I guess it could be a bug. Which missions are you experiencing this in? In MP coop missions I've never heard them speak english (aside from the occasional "ouchie fuck et hertz").

Yes. "showCinemaBorder false;" It's explained around 9:00 in the camera tutorial clip http://www.vimeo.com/1545959

Will any of these computers run ArmA2 out of the box?
Thirdup replied to th3_w1ngman's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
If you want an "out of the box" solution, go with one of the PC boutiques like http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ You can get a rig here for $700 that would play ArmA2. But forget Walmart or Bestbuy..... -
I wouldn't buy them from BI. No offense, but there far to many things missing/unfinished/broken with the existing units (ie: UAV functionality, C-130 turning radius, compartment views on several vehicles, etc) that I've already purchased. I have been know to contribute (Paypal) to mission and mod builders who have produced complete and functionally detailed works, though.

Actually if does. If the server admin specifies which mods allowed for a game (if any are allowed) and you have one loaded that's not allowed, you won't be able to join. In any event, test it with one mod at a time in the editor. As a rule, I try not to use periods in the file names of mods (just an old habit).
-
The @black mod is missing it's "Addons" folder. A good habit is to always look inside the "addons" folders and make sure the .pbo files are there (and not mis-extracted to some other set of subfolders within) It should alwasy be .....blahblah\ArmA2\@ModName\Addons\file(s).pbo And as stated, use a launcher (less room for error). Test each lauch in the editor to see if the mods are working. And remember, just because *you* have a mod dosen't mean it will ever get used (if the mission designer didn't use that mod in his mission). Plus, some servers will boot you for having *any* mods loaded whatsoever.

Really looking forward to the release of Chammy's sounds.

I think he ported over his previous build from OFP. Gonna be smokin' when he's done with it.

Installing addons dedicated servers.
Thirdup replied to B17gunner98th's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Anytime. If you want to call multiple mods, just seperate them with a ; in the command line: "ArmA_Server.exe -config=server.cfg -netlog -port=2302 -mod=@ModName;@ModTwo;@ModThree" If you're using a hosting service, most will provide a command line editor where you can simply insert the code. Good luck. -
Installing addons dedicated servers.
Thirdup replied to B17gunner98th's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Install your server mods in the same fashion you would on your client machine (most people use the "@ModName/Addons/file.pbo" format) Call your mods via the server startup. "ArmA_Server.exe -config=server.cfg -netlog -port=2302 -mod=@ModName" Have a look here: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Armed_Assault:Dedicated_Server -
Step 1. Go to the *OFFICAL* game site http://www.arma2.com/ Step 2. Look for a link for *WHERE TO PURCHASE* http://www.arma2.com/distribution_en.html Step 3. Buy either the DVD or the download. Anywhere else and you risk being ripped off. And anywhere else means that BI likely won't support (meaning these forums).

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod 2
Thirdup replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
In the original ACE if you were overloaded and tried to sprint, you'd start to black in/out after 10-20 paces. Around 30 paces, you begin to pant like a dog and fall face-first to the prone position. You couldn't fire, see, nor stand. You'd lay there panting and defenseless for about a minute. -

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod 2
Thirdup replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
a) the duration of the exhausted state b) the inability to effectively fire a weapon in the exhausted state I could have actually lived with the system had I been able to at least defend myself while forced down. Again, to each his own. The whole concept of "what makes a good reality mod" is really quite subjective. ---------- Post added at 03:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:06 PM ---------- I wish I could find the quote buried up thread somewhere.....somebody said something along the lines "if you don't know what ACE is, it's hard to explain". To me ACE was four things: 1) a great collection of addons (sounds, fx, weapons, etc) 2) a distribution system that was near fool-proof (easy to get an entire clan in sync and patched up together with one click) 3) additional animations that were not found in the original game 4) a reality mod Honestly, I could really care less about #4. If had had but one request for ACE2 it would be that it were modular and allowed users to turn on the features they love and switch off the ones that they don't care for..... -

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod 2
Thirdup replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Hated the ACE stamina system (only ACE feature that I kept disabled). I look forward to seeing the changes in the new one. -
Something that someone pointed out in another thread, the bomb stick appears to be impacting in a reverse order (first out, last landed). Makes for a precision strike, but bends some physics.
-
The addon is a beta. But yeah, the stick looks to be impacting in a reversed patern.

Just testing Gnat's addon. YTH4-x1pwhM
