approaching German troops; before he was rescued by the advancing French forces. I believe the pilots experience would make quite a nice little mission, after some modification (eg, he had to run to the friendly lines, avoiding the German troops.) On another note, If no-one is making a Bristol Fighter; I will happily make the plane. . I am surprised that this 'mini' mod hasn't already got one.

    No bayonet's! Can't you copy the excellent bayonet script from the lib mod? Hand to hand combat was one of the defining features of the trench war, leaving it out of the mod would be unrealistic. Or could you possibly implement the excellent hand-to-hand combat from the SLX mod? Â Other than that, the mod looks good so-far, exept for the 'mini'. Mybe calling the mod "After the first flashpoint" or "Operation WW1" . Anyway, keep up the good work! N.B, you should at least model bayonets onto the ends of the rifles, even if they don't work. Seeing the Tommie go across the barbed wire with there rifles having bayonets fitted ready for the hun is one of the most iconic images of the Great war.

    sorry about not reading the other posts! Another little idea, maybe some Turkish troops and a British rowing boat. That way, a full Gallipoli and Dardanelles campaign may be made, easily fitting the ofpr map restrictions (for the area of action). Keep up the good work!

    Also, the vehicles don't seem to be destroyed- they just have broken glass. Bring back those big explosions when you shoot a fuel truck ect!! Another note, the plane AI seems pretty suicidal, often crashing for no reason. Anyway, good mod!

    Great work on that gas mask script!! Prof, your right about WW1 tanks not burning, they generally broke down/got bogged down and where abandoned, without the tank being destroyed per-say. It would be useful to remember to allow the Germans to have the British MkIV's, re-skinned of course; noting that the majority of WW1 German 'armor' was actually captured Allied machines, manly obtained during the 1918 Kaiserschlacht. Another little suggestion, can you make a script which reduces the players health when they have used/been in a tank, by about 1/3rd , to correctly simulate the effects of the poor ventilation and carbon monoxide poisoning caused by the central engine. looks nice so far, keep going!

    Look's good. However, I thinnk it would be nice to see some change in the view when the gas mask is on; eg, a washed out look and visible scraches/dirt. Also, will there be aircraft? I know there's a good sopwith cammel from BI out there, some aircraft straffing units and dropping fachett's would be perfect! Maby a gothia and handly page? Anyway, Is arty moded? It would make the difference when doing trench attack's ect, with creeping bararges and prolonged arty barrarges. keep up the good-work!
