Quoted for the supreme truth, I also modified mine to use the original bullet cracks, they sound much more like the real thing. (I know I've worked the pits at my range )

That picture of the SIR you posted just looks silly. There was really no detailed description of it in the book other than being made to be solid, reliable and accurate with wooden furniture and an action supposedly similar to the AK47. Any conventional weapon layout with wood firniture would do, but that bastardised combining of a G36 and AK in the pic just looks terrible.

I had the same, but I turned textures and world from the highest down just to 'improved' (ie. one higher than balanced) and it runs beautifully. Our systems are nearly identical, except my E6600 is at stock speed and my 8800GTS is the 320MB model. I am loving this game, the demo sold me and I've ordered it. I was a bit worried about not liking the context as much as the old WW2 era CM games but I have a lot of fun playing as the Syrians. In that single mission of the demo I reamed the Americans, only lost two vehicles and that was to bombardment. I drew them in with rocket fire and used a fold of ground to conceal my T72M's. Sprang them at the perfect moment and devastated the M1A2 SEP's from the side, then withdrew and flanked the Strykers which stood zero chance. The great thing about a Stryker is that when it goes up it takes most of the squad inside with it muwahahahahahahaha!!! My infantry didn't even fire a single shot!!!! Which I guess really means the AI is still the same old so prone to entrapment thing it was in the older CM games.

C'mon you have to do the standard F88 and the version with the forend and 203. I know I'm a bastard but pleeeeeeeeaaaaaassssse

Nice work, now some more requests. AN-94 Rk 95 (in fact the whole Rk series) Also the sight on the CTAR-21 is just a red dot along the same lines as the aimpoint. I saw it on an episode of Future Weapons on pay TV the other day. I also believe they said it has low light capability and only actually turns on when you flick the safety off.

Are you making one in bog standard config a s well?

FDF by far. Chammy's I don't understand getting all the votes, I like the concept of it and all but the weapons just lack punch to their sounds. It's not his fault though as all the sources for wepaons firing being taken from footage you can't expect much. The main gripe I have with it is firing the gun in my hand sounds like it's in the distance. FDF may not be using 100% realistic sounds, but at least the weapons are LOUD and threatening.

Personally I didn't think AvP was that hard, when battling aliens there was a certain way to move at the last minute to have them over shoot you then you'd just hammer them as they tried to do a 180 kick flip on the spot. Also the alien generators only let out about 8-16 aliens per piece, so once you knew where they were you just camped and killed all the aliens that came out then moved on. I finished it on directors cut.

What the hell is GTA:SA doing in there, it is the easiest of the whole lot of GTA games to complete by far.

How about a Tavor and FNC?

post your mission, i'll take a look. I don't think the cause is some bug in Yomies, as they are ENEMY to all, so even if you put a civilian with gun, or resistance soldier, no matter, everyone will want to kill the zombies. I haven't actually made a mission, this happens in the example mission that come with the mod. My team members will just stand around while the zombies massacre them.

Must give a shout out to you guys EXCELLENT WORK! This is how the game should have sounded out of the box, keep up the good work.
-
Just started getting this error myself after ages of having ArmA work fine. It only started happening after I played with my 'render frames ahead' setting in rivatuner to get rid of mouse lag.
-
I have a big bug, I can't get my forces to engage the zombies, they seem to still regard them as civvies. I issued a fire at will order and it did nothing. This happens in the demo mission as well. Also where the hell is version 2, the site only has beta 1.

As we all know the floating zone was extended to affecting you while aiming down the sights in version 1.05. What I want to know is it possible to make this optional at all? Because I really prefer the classic OFP way, ie. the floating zone applies when unsighted, but when you take aim your weapon stays centered. I think it would be nice if there was a simple check box to allow classic OFP style aiming. Because the only way around it now is to turn the floating zone to 0 in your options but then there's some servers which force you to have it at a minimum level.

Well to me it feels with ArmA that gameplay has really not changed at all from OFP. The only real difference is a few extra moves you can pull off with your infantrymen like leaning and rolling and the unfortunate (IMHO) decision to apply the floating zone to iron sights. It seems to me like 90% of the effort in developing the game was put into ramping up the graphics and it is really only semi successful because so many people cannot even see the nice graphics due to performance issues. Personally I would have much preferred a small graphical update from OFP (hell better character models and textures would have done me) and much more effort put into making the game as bug free and awesome as possible.

Hardware Issues: Tips/Tricks/Solutions
TheReddog replied to Jack-UK's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Having it unlocked won't mater at all unless you increase the settings past default. -
My arse it's not broken, head over to troubleshooting and tell me it's not broken you tool. It's hard to see a little company like BIS working on patches and an expansion simultaneously, they're welcome to prove me wrong but I am not happy about the idea of having to pay for an expansion to get more fixes to the engine. I payed full price for the 505 release (1.05) and the game was full of problems. Now at 1.08 I can't even get my bloody NVG's to stay on without periodically using the 'flush' command and that's just one among a list of bugs/gameplay issues/performance problems as long as my arm.
-
What the... they should be bloody well fixing ArmA before working on an expansion. Or are we going to have to buy the expansion and pay for the fixes to the broken arse game they released, ala EA?
-
T-90 would wipe the floor with an M1A1. Its a pretty old tank. Doubtful, the M1A1 still features the layered armor and accurate gun of the M1A2, just isn't as far ahead in targeting hardware. It'd really come down to who saw who first.

How's this for a twist, immediate post WW2, Western Allies and Soviets fall into real conflict. I'd call it, 1946.
-
There must be an air assault on vin drin lop or dop or whatever the hell that place is called mission But sir, that's charlies point!!!
-
Same issue, it's very frustrating when you're in the middle of tearing an advancing line of bots a new arse with an M249 and the NVG's go dead.
